This place has a vibe !! It's one of those places where it reminds you of Cheers (neighborhood vibes, everyone knows your name kind of thing) but maintains a modern vibrancy. Ordered a white chocolate bischoff at first while I waited for my partner to get there.. sat down.. and they brought my coffee to me. Went to the Zing Cafe in The Village Of West Clay for breakfast today. This is a restaurant I have been meaning to try for a long time. The service was fast and friendly and the food exceeded our expectations. We had the bacon and egg sandwich, which was delicious. Zing! Cafe is a charming little locally owned coffee shop and cafe in the Village of West Clay. I took my granddaughter for lunch mid-week on a perfect day to eat at one of their outside tables. The shop is tight inside and most tables were occupied during our visit with morning regulars. The menu offers lots of coffee and smoothie options, breakfast items and sandwiches. My granddaughter had the Kid's Grilled Cheese sandwich with assorted fruit. The sandwich was a half sandwich with generous melted cheese. The fresh fruit cup was beautiful and tasty. She was happy. I had the Tuna Melt Sandwich which was more of tuna salad and no melt on ciabatta. That was ok because I like tuna salad too. The salad had bits of cucumber in it. The sandwich came with a generous helping of pasta salad which had a slight spicy zing and was very good. I enjoyed my lunch. Our food came out quickly. This is a cute neighborhood coffee shop in West Clay. The customer service is so personalized, they remember coffees and allergies for regular customers and the owners check on you and help with anything you need. I tried the Strawberry fields salad and cinnamon roll. Both were fresh, the croissant as a side for layered, flaky and tasty and cinnamon roll was huge, syrupy and delicious. The cafe was awarded the best neighborhood coffee shop and I think that's accurate with the lovely, homelike yet customized feel. There's ample street parking, lots of stores to shop at and lovely book stores to stop by. Love love the location and food! read more

My wife and I have spent the summer riding our bikes to different coffee shops around Carmel, Westfield and Noblesville. Today we rode to Zing. Cute little place in West Clay and fairly busy on a Sunday morning. Very friendly people and best of all very good coffee and reasonably priced. The outside seating was a little rough due to lack of shade but still a nice atmosphere to be outside. So far this is neck and neck with Rivet Coffee as our top places we've been to so far. We live on the East side so a bit of a ride to get here but very doable due to the bike path network in Carmel. Worth the trip and look forward to coming again. read more

Got to experience Zing!Cafe for the first time. First of all, love the location of this cafe. Being located in the beautiful Village of West Clay really added to the experience . The cafe is small but cozy. They have a really good breakfast selection. I got the California inspired breakfast sandwich (egg whites, tomato, avocado and spinach) on a wheat English muffin. It was healthy but also filling. I ended up ordering one of their specialty lattes. They have their baristas create their own coffee each month which I thought was so fun. It happened to be that the one I had my eye on was created by the barista waiting on me. There were many on their list that sounded delicious. But I went with the blueberry flavored latte. It was not overly sweet which I think a lot of people would appreciate. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. And I would definitely go back for the breakfast options. read more

Tried 'The Club' which is turkey, bacon, apples, Havarti cheese with Zing mayo on a croissant. Very very good! The zing mayo and the apples made the sandwich. The cappuccino is well made. I'm usually hesitant about trying different places for cappuccinos because they do NOT taste the same but ALAS, I wish I lived closer to Zing Cafe because this would be my daily fix. The breakfast sandwiches that my husband and I got for carryout were just OK. Perhaps it was because we got them to go that was the problem: By the time we unwrapped the sandwiches to eat them, they were a bit soggy and soft, as though they had been steaming in their wrappers. Maybe, if you eat there at the cafe, your sandwiches will taste better. I got the California Classic sandwich, which came with egg whites, spinach, tomato, sliced avocado and Swiss cheese, all on an English muffin. It looked to be one of the more health-conscious offerings on their menu, but it needed something to zhuzh it up a bit -- maybe more salt or pepper, or something. I see that they will put Sriracha on your sandwiches for an extra fee. Maybe I should have added hot sauce. My husband got an All American sandwich. Now, if we're talking about the coffee at Zing Cafe: The coffee here gets five stars. If you've read some of my past reviews about coffee (and I'm sure you have them all memorized), I drink my coffee black, so the coffee needs to be drinkable without anything in it. Today was my first visit to Zing! Cafe and it will most definitely not be my last. This cozy cafe was filled with friends and families on a warm Saturday morning, yet they were still able to deliver fast (and delicious) service. I enjoyed the The Big Zing breakfast sandwich on gluten free bread, the turkey sausage was particularly delicious and I deeply appreciated the gluten free bread option. Along with my sandwich I enjoyed their seasonal iced latte flight featuring pistachio, blueberry muffin, love bug, and funnel cake flavors. I can't wait to go back and introduce friends to this lovely cafe, it was the perfect spot for brunch after a long walk through The Village. read more

