A slight overcook on the poached eggs but still had the golden glaze. Tater were cooked perfectly with the outer crunch and inner fluff. Was not done there because the half order of biscuits and gravy were calling my name. Have it with a sausage patty and the bonus will not disappoint. Scratch made takes time to cook which was all right by me. Everything was really darn good and earned my Love the speakeasy vibe downstairs too. Service was good and very attentive. Good service, interesting art…read more That said, 2/3rds of us disliked our food. The pesto salmon pasta was good, I tried a bite and agreed. The porter biscuit sandwich was so bad I asked them to remake it. The second time it was less burnt but still overcooked and the batter was too unpleasant to eat. The last of us had bourbon pecan chicken. It was better than my sandwich but didn't really taste like chicken due to so much seasoning or marinade (I tried a bite of it as well) and the grits were similarly over saturated with some sort of flavoring. Expensive!

Beware of the "5 Star" Reviews…read more Offering free drinks/apps in exchange. I do want to point out that I never submit reviews. Went in and sat down quick, yet the food took over an hour. We sat, ordered drinks along with the food when we got there. After we realized the people around us that arrived significantly later were already paying to leave, we got up to ask about our food as it had easily been 40 minutes. Got told it would be a couple of minutes, gave us waters. Mind you, we are now over an hour into waiting. Food started to roll out and we kept getting offered free chips in the meantime- sorry but this solves the situation how? We are now going to be full of chips and not food. 2 of the meals still took an extra 20 min after the majority rolled out and of course, my parents' food came out COLD. What were we waiting for on this exactly? A lady, who I am assuming is the manager, came to apologize, told us she would remove the 2 items from the ticket. We were understanding. However, she then admitted they dropped the ball- this is where this place really lost us. She stated that they tried to reheat the plates and just pass it as "fresh." Thank you for finally being honest but this truly just gave me a bad image of management. I felt like they just threw the team under the bus. We asked for the check and when we asked if she did comp the 2 plates, she gave an attitude responding, "I did, I fixed it" and then proceeded to send someone else to check us out. That is not how you manage or take ownership. As a manager myself, you take care of the person full on through to try and turn the situation around. Had she done that or had the staff communicated that they messed up when we had initially asked, we would've been completely fine instead all that happened here. We were in there for about 2.5 hours. Unfortunately left disappointed due to the good reviews we initially saw.

Stopped into Native Blends today and loved it!…read more My family stayed in the car while I ran in -- Elmer, the owner, was setting up chairs, but he immediately paused to take my order. Even when I told him there was no rush, he was attentive, kind, and ready to help. Super polite and easy to talk to. Ordered three smoothies -- the Blind Sally was a big hit with my husband and son (sweet, fresh, and flavorful). I had the Aquarena, which was nice and tart and exactly what I wanted. Everything tasted very fresh. The shop is clean, well kept, and has a cool, youthful vibe with some clothing and items to look through. We chatted briefly about my neighbor who recommended the place and their bowls -- I'll definitely be back with the kiddos to try those! Great experience overall. Friendly owner, quality smoothies, and a spot definitely worth supporting!

They have a variety of options but we opted for the acai bowl, large, to share. You can pretty much make your own bowl, though adding extra toppings beyond a set amount costs more. Everything tasted fresh, service was quick, and the interior was cozy and festive for the holidays. It'd be five stars if they had more topping options and didn't charge for additional toppings, or more than one base (either way it's only enough to fill the cup).

Didn't have patience for Crafthouse's service pace or downtown parking. Chef here's been flexible and fun, and I knew there was a spacious lot and likely a quiet atmosphere. When I arrived, the bar seating was nearly full plus a table of perhaps five. Country music played, I took a booth in the back. My favorite steak is gone from their re-done menu, and it was too busy for Chef to pop out and chat, if he still works here. They were out of real eggs, so I got a cheeseburger and a side of broccoli. When the waitress asked if I wanted bacon since I couldn't have the egg, I said sure. My Lynchburg lemonade was heavy on the lemon but good with the liquor, and that burger was undisputedly enormous. The broccoli was in good condition and generous. A request for soda was forgotten but rectified. Different employee brought the bill, which (1) did not reflect my 10% discount for check-in (I'd showed my waitress; she hit the button on my phone to accept it) and (2) while the menu says add bacon for $.50, I was charged $2.50. It was a big meal and I thought they might be a little shorthanded, so I didn't feel it worth the fuss. Just saying you should check your tab. Cheeseburger (add bacon) with side of broccoli, one Coke and an alcoholic drink for $26 before tip.
