Small ,calm, quaint restaurant that is in stark contrast to the busy frontage road traffic that you pull off of in order to get to the restaurant . You walk in to a nice fragrance, beautiful artwork on the walls and smooth R&B music. We were given our choice of sitting wherever we would like. Quickly chose a seat and was greeted by Naomi. She made a few recommendations and actually got us to try a combo that wasn't even on the menu. We got a sampler that included #1, #2 and #5. And a side of cabbage, collards and green bean dish. All were very flavorful. Before the meal, my wife had a ginger tea (10/10) and after the meal I had a hot tea (cinnamon tea (5/10)). All in all a delicious meal, good service and fair prices. The beef dish was a tad overcooked for my taste. I would just give some direction to not cook the beef as much but everything else was great. 9/10 would go back. read more

We found this place by accident and oh what a happy accident it was! I was craving Ethiopian food for a while and had just mentioned it...then driving down the highway I saw Zions sign from the road! Serendipity. We had the delicious combination plate as well as a chicken dish. Sauces, Teff, and food was all amazing. The service was excellent. We will go back. read more

My husband and I came here for dinner last night and wow, the best Ethiopian restaurant we've been to! We had the kitfo wraps which had a wonderful spice to sprinkle on top as well as the Azawe beef tibs and vegetable platter which they combined into one. We even got extra injera on the side. Each bite was tastier than the one before. Our server was the daughter of the owner and she was very personable. I wish more people continue to find out about this place because it is incredible! I think they did a great job with the interior for where the location is. It was very clean and nicely decorated. We came here for dinner thinking it was next door to the Indian restaurant that used to be here, turns out, it replaced where the Indian restaurant was. It is BYOB FYI! All in all the selling point is the wonderful lovely prepared food! More people should try and eat Ethiopian! It was a great price point to regarding the location and surrounding area! read more

This place is wonderful. Fast service, convenient location, and prices that won't break the bank. Best of all, the food was delicious. We had the veggie combo and the Al-Awaze Tibs which is a semi spicy beef dish. It all came on one big platter. When we are in the mood for Ethiopian, this is the spot. EDIT: I wrote the review before the bill came. The bill included a 4% admin fee. I asked the server what that was for. She said she didn't know. I'm deducting a star. read more

My son was craving Ethiopian food, so I hopped on Yelp to find a new place to try. We all love Ethiopian cuisine and wanted to explore somewhere different, which is how we ended up at Zion. When we first walked in, we were warmly greeted by the woman behind the counter. She brought us menus and water right away. The dining area had a laid-back, almost country-western vibe, like it may have once been a saloon once, but it was clean and inviting. The menu featured all the classic Ethiopian dishes we're familiar with, and we were eager to dig in. We started with the appetizers: Sambusas and fully cooked Kitfo wraps. For our entrees, we ordered the Doro Wat and the Ethiopian veggie combo. Everything was fresh and delicious. My youngest son loved the Sambusas so much that he ordered a second order just for himself! The Kitfo wraps were also tasty and the meat was well seasoned and flavorful. The Ethiopian veggie combo was full of flavor and not overly oily, which we appreciated. The Doro Wat was solid as well. Service was a little spotty, we had to ask for plates, napkins and refills, but other than that we had a good time. All in all we would come back to try out a few of their other dishes. read more

We absolutely love Zion Ethiopian! The food is generously portioned and delicious, and the proprietors are so friendly and lovely. We were a birthday party of 12. Our server was a lovely young lady who did a great job. I love the Yebeg Wat with generous amounts of injera. I think they only recently opened and they still need to somewhat upgrade the interior from the former Indian restaurant that was there before. We will definitely go here again. read more

This place was AMAZINGGGG the second I walked in I felt welcome and met the owner an her daughters and they all are so nice! Thy made sure I knew what foods were good and made amazing suggestions! They also offered some traditional Ethiopian coffee (which was amazing) that they roast in house! It's smoky , earthy and very homey and I urge you to ask about the coffee ritual it's perfect to experience with friends! I got the kitfo wrap which was DIVINE they give you the option to lightly cook it or eat it raw (I recommend raw trust!) and the doro wot was so filling and delicious the veggies were seasoned to perfection and the meat was cooked perfectly and the ambiance was so comforting and warm! The decor was so pretty and the general atmosphere was welcoming and so homely it was refreshing to experience from a restaurant setting. I recommend this place 100% even if you haven't had Ethiopian food before this place will have you hooked!!! read more

I'm in Dallas for business, and was really wanting Ethiopian food tonight. I had the Ye-Awaze Tibs with beef, and it was delicious. Tender, nicely spicy, and very well seasoned.
