Nice to be able to have a place at the beach as a one stop shop when in the area. We had visited the Sherman gardens nearby and I yelped a place for lunch and by happenstance saw lobster rolls are a fan favorite here which my man absolutely loves, as he is from Maine. Parking was actually a breeze for us in the neighborhood nearby and we walked right down to the place where there were tables and the line wasn't long. Should've gone with the lobster roll but I opted for my usual clam chowder which came out smaller than I thought. When the order came out we also saw they didn't include the seasoned fries I ordered, which is fine because it wasn't on the receipt either. I told my man we don't need to order anymore because we had plenty. Just make sure when ordering you have them read it back not to miss anything. The clam chowder was good, could've had more clam but came out piping hot, which I know is an issue sometimes at places like this. My son got the tuna melt and couldn't finish his potato chips. Wish they had coke on the menu instead of Pepsi, that's my only qualm but other than that next time I'd definitely order the lobster roll. read more

I had a bad experience.It was due to the person taking my order.It was a simple transaction. No biggie, but just the attitude of this little girl was just so rude and I was surprised. All I wanted was tea with light ice. She had already served the drink, but I said, "oh, I'm sorry, can I have light ice", she replied, it does have light ice. I felt the cup and it seemed full of ice. I then ask if you could empty out some ice and put a little bit. She replied " no , i'm not gonna do that and waste the ice" very ruly with an attitude. I'm not sure if she hates her job or if she was just having a day.But that's not how you should behave when you work in customer service. So then she gives me a small cup with tea about half full and said , I could just pour it in there. I said " well , I don't wanna walk around with two cups" it be king very complicated for her.I'm not sure she understand I just didn't want a lot of ice. My husband had to even jump in and explian" she doesn't want alot of ice because she's just getting over a sore throat. So she just serve a cup without ice and said" here this one doesn't have any ice". I just paid and was already done because she's still didn't get the order right. But then I asked for sugar , she tossed two packets on the counter rudely, again. I asked if she sweden , she said , no , and I asked for a few more packets she gave me more. As I was at the counter still, she had walked away. I literally heard her talking about me to her co-workers.It was so rude so mean. I have just blown away. I believe her name was gabby. Burgers and seafood fare for $15-20, breakfast available before 11am. Owner super friendly and nice. Tried the Korean BBq burger which was messy but very good - the shrimp PoBoy was also good. They were out of the corn and lobster today. Parking right out front for an hourly fee or free up top if you take the 5 minute walk down the hill. read more

Terrible service. We came in with a large group on Sunday May 17 around 3:30 - 4pm and while some of us were waiting in line to order, two people in our group were rudely told they could not sit at the benches because they hadn't purchased anything yet. The employee who approached us was a middle-aged blonde woman, and her attitude was very disrespectful. Because of the poor customer service, we decided not to purchase anything at that time and instead sat at the public beach benches. Later, my parents went back to buy an ice cream and a drink, but before they could even finish ordering, the same employee assumed they wanted to sit at the benches again and said, "You still can't sit at the benches when you buy an ice cream and a drink -- you have to buy a combo." My parents ended up walking away because of how rude and unwelcoming the interaction was. We were treated poorly for no reason, and it completely ruined the experience. We were completely surprised and impressed by the quality and how tasty our food was. Snack shacks and beach side ones at that don't have the best reputation for quality food but this place proved us wrong. First of all we love that it's right there at the beach so you don't have to drive anywhere to get food if you are hungry and out of snacks while spending the day at the beach. This shack has two sides. One side has nachos, hot dogs, churros etc. the other side has food. We ordered a Jetty burger with homemade potato salad (which was so good with tons of fresh dill.. my fave!), along with some chicken tenders and fries (my daughter said it was so good), and a side of house made pickled veggies. I'm obsessed with pickled veggies and these were so good! A bit of tang and sweetness AND good for digestion? I'm sold. So so yummy. Will be back for sure. read more

This place is a gem! Our family loves the fries here! Today we got the bbq bacon burger and the shrimp roll. They both come with house made chips and were delicious. The chips are cooked to perfection. Thin and crispy but not hard like you'll take out a filling. The shrimp roll comes with big shrimp not the bay shrimp like I am used to in shrimp rolls and it was fantastic. Drove 35 mins and spent $20 on parking just to find out they like to close before 3pm some days. Between 1pm and 3pm, said the staff on the other side of the busienss. It's 1:30pm and my time and money has been wasted trying to patron this place. Do not advertise hours as such if you cannot abide by them. IMPORTANT: Never expect them to be open. 5 of the 6 times I've gone here, when, according to Yelp, they were "open" they were closed. Including yesterday. The one time I did go when they were open it was just okay. Please cross this off your list, it's never open and when it is, it's just ok. They even have lobster rolls. Their hours do vary and I usually visit this beach on slow days when they are close. (It can get busy here on the weekends). Today, my kids wanted a snack! Their favorite go to are fries! We got a 3 orders of side fries! It came out hot, fresh, crispy! We sat on their nice beach red picnic tables and enjoyed our beach day! BEWARE This location is so convenient when spending the day at Corona Del Mar. the buffalo cauliflower is amazing. Mostly everything we have got here is tasty but definitely pricey. I am giving 3 starts because even the basic things are pricey. Also beware and watch your receipt. My friend had multiple extra charges she would not have been aware of if she chose no printed receipt. We also just learned they will charge .50 just for a few ketchup packs! What is even more concerning is that my friend did not ask for ketchup nor extra sauce, she just noticed a .50 charge for it! She ordered fries but did not ask for ketchup. When she asked what the charge was for given she didn't ask for extra sauce or even ketchup the cashier said they ALWAYS automatically charge .50 cents and routinely don't ask. I mentioned that there is NO sign indicating this up charge and add on and she said "I just work here". I would say beware and check your printed receipt. Also seems like chintzy and non ethical management practices to place these charges and I am sure they make money off this non ethical routine practice!!!!!! read more
