Really bad slice at 3pm on a weekday afternoon. Pizza looked like it had been sitting out for a long time and flies were landing on it. I probably shouldn't have ordered, but the woman helping us was really nice and proud of their toppings, so we got a truffle slice. She cut it with scissors and put it in a toaster oven. Paid about $7.50 and it was served cold. Greasy and floppy and didn't taste good. We left after a couple bites and had to buy food again up the street. I like their concept but don't go off mealtime. read more

Great little place just off of Main Street. Was greeted even before we walked in the door. We bought by slice and it was perfect! The pesto was one of the best I've had! Kids loved the pizza! And the sweets!!! Didn't have any but they looked mouth watering! Would definitely return. read more

This is the real stuff. Quality ingredients make quality pizza. And you'll find that here. The employees care about the product and treat customers like real people. Also, lots of vegetarian options! Nutella pie. Omg, decadent. More like a flaky turnover, it's perfect to share with a friend or two because it is rich! Around a dozen pizza varieties are available at the counter; they heat up your selection and serve it on wooden blocks. Seating is available inside and outside. Main Street address, but it's really behind Starbucks. read more

This is by far the best pizza in Orange County that I've tasted. First, a huge shoutout to the owner, Francesco. He is from Rome, he was so nice to us, gave us cannolis on the house (which were amazing btw) sharing with us his philosophy behind having all organic ingredients. The pizza was amazing. I had the truffleporcini and the Crostini (ham and fresh mozz) both were so delicious. They are open til 2 am on Fri and Sat and free delivery with a $20 order. Terrible. Rude employees talk crap about you in Italian while you wait forever for mediocre food. Hot food is cold. Tiramisu is melted. Sauce cup with calzone is empty. Never again. Best pizza on the west coast!! My friend suggested we try this pizza place since she's been here before and I was so impressed! Wait time was about 5-10 mins for 5 slices of pizza that our group ordered. I ordered the sausage and pepperoni and I am hooked! I ordered a slice for about $5-$6 and portions are huge! 1 slice is maybe 2 slices, really. My favorite part was the crust but I can definitely tell all ingredients were fresh. I'd defffffintely stop by this restaurant the next time I'm in the area! read more

If you want the lasagne go somewhere else. We ordered delivery from here about 920pm on a Saturday night. Guy who answered the phone passed me off to somebody else who spoke clear English. We ordered pizza and lasagne with garlic bread. It came to the hotel lobby and then called me. My husband met him in the lobby and the dude forgot the lasagne. Ok-things happen. The pizza was good I will admit. He brings the lasagna to the hotel. I open it. No garlic bread and see picture below for what it looked like. (Lacking sauce). I take a few bites and it's cold. To my disbelief I take another bite and same thing. Feel the bottom of the tray. Cold. Call the place back and ask for the owner. He calls me back and I tell him the problem and that I wanted a refund. He replies ok I come pick up the food all ok. Then hangs up. can we say won't be coming back here. read more

Tried their gluten free truffle mushroom pizza for the first time! I like their gluten free crust best so far. It's the only one that is crisp and has a cracker like taste. The toppings are quality and elevated. Very good pizza! I will be back. read more

This pizza is life-changing. I had the Hell Salami and Brenda had the pepperoni. This is the best pizza I have ever tasted. It was cheesy, yummy, and the crust stayed crispy to the last bite. Love that they use organic ingredients. It is apparent that the owners take pride in their food and serving their customers. Carlotta explained the ingredients/toppings of each pizza with such charm. We were at the pier and wanted pizza by the slice I looked on here of course and was like hmmm what to get I seen the good reviews so we decided to come this way. The people there were nice and they had a about 8 different pizzas out. We decided to tried two different ones beside pepperoni and to say I was disappoint would be right. I just expected so much more of a robust taste. The flavors were a little bland and the pizza was not hot by any means. I really did like the people working they seemed really nice but the product was less than expected. The flavor was not there. I seen how many stars this place had and was wondering why it was so high. I would have rather just ordered a take out from a chain. I will not be coming back to this place but hey others like to rate it high so maybe it was just a bad Saturday night... Maybe. Give it a try and let me know what you think. read more

