That's just crazy; I'm the first and only customer in there. No thanks, I'll go get my 15 minute oil change at Jiffy Lube 3 minutes away on Glendale Blvd. Btw; looks like new management. This would not have happened with the previous manager. The new old man is one grumpy guy who isn't sure when his employees are showing up to work.

A couple of other people arrived after me and waited by the door. When they opened, I was still the first person they approached and confirmed my appointment. My car came with upsized aftermarket rims and I asked them to install the new tires on my stock oem wheels which I had brought, still wrapped from being stored. They swapped the wheels and installed the oem back on the car with the new tires, wrapped my aftermarket rims and put them in the trunk and backseat for me to store until I either sell or install in our suv. They removed the tire, checked it for leaks, and found none. Since there was no leak or repair needed, they put the tire back on. After my boyfriend left, I got into my car and started reversing, then the employee who had been helping me asked to me pay the $35. I asked why I was being charged since no repair or patch had actually been done, and I was told it was because they had inspected the tire. When I asked for clarification, the employee who said it was his first week told me he wasn't sure why I was being charged, just that someone told him to charge me. What made the situation more uncomfortable was that they waited until my boyfriend had left to ask me for payment, despite knowing I was in a rush. I understand that businesses may charge for inspections or labor, but I feel that should have been clearly communicated upfront especially when the original quote was specifically for patching the tire. But given the experience I had at American tire depot in La Crescenta, I will never go anywhere else to have my car worked on again no matter what. my husband reminded me that you can go to some tire stores and they will fix holes for free, this is definitely true at American tire depot. So one afternoon I took my vehicle to see if I could get this tire fixed. Jason helped me out; and while I had to go home and come back because I have a BMW and we have weird tools you need to get tires off of the car, they did fix my tire for free and all was good in the world. But in fixing my tire, they also noticed that my rear brakes were all screwed up. Jared, the tech who helped me out this time, was able to look up parts and labor rates and gave me a quote within five minutes. I went in today to get the brakes fixed... and on two different occasions the technician came to the waiting room to sit down and explain to me what actually was wrong with my brakes. They had photos, they showed me the parts themselves, why things had been installed incorrectly previously, and all that jazz. and they were just as kind as they could be, not talking down to me because I'm a female who doesn't understand cars, but explaining everything to me because I'm a customer, and they want my business back. which they are going to get! I came in the afternoon and was pressed for time so it was my mistake not to review the quote. They add on items that should already be part of the repair. Other things to keep in mind with this Glendale branch: (1) If you buy tires from Firestone they charge extra for balancing unlike Discount Tire Centers or America's Tire where it is included, so you save money buying tires elsewhere, (2) They do not deduct diagnostic fees when you authorize the repair unlike all other Service Centers even Dealerships, they also don't tell you that beforehand, (3) Firestone will overcharge you for parts. Granted dealerships will do the same but it's just a sleazy practice that no one should be doing. (4) They will not thoroughly explain what's included on the costs. Like I said I should have reviewed the quote in detail. They added hazard protection for the tires without letting me know, which added $125 to my bill. My verdict is go elsewhere. These people will pad your invoice and are dishonest and deceptive. BE FOREWARNED!

Yelp sent me to Rosemary and her staff right off Honolulu in downtown Montrose. Rosemary (the grandmother in this story) got right on the phone and shopped around for the best tire at the best price. It's no secret that run-flats can be significantly more expensive than regular tires, but I like that extra layer of protection as my car has no spare. We settled on four Hankook tires that are both round and black. No unnecessary upselling at Montrose Tire. Rosemary knows her tires and treated me fairly. The tires were ordered and arrived the next day in plenty of time for my install. It is true that the run-flat ride can be a bit rougher than air only tires, but the knowledge that I can keep going with a nail or two in my side is totally worth it. I'm a fan of Montrose Tire!
