Service is pretty good, but their billing protocol is lacking. If you have insurance you can expect to pay well over your normal copay, then wait a month to be reimbursed the difference. It would have been cheaper to go to the ER. It was odd that they didn't contact my insurance provider, but rather relied on some generic information in the system. After being charged it didn't seem right, so I called my insurance provider, got right through, and was advised I had been overcharged - 6x the amount owed. Insurance provider said it will likely be a month to get my money back because they have to process the claim first. I would suggest having the receptionist make a simple call to the insurance provider prior to making up a copay amount. Edit for David: If the billing dept. was closed, how did you calculate the 62% copay I was charged? Why wasn't I charged the full amount? Btw, you're right, an ER visit would be more (3.5x more in the past for the same service), but I have a 10% copay, so the cost to me would have been less (prior to reimbursement). All I was saying is that people can expect to pay more than their expected copay on weekends, and that you should work on this issue. I wish your response had a different tone. Updating my review based on prompt and courteous call back and action from Zoomcare's billing department. This company responds quickly to negative reviews, and works hard to make customers happy. Because of the way appointments are staggered I was seen right away and did not have to wait. The woman running the front desk was friendly and helpful as well. This was my first visit to Zoom+Care and I have to say it was the most efficient doctor's office visit I have ever experienced. I was in an examination room at precisely the time of my appointment. The Doctor was friendly, compassionate and knowledgable. My lab results were ready within minutes and I left with my prescriptions in hand. I've been going to zoom are for a few years now and the people are always friendly and professional but I had to give a terrible review because I went in today for an appointment and all that was done was my blood was taken and I was recommended to see a specialist. Yet I was still charged $300 for essentially nothing. And on top of that an appointment with the specialist will be an additional $200. I came into the Alberta clinic with red rings around my eyes looking like a human vampire. I was stressed out because I was in pain and I was flying out to visit family in a couple of hours. I thought it was nothing more then a bad case of pink eye that hopefully could be remedied. After examining me, the practitioner, Loretta recommended that I see an eye specialist because based on all the symptoms it actually looked like it wasn't pink eye but something else. I was really distressed because I didn't want to miss my flight and I was also scared about my eyes. I'm so so so grateful to Loretta - she understood my fear and panic. She put calls right then and there to two different eye clinics on my behalf!!! I've never experienced someone so kind, thoughtful, and so willing to go above and beyond for my health. I felt so cared for and she was such an amazing advocate for my health. Because of her persistence and care, I was able to see a specialist and get the treatment I needed and make my flight!!! I'm so thankful Zoomcare exists and has people so caring and amazing. The front desk was also so kind and helpful. I really appreciate them. I knocked off one star because of privacy issues. The waiting room is a storefront. I'm kind of old fashioned and though modern, it seemed to lack privacy I would like. But the good parts way outweigh any criticism I might have. The prices are clear cut and I knew what the charges were going to be before I even set foot in the clinic. I saw a doctor! A real doctor. I haven't seen a real doctor in decades, but there she was, kind and knowledgeable. The receptionist was also nice, but she asked if I was eligible for Medicare. How dare she? Do I look like I'm old enough for Medicare? If I wasn't so sick I would have scratched her eyes out. I should have scheduled an appointment, but they saw me anyhow. I was in and out very quickly but never felt rushed. The doctor left only after all my questions were answered. They even have a web page for other questions and it had an informative video I was asked to watch when I got home. I was prescribed some medication. I was thinking, another trip to a pharmacy and having to sit around waiting. But nooo... They had the pills there, and before I signed my credit card receipt I also had my meds. If you're feeling ill, don't run up a giant ER bill, and don't get sicker because you can't afford care. Take your credit card to Zoom and give yourself a chance. I'm feeling much better, thank you. And I know I'm not going to have a giant bill at the end of the month. read more

