Pretty standard menu, but it all looks good. And it all was good. I got a birria eggroll, some esquites, and a pastor torta. The torta was absolutely excellent. Great bread, great meat, fresh veggies. A combination of flavors and textures that was just right. I wasn't even super hungry and polished off the whole thing, and it was pretty big. The equitos were very good. You can also get elotes. The birria eggroll was also very good. A very good eggroll, and very good birria, and a cup of consommé on the side. To me the two don't really go together well, but it's a fad now. There has to be birria in everything. The wrapper was great and fried up perfectly, the meat was tender and tasty. It does work, don't get me wrong, but it's really pushing the eggroll boundaries for me. I also got a horchata. Cold and sweet and huge. Service was friendly and quick. Prices are good. I will definitely be back. Notes: oddly, even though it has Machete in the name, those are not on the menu. I didn't ask, but I'm sure they can make them. And the credit card machine and their social media point to a restaurant with a different name, Los Catrines Antojitos Mexicanos. So I don't know if this is connected to the Machete in Obetz, or is it its own thing and they've just changed the name of the restaurant, or what.

They had empanadas and a couple of other things that I've seen in other cuisines. And fries. But mainly they had sandwiches, sandwiches I've never seen before. I went with a Barro Luco, which is basically flank steak and cheese on a bun. Not overly seasoned. Lots of good steak, good mild cheese, and a very good bun. I wasn't adventurous because I was not familiar with Chilean food, and though this was good next time I will certainly get some of the other sandwiches. Like the ass. Yes, the ass sandwich: looks pretty much like a cheesesteak. Another customer said that it is seasoned a lot more than a standard cheesesteak. Service was fast and friendly. Prices are great. My sandwich came with standard, but good and crispy fries. I'll be back.

Ordered a BBQ Mess- A grilled burger with onions/mushrooms and Cheddar cheese on a Brioche Bun. The burger was nice and juicy. The onions/mushrooms appeared to cooked in some sort of maybe bbq sauce. It was good, not great…read more The burnt ends were a small portion, and were extremely fatty. The kind where you can get a full mouth of squishy fat in some bites. The local lager on got on tap was a little flat and a little oxidized. I bet this is a bangin' summer place based on the location and ambiance but, it was quite dead when I was here. The bartender also seemed very distracted by a horrible thing she was going through outside of work, but I could tell she was still trying to give me the best service possible.

There used to be a different gyro truck here. It disappointed me, because the sign on the end said…read morebarbecue, but then you pulled up and it was actually gyros and fries. I never actually ate there. This one showed up a couple of weeks ago, and it's a trailer, not a truck, but it also has gyros. And I assume fries since they have combos, although I did not actually see any. You can get beef or chicken on a gyro, or on rice or a salad. They have canned soft drinks. Very basic, but also very good and very quick. I got a combination gyro, and asked for it spicy. It was tender, flavorful beef chunks, plus tender chicken which had quite a bit of spice on it. Loads of veggies, and a good amount of sauce. All in a big, very soft pita. The whole thing held together well, although it did start dripping by the time I was done. Decent size, good price, good quality food. The owner was super friendly. There is a small surcharge for cards, and almost nobody has cash anymore. I'll be back. It is on my way often, and it was a good, cheap, fast lunch.
