I have to say out of all the gyms I've been to: FBBC, UFC, Planet Fitness, The Camp, and many other local family owned gyms, Concord fitness boot camp aka Fit Body Boot Camp concord has been the absolute best! I lost weight but the change was not just in appearance. I actually felt stronger and could notice the difference in my strength. My energy and endurance was like my teen days. The crazy part is appearance wise this gym has been the least impressive. But Virgil makes the small space functional and you really don't need much more than this. When I showed up for my first trial the location made me hesitant. Virgil's customer service was great and he made me feel welcomed. The other members were friendly and there were all ages and body types. I stayed and loved it. Everyone was extremely helpful and motivating. They all push you to finish your reps, to keep moving and not quit, and if you struggle they make you feel okay with modifying while teaching you ways to work on it until you can one day do what you're struggling with. It was hard but it seemed like within days my body learned how to handle doing sit ups and push ups. Another major part is nutrition. Virgil helped me with a shopping list and meal ideas. He is respectful but also doesn't sugar coat. With each weigh in he reminded me what I needed to do to stay on track. I also learned how to count calories. If I still lived in the area I would see about joining again. If I didn't give it 5 stars it is solely because of the cost. When I went it cost around by $300/month. Is it worth it? Yes. With reassurance from the owner (whose phone number was on Google), it was indeed open for business, I was excited to get moving for my Friday workout. I was introduced to the owner and other people who showed up for the class and I could tell they were regulars. The place looked pretty legit as you know I love legit gyms :-) I was asked to disinfect the bottom of my shoes as street shoes aren't allowed on the floor, since we laid on them for floor workouts. That made me feel better because I ain't tryna rest my head on a floor where people before me don't know where to walk sometimes and you don't know where they come from ahem, SF CITY STREETS!!! This was my first Bootcamp class in a long while so I was pretty thankful that Virgil (owner and trainer) allowed me to modify my workouts. It was a damn good sweat and I had great energy the rest of the day.

It never feels generic or rushed everything we do has a purpose. One thing that really stands out is how organized and thoughtful she is. She created a clear, structured day-to-day plan for our sessions and even shared an Excel sheet so I can easily see and track what we're working on. Being able to visualize my progress keeps me motivated and accountable, and it shows how much she genuinely cares about helping me succeed. Her approach is incredible. There's absolutely no pressure or intimidation just steady encouragement, positivity, and motivation. She knows exactly when to push me and when to adjust, which makes every session both productive and enjoyable. We have fun, we laugh, but we also work hard going from lifting heavy to even heavier weights that I never imagined I would be able to do. I feel stronger both physically and mentally. On top of that the studio is not crowded. It's truly one-on-one, and the focus is completely on you. The entire team at Studio Flex is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The environment feels supportive, comfortable, and uplifting, which makes showing up something I genuinely look forward to. As a result, I had all but given up trying to reestablish a routine. My back has been an issue for decades and I thought that I'd tried everything - chiropractics, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, accupressure ... you name it. I'd resolved to just live with the nearly constant discomfort and occasional debilitating spasms. However, Gabriele has changed my perspective by focusing on carefully building core strength while not aggravating other issues. She listened carefully to my problems, asked about my desired outcomes and she designs each workout specifically for my physiology and my state of progress. I was incredibly out of shape and was really seeking to get back into being physically active regularly for the first time in 6+ years. Coach Felicia was incredibly welcoming and supportive from day 1. I remember during my trial period I mentioned to her - I want to join but I'm concerned I won't be able to stick with it. She said "you're already showing up - you've been showing up all week"... that gave me the confidence to join a 6 week challenge which totally changed my life. For the first time in over a decade I consistently workout 4-6 times per week. The community, coaching, positive energy and overall vibes are what keep me coming back. This is now a habit. I am 40 years old and I am mentally and physically stronger than I was 10 years ago. To say this place has changed my life is an understatement. I am so thankful for the entire TFX community. I have found my happy place!

I had signed up with the gym for 6 months but I quickly fell off the wagon and ended up gaining it all back plus some. My head was not in the right space. I made lots of excuses as to why I shouldn't or "couldn't" go. As my 40th birthday approached a year later I decided to do it again. This time losing a little over 17lbs and I had a shift in my headspace. I was ready for the commitment to myself and I signed up for another 6 months at the gym. I had to find what worked for me. The first challenge I was going to the gym after work which was horrible. It's hot, i'm already tired.. So this time around I switched to mornings! Class started at 5:45am (5:00am now!!) I get my workout done and I am a happy camper. The workouts are great! They really push you but there are modifications given if you need them. Also, time flies in the gym. These workouts are fast paced and get your heart racing. It's a good combo of cardio and weights. The coaches are great, Ale' , Felicia, Gaby and Ashley- they have formed a great supportive community where I am making new friendships and feel like I belong. I used to hate going to the gym.. now I look forward to it!

They usually have 3 separate obstacle courses set up for the kids to play in small groups, which change every week to keep things new and exciting. Think: balance beams, rope swings, climbing walls, monkey bars, stepping stones, etc. The instructors are really hands on when needed, and let the kids do their thing when they've mastered a move. My youngest had some gross and fine motor skill delays before we started here and grew by leaps and bounds with Arista and her team. He enjoyed it a lot more than his other PT/OT sessions -- though he was actually working on a lot of the same skills. His strength, balance, and coordination improved significantly and he had completely caught up before his next well-child visit. As with all activities, this one eventually dropped off our weekly schedule but my boys still beg to come back for the monthly ninja nights. They get pizza, 2.5 hours of ninja warrior fun, and a slightly later bedtime than usual. What's not to love?!

The space is large, and it has a lot to offer. I continued paying for my membership because I genuinely enjoyed the martial arts classes which, in my opinion, is the entire point of this gym's existence. The machines, however, haven't really changed since they opened. It wasn't until after the 10-year anniversary that they finally brought in some new equipment. Now for the part that's personal: management. I cannot stress this enough my PERSONAL experience with management was awful. I was fired after being late to work because I had just been in a car accident. The operations manager at the time, Hannah Amayo (who has since resigned), made my life miserable. She and Kate Hansen teamed up to fire me, and it absolutely broke me at the time because I truly needed that job after being T-boned on my way home. As for the facility itself: the gym was always dirty, bathrooms were frequently broken (sinks, toilets, blow dryers), and equipment constantly needed repairs that never seemed to happen. Maintenance was almost nonexistent from what I saw. I know management has changed since 2019, but I found this review sitting in my drafts and figured it was finally time to post it. Needless to say, I eventually canceled my membership because why would I pay over $100/month for a gym that isn't properly maintained? Instead of opening new locations, they should at least invest in the ones they already have.

He is truly knowledgeable in proper form and the training I acquired from him have transcended across time and gyms I have gone to since then. I started to go to a new gym in the area I live in now and although the trainers there are great they do not compare to the proper training I received from Bob. Even when working out at other gyms not affiliated with bob I am always complimented on my form and technique. I've tried and liked lots of exercise places and routines but this little gem has stolen my heart.