I've been going to zoomcare for the past few years now and have NEVER had a bad experience! It's always the best costumer service, friendly staff and great, affordable prices -even if you don't have insurance!!! PLUS, you don't have to wait in the exam room for an extended period of time like you would at a regular doctors office. When you schedule your appointment that is the exact time they will see you and they won't waste your time. They focus on you and your needs and get you through the process of 'going to the doctors office' in a quick and orderly fashion! If I could give them a minus twenty five rating I would. They have been nothing but horrendous to deal with. Most recently, they refused to provide a copy of my prescription that I want to move to another pharmacy, because Walgreen's will not transfer it nor give us a copy of the prescription they have on file. We called Zoomcare and the Customer Service "manager", Jacob, outright LIED to us saying we have a copy of the prescription which is not true. They had never given us a paper copy of the prescription and had called it into Walgreen's. So now my health is being held hostage because neither my doctor nor my pharmacy will give me a copy of my prescription. Not only that, when I asked to speak to Jacob's manager he had the nerve to say "there's no one higher up than me". Really, like he's running the company. He would not stop interrupting and would not stop talking every time we tried to say something, and continually lied over and over. Their policies explicitly say we can get copies of our medical records, yet they refuse to give us a copy of our own prescription or write a new one to make it easy for us. Sick jerks in every sense of the word - they should not be allowed to be in business. read more

I've been to this particular Zoom+Care before and once again the service was exemplary! My appointment was at 6:15. I was seen by the doctor at exactly that time. She assessed my symptoms and we went over possible causes then she swabbed my throat and tested for strep, which came back positive. I had my meds and was home by 6:48...no joke. I remember as a child waiting FOREVER at the clinic and being so miserable but this is absolutely not the experience I had. Loretta Wood-Steenvoorden was so helpful and knowledgeable and I won't go anywhere else. I forgot to grab the name of the girl at the front desk which really stinks because she was just as efficient as the doctor. What a team they made!! I couldn't be happier with the service I received and you won't see me anywhere else but in that office for my medical needs...unless they make me in which case I would do whatever they tell me to do. I called Zoom to ask for an appointment and said I had had a serious head injury. They asked about my insurance immediately and said that I had to prove I had Medicare A for them to give me attention. This was repeated and answered several times and then I was asked for my credit card to guarantee if I did not show up I would be charged $99; at the end of the phone call the man on the other end said "and what are we treating you for" - and I repeated - a head injury (wondering if he only cared about payment and not what was wrong with me. So he gave me an appointment. I took a Lyft to the clinic and was told by the receptionist - if you have Medicare B we cannot treat you....needless to say, no one had asked me about Medicare B.. so I asked where to go. and was told it was a 19 minute walk to Legacy... I asked if they had a CT scanner to evaluate a brain bleed and she said no and to go to the ER that was only a 19 minute walk away. I asked for reimbursement of the Lyft fare which I had paid under their erroneous information... she said she could not. So they allowed a 74 y/o lady to walf 19 minutes to the emergency room. DO NOT GO THERE - they want your money and could not care less about what your medical needs are. They are lucky I made it to the ER and did not pass out on the way which would have resulted in a huge law suit! read more

This was such a horrible experience that it had me shaking mad when I walked out. I made the appt on line in the morning for Noon. I had about a 12 minute drive there so I left at 11:45. The parking was so bad in that neighborhood that it made me late by 5 min. I was told when I walked through the door by the most condescending little twit that I had to reschedule because I was late! He had 0 concern whatsoever about the care of a "sick" patient which was clearly the trickle down attitude of the whole business model of "get em' in and get em' out!" He said that those few precious moments would jeopardize me getting a proper diagnosis. If that's the case then why do they schedule everyone a 15 freaking minute appt?! Clearly they only care about money. I will NEVER go here again and I def DO NOT recommend that anyone who cares about how they are treated do either!!!! read more

