This Zips has always done a great job with laundry/dry cleaning, providing fast turnaround at a good value. But their in-house tailor/seamstress did a fantastic job on some items I recently had altered, and wanted to leave a review to that effect. I specifically asked that certain items not be creased but they were creased anyway. When you ask fir something to be done a certain way, that's your expectation. You are paying for a service. Now I am coming back to write another review after new information has been brought to my attention. After taking my Navy Dress Blue uniform top to this ZIPS, they first off sewed my service stripes one inch lower than it was supposed to be. So I took it to another alteration shop. However, they were unable to fix the error that ZIPS made. This is because whoever at the ZIPS did the alterations put a large hole in the sleeve of my uniform and purposely placed the service stripe an inch lower to try and cover it up. This uniform has been with me since boot camp and was in amazing condition. I went to the ZIPS earlier and of course their manager, Marlin Campos, was not there. This local ZIPS, or corporate, needs to reach out to me to discuss reimbursing me for the cost of now having to replace my uniform. If you are in the military or a vet and want to take a uniform item to get it altered, DO NOT TAKE IT HERE, they have absolutely no idea what they're doing. And if they mess something up, they will try and cover it up. read more

I brought two comforters in before 9 AM and they told me it would take five days to get them done. I pointed out their same-day service that is on their messaging system when you call zips. not only did I have to point this out to one employee, another employee who was helping her questioned why it was the same day. A manager stepped in and said it would be done by 5 PM. It was not. I called at 5:15 PM and they said to come back in an hour because they needed to fold the comforters. I showed up, 90 minutes later, and the comforters were not folded. When I called the female employee was quite short with me and told me it would not be done until Thursday. Which shows they just went by what was on the ticket and not what was told to me. I wanted to give them my service, but I won't be returning. read more

Customer service is good. Employees are great. I have taken 3 uniforms there, all zippers have been broken. When I told the manager, she said it's the uniform. When I've had uniforms before, and zippers didn't break. I was good with Zips until then....I cannot unzip my top to put it on....I have to put it over my head. And she didn't offer to look into it...she said so many people have said this to her....I wish I would have known I was going to have a zipper issue before going there. read more

That's the worst cleaner eVer ever !!! Brought my lovely navy sweater to this location to take off a small stain ,right by the neck , from it . Being dealing with different zips locations for ages now . They all amazing and professional but this one. On the pick up day , the spot where the stain was became white and it was really noticeable. When I asked for an answer , I was told that It is A chemical reaction . I was like " I didn't ask for a chemical reaction " . That's when the manager showed up . " It is a 50/50 chance to take the stain off . I did my job but a chemical reaction happened "... Ok Miss what's the solution now ? I love my sweater and I want its color back ...she goes " well that wasn't me who put the stain on it ". I was just speechless , said have a good day and left the store and never coming back again . Be careful folks , there is plenty of professional zips location out there with very polite managers. Try yo avoid this one if you care about your garde-robe. If I could give this place a half star I would.! This location is awful. This was my first and last time coming to this location. I drop off 4 work shirts Wednesday and they said they would be ready Thursday after 5pm I'm like cool, so I came after 5pm Thursday and my work shirts where not pressed it look like they took them out the dryer and hung them up. So, I said I'm not taking delivery of these items until they are pressed! So, I came back today Saturday and the same problem. The manager said I can steam them for you. I spend good amount of money at this location. I was very dissatisfied with the lack of interest by the young man in post around 7:30pm on December 7th, 2021. I wanted to make payment with Apple Pay but unfortunately, my phone died. I asked the young man at least 5 times if he or someone there has a phone charger ? He repeated, no ,without trying to ask around. Luckily, another customer came in so the young man called his colleague Gabriella to ring him up. I took a shirt to be dry clean and alter. The shirt was for a suit and i was attending a wedding. They charge me up front for the alterations and clean. The gentlemen called me around five saying it will be additional cost for the alterations. I agreed as long as the shirt is ready next day. Next day came they could not find my shirt. They finally found it and notice it has not been dry clean. The next ten minutes they started arguing in spanish on who was responsible. Luckily i also spoke spanish to their surprise. The lady then try to tell me its not good to starch n dry clean my shirt At this point. I ask for my refund. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Won't be back...Just like I am expected to pay 100% for the service I think services should be done 100%. I understand mistakes happen but this just seemed careless. First visit: I drop off thirteen tops to be dry cleaned. Second visit: Three of my tops were wrinkled and yes it was explained as to why but why wasn't this discovered before I came to pick up?? One top had red stains that were not there when I dropped them off. Two tops could not be found and I was told that they had other orders needing to be finished that night. (I guess my missing items were not important). I left with six tops. Third visit: I pick up my remaining five tops and find one that is wrinkled. We've used the other ZIPS with no problem. We tried this Mt Vernon location once and they lost my husband's shirt. So far no action has been taken to find it or reimburse him. Don't use this location. It's worth the drive to go to the one near Huntington. We learned this lesson the hard way. read more

