New favorite coffee spot unlocked! My husband and I stopped by Geist Coffee for the first time this morning since moving to the area, and I'm officially obsessed. Hands down the best coffee shop around, with so many tempting options to choose from. I went for the Blackberry White Mocha Iced Latte--perfectly balanced in flavor--while my husband enjoyed the Go Green smoothie, which was just as refreshing and delicious (and such a gorgeous color!). First things first!! The ambiance, just wow. How beautiful this place is! Upon entering and getting in line, I noticed the dining area and how they have string lights and lanterns hanging from a wooden shed-like structure. It's a very dreamy, warm, and aesthetic space! I love it! Great for studying. In terms of service, the service is very simple and easy. The baristas and cashier are kind and polite. It's a very "quick order and pay" experience but not in a rushed way. I got a hot caramel macchiato and it's balanced in flavor, the good coffee beans, and they gave it to me within a temperature where I could drink it and not burn my tongue but still call it hot. It's not overly sweet but I will say that it could use a bit more "kick" to it. Overall: very pleasant and aesthetically appealing experience! Nothing too special about the coffee tho. read more

This coffee shop offers you a different kind of experience. It's had a cabin feel when you walk in and feels very warm and cozy, the perfect place to have coffee or tea. They have a wide variety of choices with all the diff kinds of milk options. There is plenty of seating both inside and out. The patio is dog friendly and the day I was there, there were several. This is THE coffee spot in Geist! You'll know the moment you walk in because everyone and their mama will be trying to get their Java fix! This place stays packed and for good reason. The ownership and staff are super friendly and work diligently to make sure each order is exactly how the customer wants it. The atmosphere is warm and everyone feels like a regular. There's a business deal happening in one corner, a Bible study happening in another, a student working on a paper by the window, and friends just catching up by the checker table. Life is just happening. My morning go-to is the Naranja Blanco! It only comes in the small size, but it perfectly blends the combo of orange and coffee to feel like a warm good morning! My sandwich of choice is a sausage, egg, and cheese on a jalapeño cheddar bagel (add avocado and sriracha). It's always on point! My only knock is that sometimes it's too packed and you can't find an open table. However, it's worth the wait! Can't wait until it warms up and the outdoor seating is an option. read more

I love stopping here every time I walk the fall creek trail. It's a celebration of passing the half way mark of my 10 mile journey. Today I stopped with my two boys and sprung for a treat. Archer (8) got a hot chocolate with whipped cream and Oliver (11) got a Carmel macchiato. Both boys very much enjoyed their drinks. I had a nitro cold brew with a shot of vanilla. I guess the drink has its origins in South Africa, but it was new to me. Very tasty, with a rich flavor profile. I appreciated the barista's willingness to explain some of these different drinks to me, to assist in my order. Notably, Geist has ample seating and rustic decor. I've always enjoyed coming to Geist Coffee ever since one of my friends suggested we try it. It has a very homey feel, which is expected from a family-owned business. The seasonal drinks are always very great creations. I personally love the blackberry white mocha latte from the summer seasonal drinks and I also recommend the house specialty naranja blanco which has a little kick to it (cayenne)! Snickerdoodle cookies as thick as a hockey puck, I tell ya! A delicious, chewy, cakey, cinnamony, perfectly baked hockey puck. I know I'm not making these cookies sound very good by comparing them to a hockey puck, but just go with me here as I construct this shoddy simile. These cookies are thick. Geist Coffee sells other cookies, but frankly, when snickerdoodles are on the menu, no other cookies exist in my mind. Though I'm pretty sure I saw some chocolate chip cookies in the display case, if you're into non-snickerdoodle options. We also got a cranberry orange muffin, which was delicious, as well. Even my children thought it was great -- they devoured more of it than I did. You never can tell what a child will like, especially when it comes to non-traditional muffin flavors like cranberry orange, but they loved it and I loved that they loved it. The coffee is great, too -- we got it black, and it was perfectly roasted and not at all bitter. They sell a wide selection of Nelson's Tea, too. Chai is one of my favorites from Nelson's, and they sell it here! It's loose leaf tea and they scoop it into little tea bags. I got all of