Ahi-Sriracha Sandwich- lettuce wrap- with side salad
    Calli Y.

How have we not noticed this place before now. We took an evening stroll and then stopped by this restaurant. They have 2 window seats which is nice to get some fresh air and people watch. We were told that the food was great so we decided to sit down. They have a wide variety of food items and I'm sure the drinks are good but we don't drink. I opted for the ahi sandwich and I could get it protein style which I appreciate with a side salad. It was really tasty. The ahi wasn't fishy. The thicker section did get a little chewy but that was the next day since I couldn't finish it all. I wish I had more sauce though since it was tasty. My friend got the burger with fries and thought it was good as well. It can get loud when the middle table has guests, something w/the acoustics. But a fun vibe. There was a waitlist when we left. SYOY!

Be There...or Be Square! This retro & cool gem, on The Island, is a great place to relax and watch The World go by! Jaimie was a friendly youthful server, who made me feel very welcome. The Happy Hour homemade meatballs, with delicious buttered bread were to die for! Can't wait to return!

Stopped here once for dinner a year or so ago because every other place was packed. I got the Ahi-Sriracha sandwich and I've been coming back for the same sandwich ever since! Service and beer are always top notch as well. I can't say I've tried any other food here, but I'll keep coming back for this sandwich alone LOL

What a burger!! Came in for a brew and the very nice waitress offered me to get the aptly named Snipe Burger and damn that thing was unexpectedly delicious!! Packed with deep umami flavor all on a soft little bun with lettuce tomato and red onion, I kept munching till there was nothing left! Had to rush but this spot is one to be remembered! Till next time I'm on the island! Thank you Snipe! Save a tee for me cuz I will be back!!!

Our server was great and loved the indoor outdoor feeling of this little spot. My rating is based on the food and I was also disappointed they were out of the NA beer options. That was one thing we were looking forward to on this beautiful day (to sit down after shopping to enjoy a na beer) we just wanted a snack so we ordered the meatball bruschetta and the calamari. The meatball bruschetta was good but I felt the meatballs were lacking in flavor but overall it was a good dish for the 4 of us to share. The calamari wasn't my fave only because it was huge slices and I typically like thin sliced squid for a little less chew and more crunch but overall the flavor was good and it was the perfect amount of food for the 4 of us to share.

We popped in after a walk on Balboa Island on a Saturday. It wasn't too crowded, we got seated right away. Our server was friendly, service a bit slow but we weren't in a rush and most people are here to relax and have a good time. We got a burger and a pizza, both were yummy! Seems they have a lot of local craft beer options, and cool seating options.

Took the Ferry over to the island and strolled along the waterfront to Marine Street. Dropped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated right away and served water. Ordered a couple of their tap beers, Sausage and Fennel pizza, and Eggplant pizza. Really enjoyed their pizza crust. Great casual place to sit and people watch.

Outstanding food! Great service. I ordered the ribeye sandwich with a salad. So good!!!! If you are on Balboa Island, make sure to visit Snipe Island Crafthouse.

The eggplant on toast was very flavorful and cool. Sundays are for burgers. Yes they have the best hands down burger in the area, The two different ground beef Blend was seasoned and cooked to perfection. They added some sort of creamy sauce and of course the fries were cooked nice and crispy. We wished we had more of an appetite or guest with us for this party of two, to try more food. Had a glass of white wine which was recommended by the manager/sommelier while we browsed the menu. As our friends have dined here several times, we started to nibble on the whipped ricotta, burratina, empanadas and the pan con tomate w/jamon. All 4 were delicious but the empanadas were amazing! Our table was ready once we finished the 4 appetizers. Next up we decided on the tiger prawns, branzino and seared scallops. Thought the prawns were a tad bit overcooked as it was a bit tough. The scallops were well seasoned and especially loved the saffron risotto. Finally, the branzino was cooked perfectly but wasn't a fan of the romesco sauce as it tasted sweet to me. Though we were absolutely stuffed, we ended up trying their creme brûlée, gelato/sorbet flight and their olive cake. I absolutely loved the creme brûlée as the custard was super light. The gelato/sorbet flight was also tasty but sadly wasn't a fan of the olive cake. The place was packed and patrons seemed to stay for a few hours at a time. Only complaint is with how loud it can get with both the music and patrons drinking countless bottles of wine. Service was phenomenal and would definitely head back if in the area. Although they do validate for the 1st hour, we ended up staying for quite some time and parking ended up costing another $18.

