Zov's was a great surprise with fantastic service. They have brunch and all day menus depending on when you arrive. Even though part of me wishes there are more vegetarian friendly items the ones that are, are more than satisfying and full of flavor. So probably a good thing not to be paralyzed by choice. The avocado toast was simple yet complex in the spread on top of a brilliantly pre-cut toast, looking deceptively like a single piece, topped with generous amount of avocado and perfectly cooked yolky egg. The fries are delicious and the burrito was satisfying with or without bacon. Side of fruit was fresh and clean. Unlike some of the other breakfast spots with uninspected moldy berries or visibly old produce. Same with the fruit on top of their Baklava French toast-- which was incredibly unique and deliciously familiar. I'm looking forward to returning over and over and trying, retrying items from their 'for the table' section. As well as the salads. The eggplant fries were worth trying as well but dirty fries is probably more of my sunny side up jam. Also they refilled our coffees so fast and frequent I'm in awe of how well the patrons are cared for. Thanks Zov's for a great dining experience each and every time! We recently moved walking distance to this restaurant and I will say the food is good. However we have now dined in twice and the service was not great, I had to ask both visits multiple times for water refills. Which is necessary because their restaurant must have no air conditioning because it's extremely hot. The main reason for my review is their women's restroom on both visits smells absolutely disgusting. It must be a sewer issue and completely makes you lose your appetite. Keep in mind this has been both visits. Another reason for my low stars is their manager(I presume) was walking around asking everyone how the food was but never came over to us. I was going to inquire about catering for an event, but guess I will go elsewhere with better service. read more

Just finished at Zov's and I'm pretty satisfied with my experience. This is the Newport Beach location and they did a great job accommodating our large party of 15. It's located in the same shopping center as Pavillion's. Parking is pretty good, we didn't have any issue finding parking. The place itself is very clean and has a dog friendly patio. They were able to seat or large party of 15 with ease. Service was great. We had two servers for our large party and they were great and super kind. They were very attentive to our table and they did great making conversation with us. They seemed like they knew a lot about the cultures food cause they did a great job at explaining all the food to us. The food was pretty yummy! On the platter, the red pepper feta was my favorite! The eggplant fries were really yummy! I couldn't even tell that they were eggplants. The kebab was yummy! I preferred the beef over the chicken. The sea bass was super good! I honestly think that's my favorite. This place was really good. It's a bit on the pricey end but I think it's worth what you pay for. While staying down the coast in Laguna Beach, I heard of this mini-chain and decided to visit the Newport Coast location. Parking is easy in a mini mall lot and the restaurant is tucked into the corner. The room is modern and sleek with a bar in front and both inside and outside tables. We slid into a booth along a wall and were impressed by every dish, the authenticity and consistency of the Mediterranean theme, speed of service and the hospitality. The lamb burger is juicy, flavorful and satisfying. It is also served with some very crunchy fries (twice fried?) that were addicting. The angel hair pasta dish was well-balanced and flavorful. And I highly recommend the truly Ridiculous Sundae to finish. I can see why this restaurant group has grown and am looking forward to a return visit. read more

This was my first time at Zov's and just wow! The ambiance was very nice and upscale as well as inviting. The staff was quick and very on top of everything especially when introducing the chefs specials for the night. Food was cooked to perfection and was a nice portion size. Went here for lunch on a Monday. Not very busy and seated right away. Our server James did a great job explaining the food and drink options. We ordered an Orange Avenue Wit draft and Santorini Spritz to drink. The spritz was sweet and refreshing. To eat we had the Spicy Lamb Burger with fries and Chop Chop salad with chicken. Both meals were tasty and well made. The restaurant is located in the corner of the lot. Parking is adequate, but busy. The restaurant itself is clean, orderly and welcoming. I've been taking groups of 8-12 here for at least 8 years and have always found the food quality good and fairly priced along with good service. When we showed up for our party of 12 on Friday 5/23 at 5:30 the hostess was actlually going to set us at 4 different tables that weren't joined. I of course objected and some staff came and rearrianged tables so we could all set together. Over these past years we have always requested seperate checks and were obliged. This time our server insitsted she could only have 3 checks for large gatherings. After confering with the Manager she accomodated our request for 5 seperate checks. Although the food did not dissapoint felt gouged when I recieved my check and noticed my angel hair pasta priced fairly at $22.00 but an outrageous greedy price of $10.95 to add 1 meatball. read more

We like Zov's and have dined here a few times. They have a nice, covered patio with heat lamps, and they are dog friendly. Their manager was very accommodating, taking a patio reservation for our party of eight on a busy Friday night, so that a dog could join our dinner. I had the KEBOB TWO WAYS $28.95. The dish included an angus beef tenderloin, marinated grilled chicken breast, jasmine rice pilaf, tomato cucumber salad, and yogurt mint sauce. I thought it was very tasty, the chicken was a little bit dry. My co-diners had a wide array of dishes, and everyone seemed pretty happy with their choices. The service was good throughout dinner. It was a wonderful dinner experience for the family. From the time we entered to the time we were leaving, we definitely felt welcomed by everyone. Food was awesome! The starter platter was more than enough for our party of six and everyone enjoyed the variety of food we ordered: salads, sliders, pasta and kebabs. There was live entertainment as well. He sang well but was a bit too loud for me (or maybe we were just too close.). Desiree was a fantastic server (along with those who helped her out.). She made sure our son, who has peanut and tree nut allergies, could enjoy his entire meal without worrying about cross contamination. The panda cotta was a great way to end our meal. We visited on a Thursday to celebrate a birthday. We sat in a booth. Good lighting fixtures that were dimmed at about 6:30. We liked the golden lentil soup appetizer, rather like split pea soup! The server asked if we wanted it as an appetizer or as a main dish. Great warm bread rolls with soft butter. Enjoyed the pistachio coated sea bass on a dark quinoa cake that rested on refreshingly acidic greens. Great short rib pappardelle, that could perhaps have been served with vegetables, such as a separate dish of vegetable purée. Birthday dessert was a Ridiculous Sundae! The service from our waitress to the bus boy was friendly. We were happy to find that the restaurant was quiet on a Thursday night, after a long day of work. Even though it was chilly, the fresh air through all the open doors was nice, as we sat in our little indoor booth. The restaurant has many articles on the walls about their namesake and matriarch, Zov Karamardian, which makes for an interesting read while waiting for your food. I ordered the Short Rib Pappardelle, which was rich and creamy. The meat was very tender and perfect with the spinach mushroom sauce. My husband had the Lamb Burger which looked rather plain in presentation but was full of flavor. The pasta was delicious and I definitely would order that again. Lots of meat and tasty sauce. The burger was not gamey like some lamb burgers are, but it lacked a little moisture and was kinda dry. So happy my man and I decided to try out something different as we're always in the area over the weekend. The host was lovely, the ambience has a more romantic vibe to it and it was rather busy the night we were here. Desire was our server and she went above and beyond for us! - as well as other tables from what we witnessed. Super sweet and took great care of us. We will definitely be returning and asking for her section. As for the food, we started out with the brussels sprouts: 10/10, very filling. I had the Short Rib Pasta, also filling yet super tasty.
