This place has absolutely delicious soft serve. They even advertise and a good chunk of their menu , is in fact soft serve. I have gone now twice, (they close at 10) waited 1/2 hour in line each time to be told their soft service machine is off for cleaning. Before 9pm over an hour before closing. Can they please put up a sign when soft serve is not available after a certain time? It's really disappointing when wait several times to be told that. read more

Best place to get ice cream!! The girls are so sweet and the menu is very unique, they have a bunch of sundaes and these blizzard things called tornadoes. Some of yall in the reviews are just too broke to understand it's priced higher because of the quality you are getting. I went to go get a yogurt and they closed the machine down at 7. The sign outside said open until 8! The girl gave an attitude when I asked about the sign. Unprofessional and unsatisfied. My husband and I loved Dick & June's, the former owners of what is now Zip's. Zip's hasn't been all bad either! My problem is paying $4.25 for a kiddie and finding that my scoop almost falls off with the first lick because there is ZERO ice cream in the cone to hold it there!!! Luckily I was able to catch it in time, but why was the cone completely empty? Definitely feeling a little shortchanged. This place used to be good. When we first moved to Beverly 2 years ago, we loved this place. Then last year, then raised the prices but we still went back. I fell in love with the Turtlicious Sundae. I just went back there for the first time this season and it seems as if they raised prices again. I got the Turtlicious Sundae and it was definitely not the same. I was so disappointed. I literally got a bowl full of fudge and a small scoopful of ice cream. There was so much fudge in proportion to the ice cream that I couldn't even finish it cause it was unbelievably sweet and it was torture to try to finish it. Save yourself the stomachache and drive a little further to Richardson's. If I wanted to eat this much fudge, I would have bought a bottle of Hershey's chocolate syrup and called it a day. read more

Just drive 45 minutes to get here in my search for the best soft serve in New England and for the entire drive in obsessed over whether to get my usual chocolate and vanilla twist with chocolate sprinkles/jimmies or to get a twist with their coffee soft serve (my favorite flavor actually in soft serve, this is what dreams are made of). I BT pull in and walk up to the counter, a young blonde girl opens the window and I say "I'm really torn, get I get a sample of your coffee soft serve?" She says "we don't do taste tests," I say, then how will I know if I'll like it? She says "we make them to order, it tastes like coffee" flabbergasted I said thanks and left. I'm now at Cherry Farm Creamery where they smile and are happy to serve me a taste. Only 7 miles away too. read more

Really yummy here! They have so many flavors of ice cream and frozen yogurt. I had soft serve cherry froyo and it was delicious! The service was friendly too. There is not much seating though. There are two benches to sit on, but that is it. I will definitely be back! read more

Had the black raspberry cookie crunch brownie which was good and my friend, the maine Black Bear. Decent and would stop in again but nothing we would rave about. I absolutely love this place. Walked up an hour before they opened and the owner didn't bat an eye. In fact, he cut the price of my order in half just because. He then refused my tip and smiled saying it was the "owner special". I got in my car and started eating, which was delicious by the way, and he came out 2-3 minutes later with napkins and a bottle of water! An owner that cares about his customers and treats them well? I've only tried the soft serve. Got my wisdom teeth out and my sister brought me some. Chocolate vanilla mix was really dense and creamy. Location can be buggy at night (used to work there as a teen when it was Dick & June's) so bring bug spray if you plan on sitting and eating there. read more

Have always had great service at zips. The employees have always been really nice and helpful, and they stayed past their set closing time for me when I got there late. The ice cream's great, from Richardson's I believe, it's nice not having to drive all the way out to Middleton for Richardson's ice cream. They raised the prices this year unfortunately, but it's still less than most of the other ice cream stands in Beverly, I think. They have a wide variety and are the best in the area for the price. read more
