Not the best experience and I might need to go check my bank account to see if I was double charged. Pulled up after a 12 Hour Rd. trip to visit my friend in North Carolina and just wanted my vehicle not be covered in bugs, only to end up sitting and staring at a screen that wouldn't take my card for 10 minutes. Then. Like a not smart person, tried another credit card. After being stuck there for a few, an attendant came and helped put cash in. The explanation was the machine was acting up. Moved to the entrance and expected the worker to hose down, he did not. Asked me to roll down the window and proceeded to say, I didn't ask if you wanted to tip, did you want to tip? Gave up two dollars politely. Note: I usually tip more. Got the car wash, went over to the vacuums, and I always carry a towel with me and went to wipe down my car. Still had bird poop streaks all over the place dead flies and such on the bumpers and the hood. Sure I picked the option to have wax on the wheels... Those did not seem particularly shiny. Just not impressed. Happy I don't have to return. read more

So far, I've not had the issues other reviewers have written about here. I usually just get the basic $16 wash and it does a fair-to-good job, nothing spectacular. The one thing I've not been able to figure out is how the "membership" works, what it includes, etc. - I've asked two employees on two different occasions about it and neither one could explain it adequately so I don't bother with it, which is probably a good thing based on what I've read from others about it here. Anyway, I'm giving a 4-star rating based on my experiences getting the basic wash. Beyond that, I can't comment. read more

After that the automatic conveyor grabs hold of your tires and does the rest, pushing you forward through the car wash. Need to vacuum? No problem. Clayton, North Carolina. Where to start? Well, at the pre-wash. You're lucky if the guy with the hose gets the front and ONE side, while completely ignoring the other sides. One of the pay lanes are often down, or both are completely coned off. The bar code scanner never seems to work right. The sides of the car are barely touched, going through the wash. I usually have to microfiber them to get it right. The rinse cycle stinks, as it leaves a TON of soap left on the rear end when I'm out. The blower doesn't even remotely dry the car, as the aforementioned soap is still there. I have the plan with the "tire shine," but the tires still come out dirty and dull. They used to put bottles of tire shine at the vacuum station, but not anymore. That at least used to help out with getting the car looking right. And, last...since I'm getting tired of typing...the vacuums are weak, IF they work at all. Most customers are muttering the same complaints I am, as we vacuum, so it's NOT just me! Cancelling my membership at the end of this month and going to Sam's Express up the road. I'm literally watching their process as I type this from the Hardee's next door. For their pre-wash, a guy actually takes a microfiber brush and gets EVERY side of the car, to include the typically bug-splattered front bumper. At Zip's, I have to do the front end myself AFTER the wash, because their process and wash is completely ineffective at removing bugs. I'm done, Zip's. You'd better improve your location, or Sam's is gonna out you out to pasture. Soon. You got lazy with your work ethic and cheap with maintaining your equipment. Attendant did not rinse truck prior to entering car wash. Iasked why and he said the hose dosen't work. I ask what else doesn't work. He said the side brushes do not work either. I asked for a refund. After atttendant spoke to manager he said no refunds will be issued. I had to wash my truck again after I got home. I will not be returning to ZIPS. read more

Went there today for the first time. Upon entering the car wash area, the big rollers came up to us with no water or suds being sprayed before the brushes touched the car. After exiting the car wash, we pulled up to the vacuum area. The vacuums were totally useless as they had barely any suction! Walked around the car - hood was still covered with bugs, all the floor panels on the outside of the car were literally still as dirty as before we even got to the car wash! Great wash and vacuums that actually work well! Clean place. Now zips. The drive thru wash is more expensive now and does seem to get the car as clean anymore. Did it get the dirt off my truck? Yes. It did. Did it also damage the wax on the truck? Also, yes. Luckily it buffed out and just needs to be rewaxed in that spot. Another great reason why you keep wax or some sort of protection on your paint. Vacuums are basically useless. You're better off blowing the dirt out of your vehicle using your mouth. Not even kidding. They don't suck... which is the problem. read more

Once, this was a good car wash. When Zips bought it, they immediately started cutting services. For the last year, whenever you go, something is broken....and it takes weeks or months to see it repaired, only to have something else break down. They've been without vacuums for almost two months. Before that it was the left side of the tunnel that didn't work, so half your car got washed. For the last three weeks, it's been the top brush which spins but doesn't drop...so your hood, windshield and top don't get touched. Best thing that could happen to this facility is to have Zips sell it to someone who wants to run a car wash. Zips certainly doesn't. Suggest you spend your money elsewhere. About a mile and a half down the road is Clayton Auto Spa, who will actually wash your car. read more

Went to this carwash in December and the guy working there offered me unlimited car washes for the month at the price of one wash. I asked him if it was a subscription and if I would be auto charged next month and he told me no. Here I am in January with an auto charge of $34.94. Went to wash car today. All the lanes were closed except 1. I went to do a manual wash and swiped my cc and nothing. It was on but the cc would not read. No one to help. It's been months and the tires are not being washed still. I will have to find another car wash this one is not kept up and all full of excuses. Last week the tires didn't get cleaned and at least they had some spray bottles with tire cleaner in it and clean rags to do it myself even though I paid for it. Today same thing no tires are cleaned and why pay someone to do it if it's not being done. They will start losing a lot of business now because people are catching on what's happening. The machine did not give me no change when I used cash another issue. And as someone else stated the covers are not on parts of the machines that supposed to have covers on and today they had an orange tie down on one of the machines. I've been to this car wash a few times. It provides a basic clean but certainly not worth the value of their most expensive wash. In my most recent experience my car shifted while on the tracks and essentially short dropped my vehicle to get it back aligned. My tires (which were brand new...as in I just left the tire shop and drove straight to the car wash) were scraped up and there was a gash on my car. The tires were not so much as issue, as the damage would eventually wear off. However the gash was a different story. The employees took an "incident" report that was never submitted. I went back to see what had become of it and was told it was never submitted. I left my information again and was never contacted. Even if they were not going to pay for the damage their business/equipment caused my vehicle, it would have been professional to at least call. I will never visit this establishment again and will never recommend it. read more

An attendee did this to me in December and it happened again when I stopped by and entered the $13.99 wash on the computer myself. I was charged $13.99, $19.99, and $19.99 again the following month. This has to be illegal. The won't respond via email and a rude when you call them, so I've submitted a permanent block on my account and will NEVER stop there again. read more

If I could give negative starts I would. This location damaged my $80k truck to the tone of $3500. The day it happened one of the staff was threatening and arguing with a disabled man. The district manager agreed that it was there fault and agreed to pay for the damages. Then they keep changing the management staff. Then they lost my estimate that I gave them luckily I saved them. This incident happened the day after Thanksgiving and it is now mid may and no resolution as of now. Do not to this location. Rude, Aggressive, and lying staff. I love this place. Great washes and love the vacuum set-up at the end to really clean up the inside and trash cans to clean out your trash. Great for a quick express wash or a manual wash. Today after I went through, I was vacuuming my car when one of the guys came by and said they didn't get all of the squashed bugs off the front of my car, so when I was done, to come back through again for free so they could get them off.
