Service is prompt and good. Seated right away. Has outdoor patio right in front of Bloomingdale's at fashion island. Parking is like any other outdoor mall and in an abundant. The food was ok. Nothing is go back for. Prices are reasonable.

Fantastic spot and great prices for some very tasty food! The food was very flavorful and well plated. Service was great attentive but not too much. Great outdoor dinning and nice atmosphere!

"Medium well"
C S.

Maybe the great food and service last times was a fluke. Today'a service was absolutely horrible - the worst I have had in years. The burger came out VERY pink when ordered medium well. All the food was bland. I could have ignored that but the service wow. He took the order, never came back until food was ready (which took a while). We had to get bread from someone else's server. The host brought us drinks. It wasn't even busy but our server just disappeared. Finally brought us food, and never saw him again for probably 30-45 minutes. I had to ask someone else for refils and the check. The host let me know he asked the server for the check twice now and so finally I went inside and jokingly said if I can't pay in 5 minutes I'm going to leave because I'm done begging to pay lol. I told them about our experience. They laughed with me and a girl printed our ticket and let me pay. She was very friendly and attentive to her tables near us. I asked for a manager and they said there wasn't one in today he called out. I would like a refund but nobody was there to authorize anything or even help out. That was also crazy to me. How do you correctly run a restaurant without any management?!

GREEK SALAD WITH CHICKEN
Madeleine L.

Had the turkey club first time I went. This time I had a Greek salad with chicken. Both times the food was good, but not outstanding. Felt my salad was mostly lettuce. Expected a little more for the price. Good place to people-watch. And I love sitting outside. Wait staff has always been very friendly.

Orange Glazed Salmon and Organic Quinoa Salad
Kristi A.

The orange glaze salmon salad is my new lunch obsession!! Great restaurant for an outdoor lunch with girlfriends. I just wish there was music for a better ambience. But I still love it here. Service could be a bit better but they do get busy around lunch time so I understand.

Outdoor seating - dog friendly in stroller

A cute cafe experience inside fashion islands bloomingdales store. Inside and outdoor seating. On weekends you can enjoy the live music right there. During holidays, you can enjoy the giant tree display. Super friendly people working there Tasty options like salads, sandwiches, and light options to munch on. Dog friendly. Wine pairs nicely, and they also have a mimosa flights.

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus with Caper Remoulade
Hailey K.

For my final lunch of Restaurant Week 2023, I decided to go to Fashion Island. It worked out since there were also some other things going on at the mall during that day, so this was a convenient spot. Sadly, the food did not quite live up to my expectations, especially considering this was in Bloomingdales. For $25 you got to pick one appetizer and one entree. One nice thing I will say is that the meal came with complimentary bread and this was the only place (besides chips at a Mexican restaurant) that gave me free bread, so that was a nice surprise. Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus with Caper Remoulade - This sounded good in concept, but the execution is a different story. To my knowledge, I have never had a remoulade sauce before, but from a search, it is usually a bit more orange in color. What I got instead was a very white sauce that tasted like ranch. And I don't mind ranch, but there was so much that it was overwhelming and I tried my best to avoid it. The asparagus and prosciutto were okay, but not too flavorful. Salmon Scampi - All of the entrees I got to choose from sounded really good, but I chose the salmon since I had not had salmon all week and it is my favorite fish. And overall, I did like this dish, but it definitely felt like a step down compared to everything else I had been eating this week. The mushrooms were a bit slimy for my liking, but I enjoyed the mashed potatoes and fish. While I might not be going back, the service at this place was excellent and they were very attentive. The food came out so quickly I did not have time to finish my appetizer before my entree came out!

