If you're looking for an affordable drain cleaner, I would look elsewhere. I want to start by saying the service was great. From Lindsay getting me scheduled same-day, to Shawn showing up on time and snaking my drains - all work performed was great. But I had to pay $600 for it. Not a good value. I own rental properties and getting drains snaked is a common thing, for both my primary home and rentals. I've never paid more than $100. I wish I kept better track of dependable drain cleaners I've used in the past, because this is the type of company I wish I had avoided for simple drain snaking. My tenant called me to say water was backing up in the basement bathroom sink when they run the washing machine. I got on yelp to search companies that specialize in drain cleaning, since I was pretty sure this was all I needed. I read through the reviews to make sure a) it's not the type of company that does drains just to get in the door and recommend major repairs, and b) it's not a place that sends out master plumbers to snake drains because that's prob not a profitable part of their business. I just need a drain snaked and it's really hard to trust many of the companies out there. Based on the reviews, it seemed Zoom Drains would be a good fit so I had them come out. Shawn showed up on time and called to tell me prior to doing work that he thought 2 different lines needed to be snaked (the tenant told him water was also draining slowly from the basement shower). I told him that sounded fine. He then informed me it would be over $500 to snake the 2 lines. He even said this was after a 10% discount. I was floored. I could've said no thanks and called another company to come do it cheaper, but it's a few days before Thanksgiving and I just needed it taken care of. Keep in mind this wasn't after-hours or holiday hours. This is their standard rate. And the bad part is the sink drain still backs up when they run the washer. They said to fix that they'd need to snake the vent, needing another person to come out, and charging an even higher price. I just couldn't do it. Shawn did give me advice on how I could come do this work myself to save money. His explanation was that they don't charge hourly, but simply by the job code. This really sucks for me because I overpaid for work that didn't solve my primary problem. Although the sink does drain more quickly than it did before. I don't want to talk bad about them as a company - it's my fault for hiring them and agreeing to have the work done at that price. But I cannot recommend them as a reasonably priced drain cleaning company. I do wish they'd mentioned their prices up front before I scheduled them to come out. He was very knowledgeable, kind, understanding, and tried to do everything he could to keep costs low. He ended up spending a few hours on the toilet situation and did not give up. Called them for a clogged to drain which turned out to be a collapsed drain went into the yard. I liked the plumbers so much when they came to assess, Saul and Jaden, that I didn't even get a second bid so I can't speak to the fairness of the price. But along with Alen who arrived first, this young business with young plumbers provided excellent customer care, were polite and helpful, very complete in their work going the extra mile by actually moving a small tree to get out the drain and then replacing it at the end. First off I want to thank everyone at Zoom drain from Lindsey in the office, to Norman King the plumber. I called for about a disposal unit malfunction and a leaking faucet out back.. before we finished discussing appointments. Norman walked me through the process of detecting if the disposal needed replacing or adjusting. Saving me a couple hundred dollars, just by being a great human.. we figured out what was going on over the phone. So thank you sooo much for that. I called Eric at 6:00 a.m. he called me back by 6:30 a.m. spent a good 20 minutes on the phone with me explaining to me their process and a range of cost for repair of things that it could be just based off of my explanation of the situation and also letting me know that their estimate to come out and look was free of charge he told me they could be out in about 2 hours and put me on a priority list he was correct it was less than 2 hours that our technician Isaiah showed up he was professional and pleasant to work with I will definitely be using zoom drain again in the future and recommending them to others he snaked two lines for me and made sure to clean up his mess and made sure everything works properly I am so happy they were able to fix this problem in a timely fashion because we need our showers and toilets with kids read more

Finally honest plumbers! I kept being blamed for causing a backup by my landlord and his plumber until I hired this company who confirmed it was a combination of things so anything small would quickly escalate which is what happend.
