Beef Koobideh & Chicken combo, Beef koobideh wrap, Eggplant appetizer.

My new favorite place for Persian food. Great food, fast service, good prices, convenient location. My beef & chicken platter with rice & veggies was delicious and had huge portions. My girlfriend got basically the same thing but in wrap/gyro form, with an eggplant dip appetizer. It's a nice place to eat, since most of their business is take-out it's quiet and has booths with comfy seats and calm music. Close to the 51 or PV mall area. We'll be back soon!

Every time I've gone here, the staff treats everyone extremely friendly, family style. Even though it's a little cramped inside, it feels like it's just enough room for it to work with how crowded this place gets. As for the food, the portions are extremely generous. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area

Filet Entree with 1/2 Saffron Basmati Rice and 1/2 Greek Salad

ZK Grill leaves an impression ... and it's a good one! Situated in a small strip mall, this restaurant is nondescript and doesn't draw much attention. It's neat and clean, which is more important than flashy decor. The service was fast and friendly, even though they were busy with numerous take out orders. The filet entree included tasty beef, fluffy Saffron rice and fresh Greek salad. The portion size was ample and enough for leftovers. From a price perspective, restaurant costs are high these days, so I was pleased to learn they offer a good value, even when compared to big chains with greater financial resources. Bottom line: Skip nearby chain restaurants. Get real, not processed, food here.

I was craving Afghan food, so I searched on Yelp and found this place with decent ratings and reviews. It's also close to home, so I decided to give it a try. Although some reviews mentioned that the food might not be 100% authentic Afghan, I still went ahead and tried it. I ordered the grilled chicken plate. The grilled chicken was moist, fresh, and flavorful -- though I think it could use just a little more spice. The plate came with a generous portion of basmati rice -- honestly, way more than what most places usually serve, which might be a bit too much. The salad was fresh, and overall the price was reasonable with large portions. The restaurant itself was very clean inside. The young woman at the counter was friendly and easy to communicate with. There was no table service; you have to get your own water and whatever else you need by yourself. When I was there, I was the only dine-in customer, but I noticed around 10 takeout orders being picked up. The restaurant is called ZK Grill, but I think it would be more appealing if they added what kind of food they serve (like Afghan/Mediterranean) to the name. That would help attract more people. In a state like Arizona, promoting international cuisine is important for visibility. Overall, I had a good experience. There's also convenient parking since it's located next to Safeway -- so you can grab groceries after eating. I'll definitely come back again with my family next time.

I don't enjoy writing bad reviews but I'm very frustrated. We placed an online order (because their website OFFERS it). Our pickup was for 3:25. My husband has been sitting in there for 25 minutes. A lady asked him what he needed and he discussed our online order for pick up. She said "sorry we don't get notified for online orders".....so now we're waiting an extra 30 minutes. If you don't get notifications for online orders then please say that on your website!!!! We would have called in then. Only reason I'm not giving it lower is because she gave my husband complimentary ice cream which we appreciated.

So fresh so good and very healthy but tasty definitely recommend and I would come here everyday salad is so fresh I got the chicken entree

Impromptu choice as we had been to another restaurant that was no longer accepting a Groupon that we purchased. Ordered the roasted red pepper hummus and pita bread and the filet kabob entree (well done). Hummus is homemade but a tad too watery for my tastes (still good, though). The filet kabob was a bit too well done as it was tough and chewy, but flavorful. Rice and salad was very good. Service was good but generally do not care for the self order at the counter types of restaurants when dining in.

Ground beef and chicken combo.. The rice is delicious!

It's fast and delicious. I've been coming to ZK for quality Persian eats for a while. (I miss the central Phoenix location). Since I found myself up north I stopped by and as always, the food was tasty consistent and exactly what the doctor ordered. How they get the rice to taste this good I still don't know. I will always return for the middle eastern cravings.

Then was given two out of a bunch of stacked containers behind the register. If I hadn't inquired wouldn't have known. In past visits they always walked around with a tray and offered. This was dry as well..... I do appreciate free but not dry. I was willing to pay. I probably caught them on an off night, business was good which is always a good sign. I'll give them another shot but won't order the Chicken Chips.

Everything was very good, and the sauce on the pizza was especially excellent. Service was good -- not great, but good. The DJ actually added some nice ambience to the place and gave the restaurant a good vibe. Now here's my problem. This is a BIG restaurant. I'm not talking about some tiny little neighborhood place where they have to squeeze every table into every corner. Yet somehow, they sat the four of us right next to the server computer station, where the staff is constantly coming and going, punching in checks, picking things up, walking back and forth -- the whole time you're trying to eat dinner. And to make it worse, that table is close to the front door. This is Arizona. Every time that door opens, you get a blast of heat. I can only imagine in colder weather you'd get the opposite problem. I've been around restaurants a long time, and some tables just shouldn't be tables. That's one of them. I understand nobody wants to give up a four-top, but in a restaurant that size, come on. Move the table or get rid of it. The guest experience should be worth more than squeezing in four extra seats. The food absolutely deserves a return visit. Just do yourself a favor if they try to seat you by that computer station near the front door, ask for another table.

Every detail you notice is extravagant and purposeful. Visiting on a Saturday for lunch, there were plenty of other families eating together too. I noticed the crowd was mostly older, which lets you know this restaurant is a true staple in the community (I find that usually the old people know what's up). As all 4 of us weren't super hungry, we split the Persian Room Special- Combination of barg (Filet mignon), chicken filet and Koobideh kebab, served with basmati rice and grilled tomato. It was a huge portion of food, served on a large silver platter. The menu states that it serves 2, but it perfectly filled us 4 adults! Granted, we weren't super hungry to begin with, but 2 is definitely an underestimate. I'd say it can easily satisfy 3 hungry adults. Anyway, quantity aside, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Everything was so flavorful and paired well together. The meat was also juicy. My favorite was the koobideh kebab for sure. There isn't much more I can say, as the food speaks for itself. The Persian Room is definitely something you need to try for yourself. Weeks later, I'm still craving it and will definitely be back!

I'd been here several times years ago, and after coming back, I'm honestly wondering why I don't eat here more often. I ordered the chicken shawarma, a stuffed grape leaves platter, and hot tea. Everything was exactly what I hoped it would be. The chicken was well-seasoned, tender, and wrapped with the classic toppings, and the portion was fair for the price. Speaking of price, the value here is honestly hard to beat. The stuffed grape leaves platter came with hummus, tabbouleh, pita, and hot stuffed grape leaves. I had completely forgotten they serve them warm, and my brain needed a minute to recalibrate because I'm so used to cold dolmas everywhere else. Once I took a bite, though... yep. That's how they're supposed to taste. Soft, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I ended up adding some of the hummus and tabbouleh to my shawarma, which made an already great sandwich even better. The service was just as impressive as the food. My server was genuinely kind, gave me a few extra minutes when I couldn't decide, checked in without hovering, and even offered to package my hot tea to go when he noticed I was still working on it. (For the record, ordering an entire pot of tea for one person was an ambitious life choice on my part.) The dining room isn't huge, and there's also a small market attached, which adds to the charm. This place reminds me that consistency is underrated. Years later, I came back, and it was just as good as I remembered. Great food, great service, great value.
