We really like this little neighborhood restaurant. The food was good, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was really nice and well-seasoned. The salad was fresh, but the tomato vinaigrette was a bit too acidic for me. The bread is very tasty, but it gets chewy after a few minutes, maybe because it's heated in the microwave?! (Im assuming). The lady that served was polite, ambiance is ok i mean is a small restaurant. You sit , eat , pay and out! Overall, I'd go back -- especially for the pasta! P.s. We have been customers of Italian Villa since 1995. Recently every time we order a pizza for pick-up it's either so raw in the center or the crust is so thin that it doesn't exist at all. It's pretty much soup. We are so dissatisfied that we may have to quit ordering pizza. Moved into Allen just a day ago and saw this place only a short half mile walk away. Being an avid Italian fan and looking for a good meal after unloading all my stuff into my new apartment I was famished and definitely looking for a good sized meal, and boy was I treated with exactly what I was looking for. Their Penne alla Vodka was just what I needed after all my hard work earlier, and my server was constantly checking on if my tea needed to be refilled. $20-30 Place a delivery order around 8:25pm. Whoever took my order told me it will take about 25 mins. 9:14 I call the restaurant and the "manager" in charge told me they had about 6 orders and I had to wait. I'm about 1mile away from the restaurant. Food was cold. (Pizza was cold, salad was wilted and not salad dressing and the garlic bread was cold and hard as rock). Call the manager and she point blank asked me to bring the food back so they can refund my money or they can make just the pizza again. In the mean time she said the driver was back to the restaurant. Less than 5 minutes after he left my place. So how can the driver be back in less than 5mins to the restaurant but it took them one hour to deliver my food??? Further more the "manager" said that I was trying to scam the restaurant. Just okay. We came here for a party and our host had rented out a back room. I have to say, the staff did a really wonderful job accommodating everyone. It was a large group of around 30 people and I was impressed at how well the staff handled it. The food came out fairly quickly, everyone's checks were split, and it was all very organized. The experience with the staff and how they handled our large party was definitively a 5 star experience. That said, the food definitely left a lot to be desired. It was edible, but definitely just okay. Given, we were on a fixed menu due to the size of the party, so maybe there are also things that would've been more tasty. I ordered the stuffed shells and had a small salad to start. The salad was drenched in dressing, which really ruined the entire thing to be honest. The shells themselves were okay. The filling was decent, but the shells themselves were a bit overcooked and left them pretty chewy. They also melted giant slices of mozzarella over them, so it was difficult to cut into them because of the sheer amount of cheese. Overall, the staff were wonderful, but the food was not memorable. My boyfriend went in to eat while he had an hour off for lunch. As time passes he request a to go box because he only has 1 hour to eat. They did not give him his box until he paid for his food. I'm not sure why Yelp decided to create an other profile for me just because I looked for restaurants in Gainsville once but it won't let me delete the profile so I continually end up writing reviews on a profile that does not represent me. Not enough stars to give them. My family and I had lunch on Saturday at Italian Villa and the whole experience was wonderful! This place is a true gem tucked away in a little shopping center. The place was clean, pleasing to the eye and well lit for a Saturday afternoon. I'm sure in the evening there are lower lights for a more romantic experience but with grandchildren we needed the light. We started with appetizers Fried Calamari, Mussels, Mushrooms and Mozzerella Caprese. Everything was delicious. I'm not a big fan of tomatoes but the Mozzerella Caprese had the best tasting tomatoes I've had in a long time. They have quite a selection for the lunch specials. We each got our own lunch special and we all liked what we got. I ordered the chicken Guisseppe. The chicken was tender and cooked with sautéed mushrooms, garlic, green onions, in a Marsala wine sauce with a touch of Marinara. I need to stay gluten free so I had the gluten free penne with my meal. There was so much food most of us took some home. I can say mine was even better that night for dinner. The rolls looked incredibly good, but I dare not try them. I'm sure they would have been delicious like everything else but my body would not have been happy. As it is the breading on the calamari was a cheat, but didn't do the damage that bread and regular pasta would have done. Our waitress Shannon was exceptional and another server, Justin, was very helpful in making a reservation and having our table all set up and ready for us upon arrival with a very friendly greeting. Life is so busy for everyone and we don't always have the time to get together as a family as often as we would like so we just recently started having family dinner/lunches together once a month. We are giving the kids the opportunity to try different cuisines. My two kids have Italian blood by their father so this was heritage as well as an epicurean sampling. I just encountered the most unprofessional service from this restaurant. A meal was missing from our GrubHub order. I first called the driver and texted him and got no response so I called the restaurant. The lady that answered the phone told me that there were two bags. At first I said we got two bags, but what I meant was there were two white paper bags inside one of the plastic bags. After she put me on hold and told me to call GrubHub because her kitchen staff said the driver took two bags I realized she meant two plastic bags. When I tried to tell her this she got VERY nasty and told me I was changing my story. If she would have listened to me, the customer, she would have understood that I misunderstood her and that is why I was then asking if the driver had actually taken two bags. She then hung up on me.