When you have to open a Yelp account to make sure people know of the terrible ability of those doing the cleaning I hope it makes you think more than twice before going there. Sure maybe nice people but they have no idea what proper dry cleaning is, like where creases go and how suit necks should be pressed. Basic stuff. UPDATE, after picking up my pants I think the experience was fast, the person helping was polite, and all I had to do was let them scan the card they gave me for them to id me and find my clothes. I think it was a smooth process. However, I was listening to another customer complain about how expensive the service was what ever she was getting on Friday afternoon. My suspensions were right about it being a high price for fairly simple items for a chain. all in all, I need a good tailor. Zips is good for other services. read more

I went back to pick my clothes up today on 08/29/20 and attempted to pay with my debit card. She refused to allow me to pay because she claims that they did my clothes on credit so I need to pay in cash. It is COVID-19 and it has been advised to use plastic more so than cash. She attempted to debate with me and would not allow to me pay with my card. I told her it was not my fault that their machine was down and they accepted my clothes anyway. I have never asked anyone to clean my clothes on credit. She said it is not my fault either and I don't see what the problem is. I told her that I don't either. I told ok ma'am let's just go. She stated I don't what y'all problem is. (Rational undertone implied) Must be the weather. I then stated to her that she was not going to talk to me in that manner. I stated I have been coming there since it open and a lot of military and veterans patronize this near. (Near Ft. Belvoir). She said she doesn't care about the military or veterans and whether not we come back to her store. I told her to give me my clothes so I could leave because I am not going to argue with no one to take my money. I can go elsewhere. She said take your clothes and go. I asked her who was the owner of this place. She said just call corporate. I don't care who you call. I asked her name and she gave me her business card. I told her corporate and everyone will know by Monday. She will never have to worry about another dollar from me. If she would treat me, a female veteran like this then she will mistreat anyone. Was in today (7/3) around 4pm. There was a young, female, Hispanic girl with dark hair waiting on customers and while she's speaking with the customer about missing items, her mask is not on. She has her mask dangling from her ear and she certainly wasn't 6 feet from the customer. The customer, meanwhile, had her mask on. Your employees should have their masks on at ALL times when they're in the shop working. Anything short of that is negligent. read more

I've been going to this ZIPS for the past couple of years and was very happy, until just a few weeks ago. I hadn't been in awhile due to the pandemic, but I took a winter coat in that had been cleaned pristinely in the past, but not this time around. I wasn't even sure it had even been cleaned. Soon afterwards, we took a down comforter to be dry-cleaned. It was supposed to be ready within 48 hours. I went a week later to pick it up and they couldn't find it--turns out it was in the DRYER--which I didn't register because I was in a rush. When I got home and took it out of the bag, I thought I had the wrong comforter--it looked completely different. I checked the brand tag and it was indeed our comforter. It had gone from being queen-sized and smooth to throw-sized and bunched up. We left messages at the store to complain. We checked ZIPS web site and they won't replace any items unless you have the original receipt--we've had this comforter for a long time and it was still in fabulous condition until now. I took a brand new machine washable dress to be cleaned. I asked them if they laundered vs dry clean and they said yes that they always read the labels for care. I took it along with another dress and tow other items. I picked it up and no one said that there had been a problem. A few days later when I went to wear the dress I took it out of the bag and there's as little tag saying "Sorry we're unable to remove the stain. Recommend wet cleaning." The cream panel was all a mottled gray where the colors had bled. I returned to the store and spoke with the manager, I don't know if she was the franchise owner and she said oh, I remember this when it came out. We don't like to do dresses like this because the chemicals make it do this. I told her I was told you'd follow the instructions on the label and it wasn't supposed to be dry cleaned. And why on earth would you send it home with a customer without saying something! She kept it and tried to get the stains out. Picked it up today and the cream colored panel is now gray but not mottled. She accepted absolutely NO responsibility and offered NO reimbursement. She said I should return it to where I purchased it and tell them there's a manufacturer defect. She actually showed me another dress where the dress had bled into the white stipe and said I'm trying to explain the same thing to another customer like it's bound to happen with these dresses! So if you value your clothes BEWARE they don't have any idea what they're doing. read more