Approximately 36 hours after posting my initial (highly negative) review I was contacted by a representative from Zoom Care who was VERY polite, concerned and apologetic. He had clearly familiarized himself with the particulars of my situation beforehand and asked me a number of additional questions about my experience. This man, Jeff Katz, was clearly interested both in improving Zoom Care's quality of care and seeing to my well being and satisfaction. I was given a refund of all expenses paid to Zoom Care (IE not prescriptions or labs) for both of my visits--about $200. While I remain nonplussed with the care I received during my visits they have clearly gone out of their way to correct the situation in rapid fashion. I am impressed by their contrition and retract my statement about Zoom Care being the McDonalds of healthcare. read more

My husband went to zoomcare for an ear infection. He complained it was feeling plugged and hurt. Our normal doc. suggested zoomcare b/c she was booked the only day he could get in. They made it easy enough to book an appointment on-line. B/c they take your money even if you don't show. We have insurance-good insurance, so we were appalled that the cost for an office visit was $120!!!! All the office visit consisted of was a person with some mediocre nurse's degree from Apollo college, who couldn't get a better job at a REAL physicians office, looked into my husbands ear and wrote a prescription. There was no lab-work nothing! So, here we are 2 weeks later, his ear still hurts-prescription didn't work. We called our insurance and they cover Zoomcare office visits so it should've been only a $20 co-pay. WHAT!? When we called Zoomcare with all this info., they said, "No, your insurance doesn't cover it. And if you are still having symptoms its up to the "physician" whether or not to charge you for another office visit. " SERIOUSLY!!!??? So now we have to wait to get our statement from our insurance and submit it to Zoomcare to get at least some of our money back for this complete waste of time!!! DO NOT GO HERE! GO TO A NORMAL URGENT CARE! These people don't know what they are doing. They are all obviously completely incompetent. read more

I just got my finger stitched by Lori Wood-Steenvoorden, FNP, at the Alberta location. She was amazing! Very thoughtful and professional. She listened to my nervous chatter and gave me clear directions for follow-up. Her assistant, I believe her name was Rachel, was also incredibly efficient and helpful. I strongly recommend this clinic and will use it as my goto for all immediate and urgent care needs. read more

I was out of town from Washington State and made an appt online. I went to the appt the front desk girl took my insurance and all my info. Not long after I saw Dr Evans. She was very efficient and had my confidence from the beginning. However, I went in primarily for a back injury right before i left out of town that got worse being in the over over a long period of time. I cannot take NSAIDs or aspirin due to a blood disorder. She prescribed some muscle relaxers but said she couldn't give me any pain medication because zoomcare doesn't allow it. That is the most bizarre thing I have EVER heard & had I known that I would have went to another urgent care or the ER. I also had a sinus infection so she wrote me a rx for antibiotic and brought out the muscle relaxers and a nasal spray from zoomcare pharmacy I am assuming but had to take the Other to a pharmacy. So I left the room and went to check out and the front desk tells me it's Saturday so we cannot verify your insurance (which is NOT correct I spoke with my insurance & there is a 800 number on the back to verify) so I had to pay almost $170 out of pocket and said they would verify Monday and refund my card Monday. I was not happy at all, so Tuesday I check my bank account and no refund, so I called your billing dept and they said no you will need wait until your insurance pays and than we refund you, not only that but the medications I received at your office I have to self submit. SERIOUSLY???? The whole thing was a waste of money because I ended up going to my regular dr when I got back home. The easy appt and fast service was amazing but your billing/insurance policy and not being able to write for pain medications is a complete joke! Is this your policy and if so both issues need to be addressed before seeing a dr so patients can make the judgement themselves as to proceed or not. read more

I created this Yelp profile specifically to praise the ZoomCare on Alberta. Not only was it the most efficient experience I've ever had in an urgent care facility, but the physician that attended to me was incredibly knowledgable, helpful, and genuinely seemed happy to be doing what she was doing. Add to that the fact that I arrived without any health insurance documentation and they went out of their way to find my provider and got my co-pay down to $20... I can't tell you how great of a visit it was. Portland is lucky to have this kinda of help available and especially at this caliber. read more