my food and drinks to go, but I wish I would have stayed a while because the dining room is super cozy. Like another reviewer said, it looks like a cabin in there. I stopped by Geist Coffee on my way home from a quick trip to the reservoir for a little rest and renewal after work. Geist rests on the corner of a popular spot at the corner of Brooks School Road and Fall Creek Road right off Geist Reservoir. Geist Coffee has a warm interior that is nicely situated for pandemic relaxation, though they also have a very nice patio as the weather gets warmer. While I've been inside once, on this particular day I decided to try out the drive-thru that I'd never noticed before but actually existed pre-pandemic. It's kind of an awkward drive-thru as you have to drive around the back of the building via the Detour American Grille side and that will wind you over to the Geist Coffee window. This is a fairly casual window - you pull up to the window, ring the bell, place your order, and it's delivered to you fairly quickly. They were clearly monitoring the window as I did not ring the bell because I'm, well, a bit of a doofus. They have a menu at the window. I didn't see iced coffee, but upon inquiry was told they have it. I don't recall that they had prices on the menu, but Geist is the kind of area where if you live there you can probably afford coffee. I ordered a large iced coffee and it came in at about $4.50. It struck me as a bit high for the serving size (I don't live at Geist. These things matter). However, it was smooth and tasty and I have no regrets. The two employees who I met with briefly were helpful and friendly. Both were masked. Geist Coffee is noted as having farmer direct, locally roasted and handcrafted products. It's locally and family owned. Prior to the pandemic, it was certainly a gathering place for the area and I have no doubt will return to being so once things calm down. My understanding is they will also serve up pup cups, though I have no pup so I needed no cups. With the pandemic still influencing behavior, I've really started to take note of those places offering drive-thru. While this drive-thru is a bit odd, it's convenient and the employees are friendly. This was a very chill coffee shop, when I came it wasn't very busy. I got the spring special; honey lavender latte. It was sooooo good!! They had several seasonal drinks to choose from, which I love!! A rose shaken espresso sounds amazing! I got a small cinnamon sugar donut, it was good but I would try another delicious looking muffin next time. This place just feels average to me. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I decided to try the flying pig and the carmilla latte. The sandwich I got on their jalapeño bagel which wasn't anything special. The sandwich was just okay, the latte was terrible their espresso had a very bitter flavor. The fireplace is a nice touch so I could see coming and enjoying that maybe just try the coffee next time. This is my go-to coffee shop when I want to indulge in quality coffee and concoctions! The ambiance inside is very warm and cozy, think cabin somewhere out West. The have a drive-up which is great for moms like myself that cannot take four boys under four inside. Now, onto why I had to knock off a star. The service is hit or miss. It's very very inconsistent which is frustrating at times because I would love to keep supporting a small biz. I used to go 3x a week here but the service just became so bad. No one seems to know what's going on and I have had to sit waiting for one coffee for 35 minutes. I love the owners they are ridiculously sweet people but some of their staff (managers especially) are not delivering on the service front. Not only did the shop have plenty of free parking outside their door, but inside, the place looked inviting and well kept. Very quiet vibe so that if you wanted to spend a little time working here, it seemed like you could go undisturbed. Although they offer a lot of pastries (and sandwiches until 3 pm), I simply wanted a nice black coffee that was drinkable without burning my tongue or tasting bitter. This cafe will transport you to a sweet, little log cabin where you can enjoy your latte by the fire. Geist has plenty of seating, string lights, free Wifi, and a great menu. What more could you need in a coffee shop? I've been here a couple times now and the staff is always super friendly! They know the menu like the back of their hand and they're willing to joke around with me when I order. I particularly enjoy the unique menu items. They experiment with your everyday cafe beverages and make fun combinations out of them. I've ordered the maple macchiato and cinnamon white mocha and both were great! The espresso isn't very strong, but it pairs well with the sweetness of the drinks. There are many more drinks on the menu I am excited to try. The food I ordered was also pretty good!
