Located inside Four Seasons hotel. The service was top-notch, but the food could've been better. The restaurant gets full and loud quickly, so book early if you prefer to avoid crowds. I got a classic omakase. Zuma is an izakaya, but I wasnt expecting Kalamari to be served as one of my courses. I wish I got more fish in my omakase because the raw fish was surprisingly delicious. The beef tenderloin was the most disappointing part of the meal. I got a nice birthday lava cake/surprise at the end of my meal. The chawanmushi was the most interesting part of my meal.

Spicy tenderloin (don't worry, it's very mild)

Another great meal at Zuma, servers were all super attentive to our needs and took great care of us. Understatedly upscale dining space, with DJ playing lively music on Saturday nights for very cool vibes. We enjoyed our usual favorites- the miso cod, truffle rice (truffles shaved table side), both the spicy (not really spicy) tenderloin beef, and rib-eye steak. We also ordered the toro belly sushi and another sushi maki featuring four different types of fish. All delicious . We were a group of 8 celebrating 3 March birthdays and got the signature dessert platter. The molten lava cake here is the best I've had anywhere. Delish.

10/10 definitely recommend! We decided to finally give Zuma a chance and I can say I'm glad we did. Everything we ordered were delicious even our drinks were made to perfection! The service was good and the Ambiance was great. The food was pricey but totally worth it. Im looking forward to returning

Zuma Boston brings a sleek, contemporary Japanese dining experience to the Back Bay, complete with a lively atmosphere and stunning modern design. The space is dimly lit and energetic, making it an ideal spot for celebrations or a dressed-up night out. It gets busy and loud, especially on weekends, but that energy is part of what makes the vibe work. Service was polished and attentive throughout. Dishes arrived in a steady tapas-style flow, giving us time to try a variety of items without feeling rushed. The staff knew the menu well and offered solid recommendations. We started with the toro sushi, which was smaller than expected but had excellent flavor. The seabass sashimi was a standout, with clean, fresh notes that paired beautifully with the yuzu. The Wagyu tataki arrived as a cold dish, but the truffle and accompanying sauce tied it together nicely. From the robata grill and small plates section, everything was well-executed. We also tried the Bishonen drink, which was decent and paired well with the meal. Dessert ended up being an unexpected highlight, the banana ice cream with wafers was generous enough to share and balanced creamy and crunchy textures perfectly. Zuma delivers on atmosphere, presentation, and quality across the board. Yes, it comes at a premium price point, but the experience feels elevated and memorable. For a special occasion or an impressive night out in Boston, it absolutely delivers.

I was invited to lunch at Zuma on 5/1/2026. My first time there was magical! The atmosphere is soothing and very bright. You feel like you're in another country. We ordered the sliced Sea bass w salmon eggs caviar . This was raw and the best sashimi . Light , fresh and delicious. Moving on to the scallops that were outstanding. Then beef dumplings and avocado shrimp rolls. Beyond the usual taste at Asian and fusion restaurants! Definitely try this outstanding local restaurant when in Boston!!!

Came here for lunch on a weekday and the space wasn't too full - a few other occupied tables, but overall felt pretty empty which wasn't a bad thing. Interior felt pretty modern and upscale which matched the vibes too. We were seated pretty quickly and placed our orders within a reasonable amount of time. The menu was solid with several good options - we settled on getting the ebisu business lunch to share amongst three people so we ordered it multiple times. It seemed like a great deal and it was - we left feeling stuffed! They did end up forgetting one of our dishes and we waited for it for quite a long time, leading to a 2.5 hour long meal. It was frustrating given tables around us were seated, ate, and left long before us despite getting similar amounts of food. We were seated around 12:30, left almost at 3 - way too long! It was unfortunate honestly as the rest of the meal was nice. Overall, our experience was okay - I'd like to believe the length was an anomaly. I wouldn't mind coming back, especially for their brunch, but probably wouldn't go out of my way for it.