She did all the tests right there and gave me medications I needed onsite which saved me time from having to go to the pharmacy, wait then pay for them. I had been sick for a week with a cold. I went into Zoomcare to get checked up and make sure nothing worse was going on as my husband was going away on business for the weekend and I would be left with my 5 year old son alone. (all which I told the Doctor) The dr. diagnosed me with pneumonia and prescribed antibiotics and Tessalon Perles. I started on both. My husband left town. The Tessalon Perles gave me severe vertigo, nausea and I could not think clearly. I was incredibly faint and could not pick myself up off the couch. I had a series of panic attacks relating to how I was feeling and being left alone with my son. I had a neighbor bring me to the ER. There, they gave me lots of IV fluids and did all the proper tests on me such as x-rays and blood work. They determined I did not have pneumonia at all. I simply had a cold and my end diagnosis was "fatigue" and allergins of Tessalon Perles from the ER doctor. I was given medications and antibiotics for no reason and was misdiagnosed. Everything I went through was due to a misdiagnosis from Zoomcare. I will never come back to Zoomcare again. They jeopardized the safety of my son as well as my own body. read more

I came in with a big gash over my eye. Casey Rokus(?) Brought the MD immediately, helped with the bleeding,pain and even made me tea to warm me up. It was like being at a urgent care spa. I had a minor cut on my index finger and it required 3 stitches ,pretty basic!The PA on call instructed me that it just needed glue and stri strps.I agreed just because I didn't want to make a fuss.He gluded and stripped and sent me on my way. While sitting in my car telling my wife of my experience I noticed blood flowing down my arm.I went back to see the care giver and he proceeded to put more glue on it.But this time he asked me to wait for a few minutes and that was a good thing because my wound bubbled up again and then He put a splint on my finger and sent me on my way .while yes it kinda of worked my finger has taking more than a week to get to a pain free and blood free state.I am now way a health care provider but if he would of just put in 2 or 3 stitches it would have been easier for everyone.The whole experience from the font desk to the care and the price was sub par care and is the reason I will not return and not recommend Zoom care . read more

Sometimes in this short little episode we call "Life" our journey takes us outside of our element and places us where we need to be at that moment in time with purpose. While on vacation for the last 2 weeks I have been frequenting this quaint little coffee shop mid mornings for nothing more than just to people watch and Blog about it. Sounds dull and borderline snooze fest but have you ever been stuck in the ER for hours on end and regardless of how sick you are you can't help but people watch with uncontrollable eye rolls and neck cracks? Yeah, it's like they secretly bill you for the waiting room Jerry Springer pleasures. Well a couple of days into my blogging sessions i kept hearing this upbeat loud voice always full of humor and this uncanny ability to make even the sickest of rushed patients crack a smile. I literally heard him talking to patients for 3 days before I was able to put a face to the voice and that's when I met Casey. Holy friendly giant Batman! Kids gotta be like 6'5 and I gotta be honest with you, he has made it really hard for me to write a blog about anything else but him. It's not many times in life you come across someone like Casey that is just genuinely nice but go ahead and add hysterically funny, and non judgemental, impossible. Plus I now know everything there is to possibly know about every single vien that runs throughout the body and he almost has me convinced that I myself am not deathly afraid of needles. I also know that from here on out, even though I wasn't personally a patient, the blood drawers, whatever they are called have more competition than they could EVER imagine! Zoom care, you are one LUCKY employer to have such an outstanding employee such as Casey. If I thought for one second he would leave his home here in Washington, I would take him back to southern California with me. Meeting Casey and his contagious laughter was by no mistake. I got my blog and even more, I got influenced in the biggest of ways by a mid 20 year old than he will ever know. Your patients are lucky. At least they leave with a smile sick or not. read more