It's sooo good! Especially for organic, real Italian pizza!! When I heard of this place, I've been wanting to go, but I'm never in the area! So last weekend, I was in Costa Mesa running some errands and figured I'd drop by here to give it a try. So the way it's set up, you order the slice(s) of pizza or a whole pizza at the counter. Then you pay at the register. I knew before going in that I was going to get a Large pizza, since it'd be more worth it. So when I told the guy at the counter what I wanted, he was like "are you sure?!" Then he proceeded to show me how big a large was with a whole pizza on display. I said yes. He then was still skeptical, and the person I was with said "isn't it cheaper for a large?", and the guy said yes. So the person I was with said that we can just take the leftovers home. He said it'd take 5 minutes, and I said ok. It took at least 20 minutes. :( Well, I would have been okay with it if they said it'd take 20 minutes. We were hungry, too, so the wait was kind of overbearing. When the veggie pizza came out, I couldn't wait to dig in. The guy who brought it out said that we had to finish it... (Jokingly, of course.) 6 HUGE slices. 5 of which were eaten on location. So when I asked for a small box, he looked, and was surprised we had devoured it. The pizza was REALLY good though!! A large veggie pizza was $23.75, which was a bit pricey, but you can't complain since they us all organic ingredients. Customer service was on-point. I didn't realize that downtown Huntington Beach was all paid parking, though, since I'm never in that area. We came on a Sunday night, and it wasn't too hard to find parking. We parked on a side street, not the main street, though. All in all, REALLY good, organic, authentic Italian pizza!! I just wished there was a location closer to where I live, though!! Or else I'd be going there VERY often! Sooo good, with great-quality ingredients! What more can you ask for?! I can't wait to come back here, whenever that may be! read more

Great authentic homemade Italian pizza. I've lived on the east coast and traveled to Italy. This can be compared to some of the best pizza I have had the pleasure of eating. A little expensive, but it's ORGANIC! Very worth it in my opinion. My pizza guage: scale of 1-10 Dough- 11 Sauce- 8/10 Cheese- 9 Is it good hot? Yes Is it good room temp? Heck yes! Is it good cold? When an Italian guy next to you takes a bite of his pizza and says, "Man this reminds me of a place by my house," you know you are in for a treat. This place took me by surprise. Not because I had low expectations, but because I didn't even know it existed. I sort of came up upon it during a night time walk around HB. Basically, the premise is you order your slice, which is cut, and then they heat it up for you. Granted, this process can take time, so while I love the product, the turnover is slow-going and requires some more thought. I ordered a very basic cheese slice (square?) of pizza. Ten minutes later my piece came out. And it was like hot lava. I couldn't bite in to it. But once I let that ocean breeze cool my slice, I was enamored. It was probably the second best piece of pizza I have ever had in my entire life (first being Escape from New York pizza in San Francisco, CA). The crust was on point: Burnt in the best way possible with a nice mouthfeel. The sauce and the cheese were sweet and salty. It wasn't heavy in the least bit. And man, if these people can make such a simple piece of pizza kick ass, they definitely know what they are doing. My only criticism is the turnaround time. I know you have to heat up the slices (they are room temp in the display case), but sometimes it kills the vibe to have to wait so long for something so tasty. read more

Doppio Zero is fantastic. Francesco and his Wife Carlotta are very friendly. I have been several times since they opened. So far I have had a calzone, Lasagna several types of pizza and the Greek salad. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu and they are 100 % Organic. Been a good while since I had good quality pizza. This place delivers that good quality. Pepperoni Pizza and the Truffle Pizza: both flavorful; the crusts had a semi soft chewy texture; the cheese was excellent; and the portions were quite decent for individual slices. Total: $14.00 for two slices and a drink (not including taxes). The cost of each slice differs depending on what you order. My pepperoni pizza slice was close to $5.00, and the truffle slice was about $6 ish. Service: Professional staff that actually provides suggestions, new information on certain pizza selections, and helpful tips as well. Final Thoughts: Will definitely come back. The ingredients here are top notch and fresh, therefore it's worth the cost. read more