The plush leather cushions on the bench seating inside is beyond amazing. I really appreciate a place that doesn't shy from making you as comfortable as possible. I love the tarnished gold and worn leather. I had the pleasure of being served by Savannah and Maggie. The service is sincere and REALLY knowledgeable. Their love of their craft is infectious and makes you fall in love with going out to eat all over again. I loved hearing their food recommendations (albacore tuna ceviche) and learning about the gluten free beer options. When sitting at the bar, it feels like you are sitting in your own beach house. Nothing compares to a locally crafted beer and a view of Newport harbor. I am forever in love with this place.

We shared a bunch of things and there really wasn't a bad dish. The hummus with tomatoes and crispy bread was delicious, and we absolutely loved the meatballs in the slightly spicy curry sauce. We also had the pepper pasta, clams (one of my friends had never even tried clams and loved them!), cacio e pepe, and Mary's chicken. The chicken was Korean-style and came with kimchi green beans that somehow tasted a little like dill pickles -- in the best possible way. We loved them! The service, though, was just...odd. My bestie and I both ordered dirty martinis with blue cheese olives. Mine came with them, hers didn't, and neither martini was nearly dirty enough. Once we got some extra olive brine they were much better. But the funniest part was when we reminded our server that my friend was still missing her blue cheese olives. She came back with a skewer of them IN HER HAND and just handed it directly to my friend. No plate, no napkin, nothing. We all just looked at each other like, "Did that really just happen?" So overall, I'd absolutely come back because the food was THAT good. The kitchen gets an easy 5 stars from me. If the service had been at the same level, this would have been a five-star experience all around. For this visit, 4 stars -- but definitely worth going for the food!

Had heard a lot about The Quiet Woman so when I found myself in Fountain Valley earlier this week,…read moreI decided to check it out. Walked in, was greeted by a very nice Host. I mentioned I wanted to sit at the Bar, she smiled and said find a nice spot. Pulled up a stool, sat down between two women on the right and one guy on the left. Almost immediately, my Bartender Sierra stepped up to see what I would be drinking. Ordered a Manhattan and it was cheerfully served to me at Rocket Speed! Well done. The set-up for this classy, old-school cocktail was superb. Of course it was served neat in a Martini stem with a real cherry, not one of those neon, radio active ones and there was also a small carafe with more of the Manhattan contained within for me to repenish my glass. Details matter a great deal and Sierra and the Bar really nailed it with this cocktail! Before too long, I was chatting with the folks adjacent to me on both sides and as can happen, we soon became friends. This always adds to the vibe and fun so things started off really well. That vibe kept going as did the fun! Fortunately, it was a live music night and Sophia was performing. As a musician having been in rock bands back in the day, I always appreciate live music. I'm telling you, Sophia had it going on that night! She played a great collection of songs on her keyboard and is blessed with a remarkable voice-Strong, powerful, energetic, soulful, gutsy and capable of hitting ALL the high notes! I was really digging the vibe, drinks and music and I felt hunger pangs but wasn't really feeling like anything heavy so I asked Sierra to see if the kitchen could whip me up something close to a Cobb Salad. She took care of that for me and the kitchen did the rest with a great version of that Salad! Bravo. Was getting late and I had to drive back so I eschewed the old one for the road and said my goodbyes. I had a great time at The Quiet Woman and now have a new favorite bar. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the OC.