Even during peak brunch hours, the atmosphere stays lively rather than chaotic, which already puts it ahead of many popular spots in the area. We went straight for the Rib Eye Melt and the Steak & Eggs, and both were standout choices. The Rib Eye Melt was the star: tender, flavorful steak layered with perfectly melted cheese on crisp, buttery bread that balanced richness with texture. Every bite felt indulgent but well executed. The Steak & Eggs delivered exactly what you want from a classic done right -- a well-seasoned steak with a beautiful sear, cooked perfectly and paired with eggs that tied the plate together into a satisfying, no-frills brunch win. Service stayed attentive and efficient despite the crowd, and dishes came out paced perfectly. Great Maple understands elevated comfort food and executes it consistently well. The strawberry donuts were a great finish, amazing texture unlike any donut, almost a cross between a donut and bagel but better than both. So why the 3? From the moment we sat down the service was off. The server didn't bother to ask our side of the table what we wanted to drink, nor did he give us a menu til I asked. And when I asked for a water he responded, "You want another water?" I wasn't even given a water to begin with.

It wasn't terrible, and we didn't leave thinking the food was awful, but for what the experience seems like it should have been it was not great. The signature cocktails are really nothing special and cost a lot. I personally had the Blood Orange Sour and might as well have just made my own whiskey sour at home and saved $17. We reserved a table outside and the atmosphere was nice and seats were comfortable. We're not sure if it was because we were sat in the far corner or they were understaffed, but the service was very slow, and even getting our card back after we paid took at least 10 minutes. Finally, the food was fine, aside from one of the salmon entrees coming out VERY rare. The restaurant ended up comping this dish for us. If you're looking for a nice night out with great food and drinks, there are plenty of more satisfying options for m Orange County that will be far better, and also cost you less than CDM.

Even on a midweek evening, the restaurant was buzzing, and the staff noted it gets significantly busier as the weekend approaches. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between upscale and casual comfort. While the entire staff is welcoming, the bartenders truly steal the show. They are incredibly attentive, managing to provide lightning-fast service to bar guests while flawlessly crafting drinks for the main dining room. The menu offers an excellent surf-and-turf mix, catering to both adventurous diners and those seeking elevated casual classics like burgers and sandwiches. I opted for the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, which were excellent. Seared beautifully on both sides to highlight the crispy breadcrumbs, they were packed with fresh, generous portions of crab. The serving size is incredibly filling; honestly, a single crab cake could easily make a meal. When I wasn't thrilled with my initial choice of coleslaw, the bar staff didn't skip a beat, swiftly swapping it out for a side of delicious whipped potatoes. I'm surprised Gulfstream wasn't on my radar sooner, but it is a superb spot with a great vibe and a friendly crowd. I learned it's part of a larger, highly regarded restaurant portfolio, and I will definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu. I suggest that you make a reservation or arrive before 5:00 PM to snag a prime seat at the bar! Enjoy.

It was a very messy chop on the steak, and two of the piece looked as if being held by a string. Also the steak lacked flavoring. 2- The clam chowder had a nice flavor, however we had to send it back three times because it was not even warm. Each time they brought it back out it had a light steam coming off the top, but as soon as we took a spoon on to eat it was barely warm. The fourth bowl came out where the bowl itself was warm and the soup was a bit more on the warm side. I like soup that is it perfectly warm to almost a bit hot you need to blow on it. I questioned if it was exactly safe to eat at the temperature it was being served. 3- The hot chicken sliders and fries. The chicken was warmish. My son felt it was safe enough to eat, but with hesitation. The fries were cold to touch. He ate it all because he was hungry and didn't want to wait for it to be redone. 4- The French onion soup. The flavor was very tasty, but again like the clam chowder was not very warm. The food needs help. I feel like all this food was precooked and just sitting under a warmer. It did not taste like it was freshly prepared and served immediately. It was not busy so not sure why all food was cold to barely warm. Total bill was around $100, and I left there upset at paying that amount for food that was not worth it. I don't like leaving a restaurant and regretting eating out. Such a horrible feeling.

Here's the problem: quality control just isn't there anymore. I ordered a salad and the avocado on top was clearly rotten. I took two bites, felt my stomach turn, and put the fork down. The rest went in the trash. As a mid-to-high-end spot in Newport Beach that charges premium prices for clean eating, this fails the kitchen standards. Someone prepped that salad, someone plated it, and someone sent it out. No one noticed? Or worse - no one cared? To be fair: service was fine, the space is nice. Hummus with pita tastes great.