I was here today (again) to have V-Day brunch. The first thing I got was the warmest welcome I have ever gotten, and after that I had a Bolognese and two slices of pizza. This place serves real Italian food! I will always come back here whenever I'm around. Delicious pizza !!!! Wow, just like from Italy. I have traveled to Italy and this by far taste just like it. Delicious & thin crust with many options and choices to choose from & served on for- here small cutting board & they slice (cut) the pizza with scissors & put it in a warm fire oven, so the crust gets crispy and toasty. Sitting inside and outside, nice high tables perfect for a table lunch or dinner. They have sparking water yayy & Nutella pizza. The owner came out & gave a small slice to each of us to enjoy & you don't pay till the end if your eating there. That's awesome. Very traditional & Italian style living. -Pepperoni & truffle mushroom pizza by the slice: is the good ones. -Lasagna: good for sharing for 2 people. If you like authentic Italian pizza...this is the place to go. I love this place and feel like I'm in Italy every time I go there. They have a variety of unique pizza's to chose from and all are so yummy!!! The owners are so sweet and the place is so quaint as well as charming. I love how they sell pizza by the slice which is rare to find. The portion size is generous and price is reasonable. The tiramisu is absolutely delicious and one of my favorites. My wife and I ended up riding bikes to the Huntington Beach pier. I pulled up Yelp to find lunch and found the reviews for zerozero39 Pizza. We walked two blocks to find the place and we are so happy we did. We tried two different types of pizza and both were great but the "rustica" was absolutely fantastic. We ended up talking with the owner who came from Rome to open the business. She and the rest of the staff are so nice. The dough is made on the premises and that really makes a difference. We will certainly be back, and I can't wait to try her homemade lasagna. read more

It's the sauce! Their sauce is amazing, also nice crust with just the right crispiness. Nice assortment of toppings available and the staff is extremely nice and also play good music. The lean scallops of veal were very well pounded and tender, and the Marsala Sauce with Mushrooms delicious. Other diners in my party ordered and were pleased with Vitello Picatta, Tortellini Veneto with Grilled Shrimp, Penne Con Petit De Pollo (chicken), and Ravioli Breve Costola (short rib). Our group had a large table to ourselves, and service was responsive and excellent. The dining room was opulently furnished, with color drawings of Chicago mobster Al Capone, Marlon Brando as "The Godfather," and Al Pacino as Miami drug lord Tony Montana AKA "Scarface" adorning walls. Our timing was not good as the restaurant had experienced a rush of diners and it would be a 45 minutes wait until our party of 6 could be seated. We would wait knowing the food quality is good. We were joined outside by 2 other parties that also were repeat customers. Both parties of 6 and 5 were seated back to back so it was a little tight in terms of spacing between the tables. However, since the acquisition of another storefront, the restaurant is double in size we told our out-of-town family members whom we were introducing to our favorite local family Italian restaurant. Veronica was our server again. She was our server the last time we were here for my husband's birthday dinner. We were happy to see her. Veronica took our drink orders and gave us time to look at the menu. Daughter had strawberry puree with sparkling water and lemon. Veronica was up front in letting her know that it was from a can. Brother-in-law had a Philadelphia root beer--Hank's in a bottle. Niece ordered Calamari Fritti and Spaghetti Bolognese with gluten-free pasta. Brother-in-law went with Veronica's suggestion of the Insalata Mona Lisa small after finding out how large the salad would be. He also ordered the Margherita Pizza to share with his niece. Daughter upon hearing that the Salmon Limone was not dairy-free opted for the Spaghetti alla Checca with a salmon fillet. The rest of the family had the day's specials of Salmon Limone, Linguine Pesto with smoked salmon and asparagus, and Bistecca done medium rare with pan sauce. Everybody had had small lunches and so were really hungry. Bread was warm and balsamic vinegar olive oil combo in dipping saucers was soaked up by the sliced bread prompting a request for another basket of bread while we waited for our entrees. Calamari Fritti is niece's favorite appetizer and did not fail to please. Brother-in-law's salad looked good with greens, red beets, tomatoes, and candied walnuts. Margherita pizza was simple with mozzarella cheese, tomato slices, and fresh basil. Daughter was delighted with her salmon fillet. Other daughter enjoyed her linguine pesto, but it was so rich that she was only able to finish a quarter of her dish taking the rest home for another meal or two. She wasn't done with the sauce in her dish and let the assistant server wanting to clear dishes know that she wanted to enjoy the remaining sauce a bit longer . I enjoyed my salmon with lemon capers that cut into the richness of the creamy angel hair pasta. The cherry/grape tomatoes were fresh. Husband's Bistecca was a big boy's portion. He enjoyed it tremendously, but was only able to finish half of the 16 oz. steak. We passed on desserts this time, but my family remembered how on our 1st visit to the restaurant about 15+ years ago I ordered one of every dessert on the platter. They were all very good. My husband's favorite is the cannoli. I prefer the limoncello cake. Dinner here is always worth the wait and the food and service are excellent.

