I called 1st City Dental, and they were able to get me in right away. From the moment I arrived, the entire experience was exceptional. The front office staff was welcoming, efficient, and had me checked in quickly. The hygienist was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive in taking the x-rays. After performing a thorough examination, Dr. Davis was able to successfully reattach my veneer. She also identified an area that should be evaluated further by my dentist back home, which I greatly appreciated. Rather than simply addressing the immediate issue, she took the time to provide a comprehensive assessment and ensure I understood her recommendations. What impressed me most was Dr. Davis's demeanor, attention to detail, and genuine concern for my comfort and care. Dr. Trunk is super friendly but also great at what she does. She's also realistic - she encourages strong oral hygiene but doesn't talk to you like a lot of other dentists can (read: condescendingly). She just chats with you. The hygienists are also quick and professional and clearly enjoy what they do. I also had a more major procedure done (root canal and crown due to a mistake from a previous dentist) and that was as pleasant as could be. They are professional and do great work and I have had no issues with the crown since they put it in nearly two years ago.

Some research says it is great for adults, other research says it is all about the money. Dental Doctors has changed a lot in the past few years. Maybe it is time to make a switch. Are there not enough dental hygienists in St. Augustine, or does the practice not pay them enough or otherwise provide a miserable working experience? Who knows, and really we don't care. We are tired with tolerating drama anywhere for whatever reason, so we're going back to our "old" dentist in Orlando. We got two appts. about 10 days out from contacting them. I was transferred to St Augustine, and transferred care from my former dentist to St Augustine Family last year. Dr. Caggiano read my entire folder (I'm no stranger to dental work or dental procedures), even making mention of the note in my chart of my rapid metabolism and the only anesthetic that will work to numb me, and had plenty of it on hand for my first procedure. I knew that I had a prior cavity repair fail twice on my back lower left molar, but I didn't have the time to get it fixed properly. A prior dentist had attempted to repair this and couldn't manage the water from the drill, and it choked me multiple times.(Water in the lungs is not fun) First procedure: Failed cavity repair on a deep tooth way in the back that I had less than favorable experiences with. After discussing options w/ Dr. Caggiano- and my never wanting to get a root canal - we opted to crown the tooth. I'll try it one more time- on my second visit. Dr. Caggiano was very communicative during the procedure and 2 assistants worked diligently to keep the water out of my throat during the drilling with 2 large bore suction hoses running together. Their crown impressions were on point, and the temp crown held for the 2 weeks that we had to wait for the new one to be made. Over a year later, no issues with the crown and just had my semi-annual cleaning. No cavities, no gaps in the crown.

How can a dentist appointment be FUN? From the fabulous teeth cleaning, exam, and actual work performed, - it's brilliant.