I've been here twice now. The 1st experience was definitely a 4 star review. The latest visit was with a larger group and didn't live up to the expectations from the initial visit. Both were on Saturdays, so although it is big inside, it was very packed. With the larger group, the service seemed extra slow! I waited a while before receiving a glass of wine, while others were receiving their food. Entrees were coming out before apps or accompaniments of the dish, such as rice. I also didn't like how each time a dish was brought out, the server would place it at the center of the table and start explaining to everyone what it was. Each time, I'd have to reach in the center of the table to drag the heavy dish to me, but by the time I could do so, the entire table now wants to try my dish, which weren't family style AT ALL. I didn't understand that because when going around the table taking folks orders, you know what THEY personally asked for, same with the drinks that did get placed in front of their respective customer. The black cod is really tasty, as well as their wagyu gyozas. I also enjoyed the spicy fried tofu salad (not sure why the word spicy is included in the title) and their selection of sushi. I tried many different rolls and they all hit! I found the broccolini and the mushrooms to be too salty. I also didn't care for the potatoes, which I found to be hard and bland. Overall, it's a nice restaurant and I'd definitely come back, just with a smaller group.

Zuma Boston never misses. The vibe is upscale but fun, the service is spot-on, and the food is incredible. The yellowtail jalapeño, wagyu gyoza, and sushi rolls are all must-orders, and the cocktails are just as impressive. Perfect spot for a night out, celebration, or anytime you want to feel a little spoiled. One of Boston's best.

Zuma continues to impress with every visit. Having dined here numerous times, I can confidently say it's consistently an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is both sophisticated and contemporary; chic without feeling pretentious. Service is always impeccable as the staff's attention to detail is remarkable. Even the smallest gestures, like refolding your napkin while you step away, showcase their commitment to hospitality at the highest level. The cuisine is outstanding and unwavering in quality. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The miso black cod remains a standout favorite everytime, it is perfectly balanced, delicate, and unforgettable. While the price point is on the higher side relative to portion size, the overall experience more than justifies it. Zuma has become my go to destination for celebrations, or simply when I'm in the mood for an elevated dining experience that never disappoints.

Once in a while, you visit a restaurant that really stands out as something special. Zuma is one of those places, on the second floor of the Four Seasons building on Dalton Street. Zuma is a very upscale Japanese restaurant with three kitchens and an izakaya concept, where customers can order many small plates and share everything. There are hearty entrees available, but if you want sides those are a separate order, like the nice broccolini we got. The good sized interior is like being in another country or somewhere in New York, modern and sleek but overall earthy with much of the space being made of and decorated with wood. They could have included a bowl of rice at least, but the food tasted amazing. 10 oz prime skirt steak with shish chimichurri sauce, which I haven't had before was a wonderful addition with the fantastic, tender steak slices. I also had an equally great beef skewer with shishito pepper and smoked chili soy. We also shared a wonderful lava cake with ice cream and then a great decaf cappuccino with extra foam milk. The service was great and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the place as we asked questions. All in all my experience at Zuma was a very special one and one of the best meals I've had in a long time!

Staff here was very nice and pleasant! The sushi here was obviously very good, but for the price it's just as good as other cheaper restaurants. The sweet potato appetizer was very good!

Tristine was our server and she was so attentive to us, even when Zuma was extremely busy! She recommended the hotpot and sliced lobster, we ended up sharing the hotpot for two people. With two appetizers and the hotpot, it was enough to fill two people up! It was the perfect date night, all thanks to our waitress!!

What a five star experience.... Best werk dinner so far methinks, everything was SO GOOD. The sea bass app was my fav... and maybe the warm portobello bowl. Impeccable lychee martini and beautiful dessert spread. Also possibly the most beautiful restaurant i've ever been in? Was making me feel like i had a trust fund

Clean chowda, Oysters, Lobsta Frites, and a Lobsta Roll (my first). Everything was better than expected. I even got a little education on the oysters from the shuckers. BTW, the red sauce in the dropper bottle is Hella Hot, but really good. The place was rocking and then we found out that there was an upstairs also. Hats off to her:) Food: Since it was restaurant week we just shared everything. For starters we ordered the Tuna Tartare that was excellent. In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate. The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.