His only response was that he'd "talk to the server and chef about timing" a vague, dismissive answer that ignored every issue I raised. It was almost laughable how obviously he was trying to rush me off the phone. No apology, no real interest in fixing anything, no understanding of how customer service is supposed to work. A bad meal is forgivable. A manager who doesn't care is the reason I won't be back.

One of the owners that we talked to also was social with us when I asked him about his restaurant and the influence for the menu items. I did not get his name, but he let me know he has Greek and Italian roots, which makes sense seeing that there are a lot of Greek/Mediterranean items on the menu as well. I believe he said his Italian ancestry is from Sicily, which was nostalgic for me because Sicily was one of my favorite weekend trips back when I spent a summer in Italy. Anyway, on to the food. I ordered the Penne Marco Polo which came with a delicious cream sauce and served with shrimp, broccoli, mushrooms and artichokes mixed in. It was one of the best pastas I have ever had! My mom ordered the chicken piccata - it was good, but she did have a complaint. Her plate arrived drowned in the wine sauce. I do not think it was supposed to be that wet. My daughter ordered the kids fettuccini, and our server was able to modify it so that it would come with pesto instead of the alfredo or pomodoro sauce. What impressed me the most was the service. Every staff member we met was genuinely warm and friendly. I ordered the Linguine Frutti Di Mare at the recommendation of the waitress. Once it arrived it had an extremely watery sauce and looked more like a Cioppino (seafood stew} then any type of pasta entree dish with a sauce. The flavors were okay at best, but I was shocked at how watery the sauce was. I even asked the waitress if it was supposed to be so watery to which she had no response. I don't know if they are watering down all the sauces to stretch ingredients or if they don't drain the water from the pasta before they mix them - either way it was way too watery. My 5-year-old son had spaghetti with marinara sauce that was extremely watery as well and he refused to eat it after a couple of bites. My son always eats spaghetti with red sauce everywhere we go so we were shocked to see that he wasn't going to. We asked the waitress if we could get something else since he didn't like it to which she stated she would have to check with management. She came back and said unfortunately we could not nor would they remove it from the bill, but she did say she could get us some Alfredo sauce that we could mix in to the spaghetti and red sauce pasta. My 8-year-old ordered Fettuccini Alfredo which had good flavors but was extremely watery as well. It was more of a scampi sauce (water/butter sauce} then anything remotely close to a creamy alfredo sauce. My wife and brother-in-law who also ordered pasta dishes agreed their sauces were extremely watery as well. Lastly, when the bill came, we were shocked to see a $6 fee for tiny little dish of Alfredo Sauce that the waitress went out of her way and offered to bring my 5-year-old son so he would eat his dish. She should have at least let us know there was a charge for it if it wasn't going to be free. I do not plan on going back and would much rather eat at Renato's in Westminster.

The Nutella Malasada was full of Nutella and it was actually my first time trying a malasada... bomb! The cookies and creme mochi was a nice surprise too. The cream was actually very flavorful and not just like a plain creme with Oreos thrown in like I've often seen. I'm sure all of the donuts would be really good here. I have been watching this place since it opened and have been looking for an excuse to try it. I have noted they draw a good local crowd in the evenings.Today I was at the tail end of a fifteen mike bike ride on a breakfast of coffee. Trying to figure the whole pizza from the sliced is not straight forward. So now I am being picky.The pizza is rectangular ah ! A good thing ! Background.. Dad was born in Detroit from parents who came from Italy near Monte Cassino.His eldest brother was born there. So I wanted to say I had no problem with the staff at all, I didnt really get to engage with the staff much cause I wasnt there for too long but they seemed pretty friendly. Heres where the problem lies, starting with the food, it wasnt very good, i was very unimpressed, we got the baratta pizza and the cheese, the barrata was worse then the cheese, it was just so, i dont even know how to describe it without saying it was just very meh, and then the cheese on the cheese pizza was like just not good at all. The second thing that i wanted to say was that the price was like so unreasonable, I asked for 4 slices, 3 barrata and 1 cheese. The staff cut off the slices, heated them up, put them in the box and then took me to the register and the total came out to be 40 dollars, yes that is with a tip of 20%, but thats an insane price for 4 slices of pizza. Anyways, yah thats it for my rant, I know rent there is high and there isnt a whole lot of costomers all year long but like come on, that pizza tasted like dirt. :/ read more
