Service is top tier and always so nice! Poke is best in Davis and is such great quality. The variety is unmatched and always hits the spot. You have to go!

Best Poke in Davis! High quality ingredients, tasty sauces and large portions - try it out if you haven't yet. Orders can be made online on in the restaurant and can be taken to go or on site. A nice little terrace offers a great option for lunch.

Large poke bowl

Still a huge fan of this place - since the beginning, the quality of their poke and all of their ingredients have been excellent and it's the easiest thing in the world to order online and then pick up the to-go order, which is always ready when you want it. For me, the small size is perfect - but I recently ordered the large so I could have some leftovers and try even more of the options. My go-to's are the traditional and the salmon poke, always with rice, the cucumbers, crab salad, ginger, edamame and seaweed salad. Sometimes with some furikake. Every last sauce I have tried have been wonderful - my favorites are usually the spicy mayo or the peanut chili but it depends on my mood. Service is always friendly and speedy - and there is always parking spot perfect for picking up without the drudgery of looking for a parking space downtown.

Great food and ambiance. This is one of my regular spots, but since recently they have switched from paper bowls to plastic and honestly I don't feel like coming as often anymore. I hope it's a temporary issue, but it's been happening for quite some time, so I'm afraid there's no plan to return. I just feel disgusted producing so much trash even when eating in.

3 scoops of protein in this one
Jenn V.

Was hit with a nice reminder of inflation when I had lunch here earlier. $19 for a bowl of poke?!?! Goodness. That was for 3 scoops of protein. The larger bowl, with 5 scoops, was a couple bucks more. Ordering was pretty simple. Pick your size - 3 scoops or 5 scoops of protein, pick your base - rice, salad or half and half, pick your proteins, pick 1-2 sauces which you can also have on the side, pick up to 10 sides, and pick up to two toppings. The fish was fresh and tasty. All the sauces, sides and toppings complemented the protein well. Portions are generous so given the price it's worth it. This is more of a grab and go spot, so while there is a bit of indoor and outdoor seating, you'll find most folks just getting their food for takeout. Last, I haven't tried ordering online, but seems to be a good option to skip the wait. I just went in during lunch and ordered in line and the wait wasn't bad at all.

Tiny amount of avocado for $1.50, not even fresh looking

Good in person but delivery I have had repeated bad experiences. They are really stingy with the delivery. The sauces aren't full and they gave me this tiny amount of not so green looking avocado even though I paid extra to have it. Also they are too cheap to give utensils or napkins with the delivery.

Delicious poke bowl!!!

My vacation turned into a flu-cation I had a craving for poke, and had to rely on Door Dash for some of my meals. The selections of restaurants were limited, so I chose Zumapoke. When I took the lid off the poke I was pleasantly surprised by the cutting of the vegetables, and fish!! Everything was presented beautifully!!! Cucumbers were thinly sliced, crab was finely mixed, soy beans lightly blanched, and fish was evenly cubed!!! The whole bowl was delicious!!!!

I love this place!! And the portions are amazing. During Covid they did pick up and it was so easy and even afterwards you can still order in advance and the take away is so easy. The kids bowls are a big hit too. This is one of our favorite spots in davis.

Looking for a quick dinner with friends so we stopped by this poke place to grab food to bring home. Even though they were almost about to close and all the chairs were already put away, they still let us order and patiently waited for us to decide what exactly we wanted! It's $15 for a regular bowl with 3 scoops of rice and $17 for a large with 5 scoops of rice. You can also get crab salad and seaweed salad as toppings too (but avocado and masago costs extra to add). I got a large to try more kinds of fish: - garlic shrimp (favorite) - poke salmon (also favorite) - oyster salmon - spicy tuna - ahi tuna I liked the salmon and shrimp more than the tuna but it's also hard to get super fresh tuna, so if I were to go again I'll probably just stick with the top two. I also like how they have marinated options though instead of just regular fish that they add sauce to. Also appreciate how they let me get sauces to the side instead of automatically adding it in (I assumed the marinated fish would be flavorful enough). They're pretty generous with the amount of fish/toppings packed into one takeout container and didn't miss any of the toppings I wanted!

i liked this place! the vibe isn't as good as good friends and it's more expensive, but the quality of the fish is definitely better :)

Walking around downtown Davis, hunger struck & I was on the prowl for some good eats. A quick Yelp…read moresearch produced Good Friends Hawaiian Poke as a good lead w/ a high rating & relatively healthier fare for takeout. Walking in, it's a bright & clean space. Service ordering at the counter was friendly & patient as I looked over the menu. I eventually zeroed in on the Zesty Flavored Salmon under the Specials/ Rice Bowls. It didn't take long. Handing me the packed to-go container, I immediately noticed its heft. There was a lot of food crammed in there. As soon as I was back in my room, I peeled open the lid to get at the goodies inside. My 1st observation was that there was lot of salmon. A bunch of fresh veggies too. For being on the menu as a rice bowl, there was exactly the right amount of rice underneath everything else. This definitely was not a case of too much rice being added as an empty calories filler. All in all, it was quite tasty. Indeed, even zesty. & enormously filling. Just a massive bowl of delicious salmon/ veg/ rice w/ a sauce that tied it all together. In this economy, Good Friends Hawaiian Poke is a great value. Whenever I'm hungry in Downtown Davis, I'll be back.

