He gave me a written estimate, and after doing some research, I found the price to be fair. Most importantly, I never felt like he was trying to take advantage of the situation. He also suggested adding an alarm that would alert us if the float valve failed again, which showed he was thinking about preventing future problems--not just fixing the current one.
