They have the best Pistachio and Rocky Road ice cream here. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is their servings are inconsistent. I would order a kid's size and sometimes my kids would have the same amount and other times more than me and my husband's order which is a size up. read more

Just ten years ago, the ice cream options in downtown Plymouth were huge. There was the Friendly's across from the IGA on Sandwich St, the great Duxbury ice cream stand Farfar's had a location on Court St., Peaceful Meadows was the next building over on Water St, and then you had Ziggy's. It's been an area institution since the 1960s, and it used to be great, but it's slipped a bit. Part of it was when they went upmarket and "prettified," with a polished corporate interior and seating space (it was strictly take-out, in the old days). The prices jacked up to match the tourists' wallets, they started to serve other foods (mediocre in quality), and the ice cream wasn't as good as it once was. As others have mentioned, it's a seasonal joint, but then again it always was. It's really the only option left right on the waterfront (PM moving to Village Landing, and Friendly's and Farfar's closing), but I'd like the 1970s-80s Ziggy's back, please. read more

Great service and delicious ice cream. They make fresh waffle cones - we got some hot ones! They have a variety of flavors to choose from, including sugar free and frozen yogurt. There's definitely something for everyone. - they also have a window outside for people who want just ice cream or inside to order from their food menu too. read more

Ehhh. Appreciate that they're open and the ice cream was delicious. But stars off because I got a pint and a small of two different flavors. The small was barely scooped into the cup. Not a lot of ice cream for the price. And they also skimped on the pint. It wasn't really full, with big gaping holes throughout. Not worth the price for me, but it's a decent spot in a pinch. read more

Pretty small and busy place, but seemed pricey. I got a small kids cone and a large waffle cone and it cost $12. Other than that it's perfectly located, right across a great waking path and benches where you can sit and enjoy the view of the wharf! read more

I went here to get some quick food with my friend on the waterfront, and the service was not very good. You can tell the kids working there were doing their best, but it was almost completely run by teenagers. On top of that, the food was mediocre at best-- our burgers were over cooked and mine had a bunch of toppings on it (even though i asked for it without them). I don't think I'll be coming back here any time soon :/ read more

My in laws and I go here quite frequently in the summer months and I thought it was time to write a review. We really like this place. I just have a couple small complaints. - Expensive - 7 bucks for two small ice creams is ridiculous, no matter what extras are on them. - Post your prices outside by the walk up window and not just inside, so I don't end up being a complete jerk when I don't have enough cash and have to beg people for extra money to cover the bill. Oh Ziggy's. Your chocolate/vanilla swirl soft serve dipped in cherry hard shell dip thing makes me feel like a kid again. Yes, this is mainly because when the cherry hard shell dip thing breaks, it causes the ice cream to drip and melt all over my chin and hands, but it's worth it. Sometimes when I don't want to be all nostalgically messy, I'll get a dainty cup of your hard packed ice cream, and like the lady I am, slurp all that peppermint patty (studded with junior mints!) up. Feeling a little anti-dairy? Slushes in every flavor imaginable will help you out. Feeling a little indulgent? Load up on one of their sundaes. Or go crazy and order a banana split. It's basically the only place anyone should go to get ice cream or soft serve in Plymouth. And if you are into chocolate dipped bananas they have them too. They do close for the winter though so you're just going to have to wait for May :( read more

Went here last Saturday night. It wasn't busy but then again it was around 8:30. There was a group of 4 of us and we went to the outside window. I had an intense craving for Moose Tracks ice cream, so I got a small cone of that with black jimmies. Someone else in the group got the same but in a cup and the others got mint choc chip and black raspberry. The moose tracks had little to nothing in it. It was just like eating plain vanilla ice cream and not good at all. The jimmies tasted old and moldy. The other person who got the MT thought the same thing. The only one who liked theirs was the mint choc chip. So 3/4 of us weren't happy with our orders whatsoever. I think Ziggy's is still decent but definitely stick to the soft serve. read more

Terrible service. Also, the sign that says 'cash only' is like 6 1/2 feet in the air, little 5 foot me couldn't read it and after ordering I was told to go to the atm in the back. My 4$ Ice cream turned into 10$. To top it off it off by the time I got to the atm, took money out, and walked back they gave me a melted ice cream. Cool. Thanks. Not coming back. read more