I'm so glad I walked here this morning! Everyone was so kind to me. I was worried about bringing my dogs, so I called before and asked about if they had somewhere to keep them outside. One of the staff members of Zing told me he would take care of them for me and hold them outside while I ordered! I walked over, he met me at the door, and watched my pups. Not only is that outstanding service, but everyone else was extra kind while I was ordering as well. The croissant is buttery and moist, but not too wet. My iced latte (blueberry muffin latte) is made perfectly and is very refreshing. There is ample seating inside, maybe 6 or 7 tables, as well as some patio seating outside. Love this place! read more

Quiet little coffee and easy brunch cuisine corner in the heart of Zionsville suburbia, I found plenty of parking, good wifi, polite and extra friendly staff, and enjoyable well lit space. Prices seemed normal across a large menu mostly featuring foods and some coffee. I showed for coffee, noticed all lattes were made from pump bottles, decided on trying a hazelnut marshmallow and brown sugar fix. Forgot to bring in my own so was given the goods in traditional plastic, took a second for the flavors to get to know each other going from gross to rather nice, and I can say it's an overall rounded latte. Nothing fancy or award worthy, will not be challenging Commissary or Provider, it is the simple Starbucks alternative that does entirely better than burning low quality beans! There was a steady trickle over my two hours that Thursday, glad it never got extra busy and could work in the corner with an outlet at laptop reach while enjoying this refined and classically decorated space. read more

In town for an extended family visit, I found Zing when looking for a coffee place reasonably close their house. Even better, it was within walking distance so it fit in nicely with my morning routine of going for a walk first thing. The interior is cute and cozy with plenty of seating. The decor is sweet and understated. I had an oat milk latte and a muffin. The latte was a little light, meaning there was more foam than there should have been, but it was good. The muffin was moist and tasty. On another visit, I had a cold brew with toasted marshmallow syrup and milk. The coffee was good but nothing spectacular. Service was consistently good and quick. This is a family-owned place and, based on a conversation I overheard, the new owners just took over in March 2022. I hope to come back for lunch on another visit - the sandwiches look great! read more

Super cute cafe. Food is decent (bacon pre cooked, coffee medium hot, no GF options, no matcha but hey you are in the middle of Indiana... decent food) friendly 2 person staff. The reason for 1 star? LIFO! When we arrived all customers were seated drinking coffee with a dog (cute Lucy! Nice old men!) . One overly friendly old man Jeff seemed to know everyone. Talked to us because he was buying all the cafes baked goods.... Wanted to know if we were looking for a muffin. Lol. We assured him we were good! We placed our $30 order to go. Sat down to wait. Enter 12 customers. We wait. Enter more customers. After allllllllll other customers had left.... We received the last item in our order. A smoothie. That she didn't make until the last customer had left. By then our breakfast sandwiches were cold. I guess Zing uses LIFO not FIFO in creating orders. Back to Starbucks we go. Tried . Disappointed service was so poor. Cute friendly people are great.... But quick service is #1 and non existent here. read more

I can't say how good the food is here since I had just finished eating across the street when I noticed this place. I decided to try one of their smoothies. No matter what flavor you order, they give you the option of making it juice or yogurt based. The staff was prompt on taking my order (at the counter) and my wait was short as they finished someone else order before making mine. The interior is small and cozy though it didn't get too loud. Stopped by before an appointment at the spa across the street. The woman who took my order was very friendly and asked each customer how their day was going. They had lots of breakfast and lunch sandwich options but I wasn't super hungry so I got the banana berry smoothie with a yogurt base. They'll ask if you want a juice or yogurt base and the employee said the yogurt tastes better so I went with her suggestion. It was very good! The perfect treat before heading to my appointment. Not sure I'll drive to this area specifically to go here again but I plan on another spa trip so I'll visit again before my next appointment. Give this place a try if you're in the area! read more

