I only gave a one star because I had to if I wanted to write a review. No communication. You need to be proactive every step of the way or you will NOT ever hear from them. Expect to be on hold minimum of 30 minutes every time you call. Promises are made but not followed through. Rude customer service. The drivers and unloaders are subcontracted by Mesa. STOP!!! DO NOT USE ZIPPYSHELL UNTIL YOU READ THIS! We had a very poor experience with Zippyshell (ZP) and from the review it seems as if we are not the only ones. We set up a contract with the group and they claimed on the call that we would get 3 movers for four hours. When ZS showed up with the POD, there were only two movers, and they said they only work for 3 hours. Make sure you have the language in your contract, our contract called out "team," a tricky way to screw you. They ended up charging us $55 an hour extra but did not discuss this charge until the movers had left with our stuff. Another way to extort more money out of you. The contract read 8 to 10 business days before ZS would deliver our container. Mind you, when I purchase something from Amazon, I get an update every step of the way. ZS has no way of tracking your POD, which seems extremely unprofessional and is par for the course with this company. The POD showed up on the 12th day and ZS did not send movers as contracted to help unload the POD. We are also waiting for our refund which has not come yet. Please do not use this company, they are cheap, and you get what you pay for. They are unprofessional and will try to charge you extra at every turn. This company should be reported to the Better Business Bureau and those of us that have had these terrible experiences should band together and start a class-action lawsuit. read more

This company is the worst moving company I've ever worked with. In this instance, cheaper is not the better way to go. Instead of dropping my shells off 8 to 10 days after pick up, they showed up 22 days after pickuo. This was after they showed up at my house two days later than they were supposed to, because they said "we had you marked down for pick up last week". They barely offered an apology, even though I have been living in my house for nearly a month with no bed for my children to sleep on, none of their toys to keep them entertained, no television to pass the time, no refrigerator to keep my food cold, no washer and dryer to wash the weeks worth of clothes that I brought with, no chairs to sit out on, and no table to sit out for dinner for 22 days. They did not even offer any sort of refund or deal for not showing up when they were supposed to, I'm dropping off my house we later than expected. When I called to ask where my things were naturally I was heated and I used the word "HELL", and I was met with A religious nut that hung up on me for being "vulgar", The only positive note about this whole experience, was the local movers they hired (U Pack, We move)in Houston that were very nice very personable, unexpectedly put my beds together for me, and apologized on behalf of zippy since zippy couldn't even bother. You just can't find a better guy to deal with in such a short notice. We only had 2 wks to get out of a 4 bed 2.5 bath house with a 2-car garage. Alex delivered earlier than planned and helped schedule the drop off to work around our crazy schedule. Alex with Zippy Shell was fantastic to work with!! The price for our move from Sugar Land, Tx to Sedona AZ was very reasonable. Alex shoes up on time and when he found out we were going to need another shell he got it delivered right away! Then when we were too tired to load another shell he got us movers for the next morning and they were done in 1 1/2 hours!! The movers were only 249 dollars to load the the largest shell they have!!! DO NOT utilize this company for your moving and storage needs. I did a long distance move with them on July 22nd and I am still unable to get my things. I wasn't contacted to be informed about the delay, and after calling customer service multiple times a day, I am still unable to talk to a manager. They promised a 48 hr turn around time when it gets to the warehouse and that also has not happened. My trailer arrived at the warehouse on the 11th, and I was told the earliest date for drop off is the 17th. DO NOT... DO NOT use them for your move. A long distance move is stressful enough. The last thing you need is to deal with a company that isn't proactive, responsive, doesn't have an empathetic customer service team or does not compensate enough for the inconvenience. Spend the extra money and use a company that will deliver your things on time. read more

I highly recommend Zippy Shell! I was in the process of purchasing a new house when I was selling my old house. I planned to have a seamless transition, however, the new house fell through and I had 2 months in between my two houses. As I didn't want to have to move my stuff multiple times (from the old house, to a storage unit, then to the new house), I started searching for pods. Zippy Shell was by far the best pricing. I called Alex, in tears, and he was so gracious and helpful! Moving is so stressful but Alex and Zippy Shell made the process so much easier! Alex was clear about the product he was selling, the documentation was easy, and the movers were great! Overall, unbeatable pricing & FANTASTIC customer service! Alex with Zippy Shell was great to work with. The prices were the best I could find and the set-up process was easy. Much better than storing my items in a storage unit and having to move them twice. They arrived with the Zippy Shell on time and brought the next ones quickly. I used a moving service that Alex works with. They were very nice and did a great job. I did have some damage to my bed but they took it and are having it professionally repaired. Overall I was very happy with the Zippy Shell service and would recommend them. read more

I do not recommend Zippy Shell unless you want your property to be broken. I had to work with Alex while prepping for our move which he was very understanding and easy to work with in the beginning. Until it came time to deliver our stuff. We moved from Houston to Austin and Zippy Shell kept our things in storage for a little over a month...by 2 days. Read your contract very carefully because if you have any complaints Alex's rebuttal is always "it's in the contract" our things were moved out of the unit without disclosure into a moving truck. I was not present to monitor the move, but needless to say my boxes looked like they lost a rugby match. It was like they literally threw the boxes into a moving truck and smashed as much as they could make the delivery on time. We had purchased locks for our units, but Alex never said that they were going to cut the locks (he says its in the contract). We questioned Alex why was our things moved into another moving truck (he said it's in the contract). I was trying to get my delivery before I had to pay $540 in storage fees (had 3 pods), but Alex said he couldn't make the deliver and that I would be charged. I had scheduled my move on a 7/30/2018 on a Monday, and I had confirmed with Alex several times and the move day he said he got confused and thought it was on 7/31/2018 Tuesday. Didn't compensate us for having to take a day off from work to wait on our things that wouldn't be coming in that day. He was basically being a jerk about the entire arrangement and again stated "it's in the contract." Well, after this experience with Alex Hodges and Zippy Shell he can take his contract and shove it up his ass. Do yourself a favor and save yourself a headache. If you love your belongings and want them intact...find someone else. If you don't care if your property gets broken and late give Zippy Shell a call. I'm sure Alex is an ass free of charge. read more
