I knew the doctor and his family personally as they used to visit and sit at a restaurant I worked at years ago. We regularly recommended the practice to friends and family because of the excellent care and personal touch. As the practice has grown, that family feeling has disappeared. What once felt patient-focused now feels much more impersonal. There have been several concerns over the past few years. While a payment issue we experienced was ultimately resolved, it was still disappointing. More recently, my husband has repeatedly had negative experiences with his hygienist. We typically schedule our appointments together and are on the same cleaning and X-ray schedule, yet his appointments consistently take significantly longer. He has often felt that much of his appointment time is spent being lectured rather than receiving treatment. At his most recent visit, the office was already running behind due to an employee meeting. My husband had an important work commitment afterward and informed the hygienist at the start of the appointment that he needed to leave by a specific time. Despite reminding her of his time constraints during the visit, the appointment continued to run long. Ultimately, he had to leave before the doctor was able to come in. Rather than reaching out to hear his perspective after nearly a decade as a patient, the practice chose to dismiss him from the office altogether. That decision was surprising and disappointing. What makes this especially sad is that we spent years enthusiastically referring people to this practice because of the positive experiences we once had. Growth is a wonderful thing, but somewhere along the way, the personal care and loyalty to long-term patients that made this office special seem to have been lost.

I'll start with the headline: Khoi Dental Group has restored my ability to go to get care for my…read moreteeth without fear. I've been back twice since my dental surgery and am really, really happy I found this dental office. I went for a cleaning (my first in probably 15 years) a couple weeks ago, and my hygienist, Nadia, was wonderful. She was super empathetic about my gag reflex and worked with me on ways to minimize it while doing X-rays. She was also super communicative with me about the other steps of the exam so that I wasn't caught off guard by anything. Dr. Le is fantastic. He was kind and conversational, and he conveyed information without being condescending. I really appreciated that he suggested a more conservative approach to the issues I had as opposed to jumping straight to a root canal. I came back a couple weeks later for a couple fillings, and my experience with light sedation was amazing. I took oral medication before arriving and was set up with nitrous once I arrived. Dr. Le and the hygienist (Patrice, I believe) were again fantastic. While I don't think I completely fell asleep, I was definitely zoned out for a big chunk of it and felt super calm. For someone with PTSD and a fear of needles, that's an unbelievable feat. Speaking of needles, when possible, they use a special machine that makes the lidocaine injection so much more comfortable that I was barely even aware of it being used. One final note: the front office staff is great, too. They are highly communicative and easy to get in touch with. And I've never had to wait in the waiting area for more than a few minutes. (I'm sure exceptions to that happen, but I'd feel confident it's in emergency situations and not an everyday habit the way it can be at other offices.)

Carlson dental group is amazing. They are careful, thorough, gentle, mindful, and quick all at the same time. Never more than a 5 minute wait any time I've been there. I've NEVER had them "recommend" work that didn't need to be done or try to tack on extra services that are not needed. They always ask if I have any concerns and completely answer those concerns before proceeding to complete the routine services that I am there for. I've been lucky enough to remain with the same hygienists (Amy & Tyra) the entire time I've been a patient there. They have become great friends and THAT is the kind of healthcare we should all be so lucky to have!! The docs are fantastic, as well. I've not needed one for anything other than a routine exam........... but they have still been professional and "human" as opposed to stiff and "clinical!' HIGHLY RECOMMEND CARLSON DENTAL GROUP!!!

They tried to cover up their errors, and I had to go to different specialists to find out what had actually happened. In addition, it turns out that a dentist who had never even examined me accessed my treatment plan and added three unnecessary fillings to it. This same "dentist" was the one who damaged my mouth and caused months of problems. This was Lucia Greer and, interestingly enough, she no longer works there. Kevin Snyder behaved arrogantly and was very defensive when my husband and I went to speak with him about what had happened. This was after he blew off attempts to contact him for well over a month. He and Greer were huddled together in his office when we arrived to speak with him. My original dentist here was James Lee. I was under the impression that he had ordered all of these fillings, but it turned out that he had only put down a filling for a cavity. I remembered Flavia doing a cleaning when she said that she noticed some recessive areas in my gums. She called Lucia Greer over, who looked in my mouth for about two minutes. She then typed something into the computer and left. At the time, I had no idea that it was, in fact, HER who said I needed additional fillings. When I asked Snyder why a dentist who had never examined me was allowed to do procedures on me, he replied that when she peeked in my mouth during my cleaning, that counted as my actual evaluation. Yes, he really said that.
