We had such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is always fun and lively, and the whole place has such a great vibe. Our server EZ was fantastic--so friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. While the inside looks beautiful and the menu has a good selection of items, the food itself is very average, at best. The stuffed grapes leaves, which is usually a favorite of mine wherever I order it, did not deliver. The rice inside had a bite to it and wasn't cooked all the way through. We ordered the tabbloueh, a dip (I forget if it was hummus or one of the eggplant ones they have), and wings which were ok. The meat lovers pizza was good and definitely hit the spot. The dessert was a miss. We ordered the Knafeh cheesecake which was not good. The knafeh was soggy and missed the crunch you typically expect from that dish. It also does not have a separate hookah area so if that is a problem for you, be advised. Went to Zio Al's Signature and was really disappointed. They automatically added an 18% gratuity to the bill and never mentioned it till time to pay. Even the water was $2, which no one told us ahead of time. The fans weren't working, so it got uncomfortable, and the smell from the hookah kept drifting into the non-smoking area. Service was slow, and overall it just felt like they don't tell customers everything upfront. Definitely not going back. On a good note the pizza was good! Perfect for 20-40 guests. it's not just a pizza spot, it's also a hookah lounge. Yep, each table has its own hookah setup, and they've got a special area tucked in the back .. so you can enjoy nothing but hookah. The pizza was just as amazing: soft, chewy crust, generous amount of toppings, and it was still delicious the next day (rare achievement in the pizza world). Thank you Zio. Zio's is expanding its empire, and in a surprising twist, Allen got the first Signature location. This spot has everything you wish the OG Zio's had: attentive, proactive wait staff, friendly professionalism, ample parking, and way more indoor seating. No outdoor option, but the bathrooms have more than one stall, the menu is large, and the food is made to order. Lux touches like embossed silverware and elegant plating make it feel elevated. My only feedback is that they need to invest in a better digital menu. Wing flavors should be listed under "wings" and breakfast/brunch items deserve their own section. I have ordered from Zio Al's countless times from multiple locations since they are open late, have halal options, and good pizza variety. We decided to check out this location because we knew this was a new concept with a hookah lounge inside. We did not come here to eat, just to hang out after dinner. Naturally, there was some good and some bad. PROS: Our waiter was great. We did not like one of the drinks we ordered, and he swapped it out for something of his own recommendation. Hookah is good (3.5/5). We tried the White Gummy, Watermelon Mint, and The Signature. I preferred the White Gummy and Watermelon Mint. They do a good job of swapping out coals as necessary. Their hot tea and chocolate mousse were pretty good. CONS: The banana matcha is horrible . Don't do it. lol. None of their lattes or drinks are anything to write home about and are mediocre at best. We had 5 people with 3 hookahs and they originally only gave us 4 plastic tips for the hookah . When asking for more to accommodate everyone, the server quickly rebutted with 'it's only 2 tips per hookah'. Clearly, he didn't see our other hookah, but it's a weird policy to try to make a big deal over. read more

Came here with a friend to check out their new location in Allen. We got a medium pizza, half buffalo and half meat lovers. The pizza came out pretty fast. Service was really good and and as for the taste of the pizza, it was really delicious. PB suggested we go to Zio Al after he got off work. He had a great experience previously at this location, so I went along. This place is located in the strip mall near Target. It was after 11pm on Sunday and it was packed with customers. We were seated right away and TBH, we felt very welcome and inviting. This establishment is what I understand a Halal Italian eatery. I wanted to try their dish, but I wasn't that hungry, I tried their garlic cheese bread and they were good. PB ordered Lasagna(came with good size garlic bread)and nice looking salad. We ordered soft drink and lemonade. They have all sorts of beverages and coffee etc. staff were very friendly and very attentive. We learned that 18% tip is already included which was perfect. We will definitely return. The only thing we will do different is maybe, we will come here during the week as weekends, it's very busy. They also have hookahs and game tables. read more

DO NOT order from this place. We ordered 4 pizzas at 11:45 AM and selected DELIVERY on their website. Our receipt clearly says delivery. After waiting over an hour with no food, we called to check on the order. The employee told us they "don't have delivery" even though it was literally an option on their website and on our receipt. Instead of helping fix the problem, the girl on the phone hung up on us. We asked for a refund since the food was never delivered, and they refused to give it to us. So we waited over an hour for pizza that was never coming, got hung up on when we tried to ask about it, and they kept our money. That's terrible customer service and completely unacceptable. I decided to stop in at Zio Al's Pizza & Pasta since it's new and give it a try. It was quite interesting. I thought it was an Italian restaurant by the name, but in fact it's Mediterranean and Italian. That makes it easy if you are torn between eating Mediterranean or eating Italian. The service was A+. The servers were very attentive. The server ensured the order was precise and accurate. He was very joyful and pleasant to be around. Food was an A+. The food came out hot and fresh. The pasta even came with bread, and the pizza was tasty with great cheese pull. There were a couple of things that I experience displeasure with. The first I did not like the fact that it was a hookah lounge. I feel that needs to be made clear as you are walking in. Maybe name it Zio Al's Pizza & Pasta and Hookah Lounge. 2) The restaurant automatically adds gratuity to every bill. I went to tip the server and found this out at the end. To me this is unacceptable. If service is horrible the server still is rewarded with a tip. When you add the tip in the customer is not given an opportunity to evaluate the service. Finally customers are not notified at any point that gratuity is automatically added, you don't know this until the bill comes out. So please be aware that gratuity is automatically added to your bill. read more