This place was just ok. Not worth the drive from Sacramento…read more The fish was flavorful. I ordered the Sweet Oyster Ahi and the Furikake bomb Ahi bowl for $13.95. The fish was flavorful, but not flavorful enough to eat just with rice. In order to get the extras like seaweed, edamame, etc. you had to pick a "style" for an extra $3.95-$4.25. I don't get why that's just not factored in the price like the other poke bowl spots. Either way, if you wanted to add more toppings for texture and taste you had to pay another $1 for each topping. For three bowls, a prawn appetizer, and two canned drinks was $77. The amount of food we received was good, but the whole experience left me very underwhelmed and felt overpriced.

That said, our experience was noticeably impacted by the host. From the moment we walked in, interactions felt more focused on what we couldn't do rather than helping us feel comfortable or welcomed. I was initially told my dog wasn't allowed, which was later clarified when I explained he is a service animal, but subsequent interactions continued to feel corrective rather than hospitable. It stood out because every other staff member we interacted with was warm, social, and inviting, which made the contrast pretty stark. One practical note for future guests: if you order wine, plan to finish it there. They do not offer cork-and-carry, so splitting a bottle only really works if you're prepared to drink a good amount on-site. I'm rooting for this place and hope this feedback is helpful. With a small adjustment in front-of-house approach, this could easily be a fantastic addition to the local bar scene.

We had the seafood tofu hotpot, shrimp wonton, garlic green bean, mongolian beef, half hainan chicken, and ny steak spaghetti to-go. Was a little busy at 7 on a holiday so we waited like ten minutes to get our order in, the guy memorized our order right as I said it lol. He confirmed and we got our soup in ten mins, ten mins for green beans and mongolian beef, another ten minutes for our chicken, then like seven for hotpot. Most disappointing was chicken, it's not hainan at all and just standard hong kong white chicken. Taste is fine and fresh but was sad. Best was the seafood hotpot AND the wonton soup. Both had great flavor and saltiness and was just sooo good. Wontons were very tasty and had a lot of meat, definitely both pork and shrimp, and soup even had little shrimp in it ifkyk. The seafood hotpot had great variety and flavor, my parents were pleased with the fish bits in it, the tofu was yummy bc it's fried tofu, the crab texture was not great maybe overcooked and I didn't like the soft cucumber but otherwise the broccoli scallop shrimp tofu fish bok choy was all great. Green beans and mongolian beef SERIOUSLY needed some wok flavor and wish the beef had black pepper because the seasoning was a bit lacking (wok flavor would be great here) and overall the vegetables were a little undercooked. They were addictive though I definitely kept going back for more. Hot tea is jasmine tea. Service was a bit lackluster but totally understandable and even though I was in a rush we were in and out by an hour and like ten minutes which worked. Ambiance wise, I didn't like how the lights are half brighter and whiter than the sun and half nicely softly lit. Tables are nice wood and a bit sticky but okay. There's random Chinese TV on the walls, very traditional lol and I think no music. Overall very pleased! Will definitely come back as much as possible to support, and highly highly recommend. I went harsh on Tim's because I was expecting perfect dishes, and even though some stuff didn't hit, everything was way beyond average.

What can I say about the sushi? It's absolutely incredible. Today I tried a new spicy shrimp roll. I don't exactly remember the name, but wow, it was so good. Overall, your sushi is just 10/10. I also noticed you've added drinks since the last time I was here. It's been a while, so I didn't know about that, but I love it. I'm really into drinks like that. And they look just as perfect in real life as they do in pictures. Another 10/10. The only small thing I'd maybe suggest is working a little bit on the interior. But honestly, the atmosphere is still great. It really gives that cozy, homey vibe with a nice touch of Asian culture. I've been coming here since back when Davis Sushi & Fusion was in downtown Davis, and I'm genuinely so happy to see you growing. Your menu is much bigger now, and that's really cool to see. You'll see the truck around Sacramento and Davis. I tried them out a few weeks ago. I asked the cashier what was their best seller. He mentioned that they are known for their lamb. Well they are called Smokin'Ewe BBQ. So I gave that a try. I have had lamb before but never smoked BBQ. My order came out quickly. All the hot items came out hot and the cold was cold as it should be. The lamb was sliced thin. All so tender, melt in your mouth texture and tenderness. Lamb in general is gamey tasting. This lamb had the typical gamey taste with a deep bbq smokiness. At first bite, my tastebuds were confused. After several bites, they connected to my brain and luvin it. Traditional lamb flavors melded with smoky BBQ goodness. The plate came with potato salad, baked beans, and a bread roll. I also received a container of what looked like sauce that resembled a herb seasoned sour cream. Being LI, I didn't eat it. The potato salad was traditional and served deliciously chilled. Luved it. I forgot to ask if the beans contained HFCS, so I passed on eating it. It looked and smelled good though. They had other menu items besides lamb such as tri tip, brisket, ribs, chicken, pulled pork and hot links served as an entree plate $19 or a sandwich $14. 3 ribs $10. Mac n cheese $8-14. Sides $7.