The most disappointing coffee I've had in several years. It's weak and bland with a hint of bitter. I ordered a white chocolate mocha blended, my husband had the same iced. His is undrinkable. Mine is barely drinkable. For $4.69, I expect to enjoy my beverage. It's hardly worth mentioning the atmosphere of a coffee shop with such horrible coffee, but I will. The decor can't decide if it's current, early aughts, or late 90s. All at once it wants to be cheerfully modern, Panera contemporary, and tacky, house-wife industrial. The space is cramped, the table are small (and dirty!), the chairs are uncomfortable. The coffee menu is tacked to the side like an afterthought - which clearly it is. Despite all this, the place is packed. I see a lot of smoothies. Maybe those are ok. Maybe people just don't want to give up a drink that was so expensive. A neighborhood coffee shop nestled in the "utopia" of the Village of West Clay in Carmel. Welcome to the scene, Zing! They've only been open for a month and a half and I hope they stick around. This place is quaint but with room for probably 20-30 people if it's filled to the brim, plus outdoor seating. I love the modern decor! I'm on a chai tea latte kick so I ordered a tall. Zing offers coffee/tea/smoothies, but also breakfast sandwiches, salads, and lunch sandwiches. I was pleased to learn they use a local chai tea by Joy in Noblesville, if I remember correctly. It was solid but had a not-so-great aftertaste - I'm a chai newbie, so maybe this is normal? It got loud at times with the neighborhood kids causing a racket. After they left, it calmed down. Also, there was free guest wi-fi, but it was sloooow. So excited to welcome them to the neighborhood! This is the first time I've had a coffee shop/cafe by me where I can go to work. The environment is very conducive to laptops and meetings, as well as socializing. When you go, you have to try a smoothie. There is a simple list of about fifteen fruit options. You choose three and they make a fresh smoothie in front of you. SO DELICIOUS. I have only been for breakfast and therefore have only had the oatmeal and breakfast sandwiches, but can't wait to try the lunch items (sandwiches, salads, etc). After reading good reviews of the Zing Cafe I was really looking forward to checking them out. So I hopped on the phone and called in a pick up order. The girl who answered and took my order was very nice, helpful, and thorough. When my fiancé went to pick up the order he informed me that the owner was the one who helped him and was very rude. I have to say that is extremely disappointing to hear. People work very hard for their money and my family is very careful with whom we spend it on. We like to vote with our money. It's one of the best ways to make a difference in the world and to see true lasting change. And as we both are in the culinary and hospitality industry we are even more informed on how the food world works. So when we find a business who treats their customers poorly we take notice and usually do not return. I ordered a medium latte with coconut milk, extra hot (to keep it hot during travel time home about 15 minutes), with whipped cream, caramel, and mocha drizzled. The latte was just okay. It was hot when it got home, but there was zero whipped cream, caramel or mocha drizzle. Enter sad face :( I also ordered a California style breakfast sandwich with egg, tomato, spinach, avocado, swiss cheese and pesto on an Asiago bagel. That was decently tasty. Also ordered one of their double chocolate chunk muffins and a blueberry muffin. Those both were good, but $2.99 each. Over all the food was decent, latte not so much, and the customer service from the owner was terrible. I sure do hope it was an off day for them and they don't treat everyone like this. Nice neighborhood cafe with coffee and a small food menu. We've been for breakfast a few times. Sometimes we sit outside if there is a table open but otherwise we will get it to go since we live close. The inside is pretty tiny and usually there are only 2 people working so it can feel chaotic if there are more than a few people in line. I like the bagel breakfast sandwich with an iced coffee. Thrilled to have such a nice cafe within a leisurely bike ride from home. Husband & I are big Starbucks fans but admitted the Vanilla Lattes at Zing have better flavor. We've chosen Zing over competitors many mornings - prices are comparable to Starbucks. The scones are fresh and delicious - enjoyed the apple cinnamon & I heard there will be pumpkin spice this fall. The breakfast sandwich is generously sized and not skimpy on ingredients. We split one just to try and were full. Not greasy and the eggs are real - not that shaker-shaker cardboard carton stuff! And if you request egg whites only, I get the feeling they'd carefully separate an egg fresh to your order. Inside is cozy and busy on weekend mornings. Good number of tables and seats outside, too.