Good for soft-serve, sure. That's not hard, and the pretty, flirtatious teeenge girls working the counters (and being undressed in the imaginations of the teenage boys who wander in and out of the store) are certainly up to the task. The menu at Ziggy's, however, involves a host of grill items that the girls just can't manage. Order a hamburger or corn dog and watch them wince. One will bravely try to work the grill or fryer while the others linger at the counter, casting backward glances of sympathy and curiosity, but nonetheless resolutely unwilling to help the situation. The ice cream is good - but its the only soft-serve on Water St, so they kind of have the market cornered and really don't have to try hard. There are dozens of other places serving grill items nearby and the staff are simply not motivated to compete with their neighbors. A pity, because it wold be nice to have it all in one place. read more

Outstanding! Lots of options. Homemade hard ice cream is wonderful. Their sundaes are unusual and flavorful. The fried ice cream oreo sundae is dangerously good. Their waffle cones (especially if you can get them when they are hot and freshly made) are very good. Cash only so be prepared. Well, the place is crowded all the time. The ice cream's not cheap. And it's not bad, but err, when I order chocolate-peanut-butter, I should get more than one bite of peanut butter in my entire bleeding scoop of ice cream. I may's well have got plain ol' chocolate. One good thing about it, though, is that even though it seems pricey, one scoop is actually a HUGE portion, so you're not getting shafted, for sure. Unless you wanted peanut butter in your chocolate-peanut-butter... Okay, I'll shut up. This place is not bad, but could definitely improve. read more

WOW!! This is some of the best ice cream I've ever had. So good! Sweet and creamy and just perfection! I highly suggest the Maine Black Bear, Peanut butter Oreo, and the Strawberry Cheesecake. A teeny garden salad, small sandwich no sides, fish and chips, and a 3pc chix finger was $45! Overpriced for the VERY basic food. Service was just a walk-up counter manned by mostly annoyed teens, but I don't expect much more than that for seasonal stands these days. On the main road overlooking Plymouth Harbor, this is admittedly a bit of a tourist trap. The food is nothing special but adequate if you are starving and don't mind paying Rockefeller prices for a mom and pop dish. Plenty of other choices abound. Do your Yelpwork first so you do not get stuck in the optionless position we were in to purchase food from here. read more

Whatever happened to never talking about religion or politics at a place of business? I am a local who loves going around the corner to Ziggy's ...that is until I see the old guy at the grill proudly wearing a trump hat. Then he screws up a woman's order, drops half of it on the floor, she asks for a refund, then based on his response tells him to just keep the money. I kindly suggested she actually take her money. Any hope I had of this just be some hire who chose to display his personal beliefs perhaps in the absence of management was dashed as he barked at the staff to just open the drawer and give her the money as, "he knows what is what, he does the safe every night." Sorry, I don't like my ice cream with a side of insurrection. And to those of you not from town, they also own the newly remodeled Pebbles directly accross from State Pier (the Mayflower). read more

If you could give ZERO stars I would!! The French fries are NOT good French fries!! Besides that cuz I know different places have different fries and you learn to know who's are better. I asked the girl how long for two slices of pizza, she said they didn't have slices ready so I had to wait for the whole pizza to be cooked and it would be "10 minutes". After 30 minutes I asked a girl out back for my money back because it had been 30 minutes, she said hold on a minute and never came back. I went to a front window and waited for the next open window and again asked for my money back... at this point I said it had been 45 minutes... the owner said No Way kinda rudely and I said ok, it had only been 40 minutes but was promised 10. They said the fries were ready and pizza was just about ready. 5 minutes later I said I would take the fries and wanted my pizza money back. All of a sudden the pizza was ready and the owner said I could have the whole pizza for my troubles. I didn't want a whole pizza, just wanted my two slices and meanwhile the whole night was gone. To make things completely worse, the pizza dough was RAW and uncooked, it was aweful!!! I own a pizza oven and a frozen pizza takes "7" minutes!! 45 minutes is unacceptable!!! Pizza was horrible and inedible, threw it away!! Also the fries were soooo over salted you couldn't eat them!! Threw them away also!! Don't ever get food here!!! read more

Was in Plymouth for 2 days and had Ziggys ice cream 3 times! Soft serve, homemade ice cream, and low cal frozen yogurt all delicious! The Turtle ice cream was delicious. But the best part is the young women working there - they hustle and work hard to keep the line moving!! read more

Ziggy's is conveniently located on the waterfront. It was a good end to a nice day. I will say that my ice cream was a little dull. I was expecting more of a punch from my mocha chip. My husband really liked the death by chocolate, though and my mom commented that it was the best waffle cone she'd ever had. The benefit of Ziggy's is that it has tons of choices, so it's good for a crowd. read more
