We are always looking for something different, and Zest in Bay Shore is just that. Everything is homemade--not reheated items from bags--and the staff is exceptional. We came in for brunch but had missed the cutoff time. That wasn't a problem for them at all. They took the lunch menus back, handed us the brunch menus, and said, "Please order. We'll take care of you." Even something as simple as the breakfast potatoes stands out. They make them several different ways, and you can clearly taste the freshness of hand-cut potatoes compared with the processed ones that simply come out of a bag. There are a lot of choices out there, but we have found that at many places, the food can taste processed and not particularly fresh. Zest was a refreshing change. Give Zestlongisland a shot! Zest Bay Shore is a winner! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was great, the service was friendly, and the food--oh man, the food--was top-tier. First up, the Bavarian pretzel. This thing was huge, warm, perfectly salted, and came with multiple dips that made it impossible to stop eating. We kept passing it around, trying to pick a favorite dip, but honestly, they were all amazing. Then came the French onion soup, and wow--rich, cheesy, and loaded with caramelized onion goodness. Basically, a warm hug in a bowl. The sandwiches were equally awesome--fresh, flavorful, and stuffed just right. Every bite was a win. Overall, Zest Bay Shore knows how to do it right. Don't know where to begin - catered a party just off of their reviews I saw, and there was no mistake that I made the right decision. Food was absolutely different, delicious and working with them was so easy. I stuck with their BBQ type foods and they beat any other BBQ place I have ever eaten at. From the pulled pork, spare ribs, penne ala vodka ziti with sausage, mac n cheese, bbq meatballs, sliders and cornbread stuffing and a few more items - YUMMY!!! When the restaurant gets filled up, parking can be difficult. Value 4/5 - Good value for the money. It's not super cheap but the food was elevated.
