ATTENTION!!! Make sure you understand how your health plan works and what it covers, especially for seniors. This radiology place will try to squeeze out every last cent from patients. Usually, centers will use both health plan and Medicare but ZPR will charge the most amount, apply the plans and still have patients pay the excessive amount not covered. Call your health plan first and opt for another radiology center, perhaps one TRULY in network. Do not rely on ZPR to answer, they say they are in network but charge the most. Other radiology centers that we have since used have not charged so excessively. read more

Amazing ... high tech, well trained staff ... But, at check in - 45 minute wait & waiting still. We did make the appointment online, only to be met with "I can't find your insurance in the system" The appointment was for 10:30 am. It is 11:11 now. We arrived at 10:20 am. Do the math ... Find another place, their front end system is inadequate & you waste your time The dr. Sent us here or else, I would have left after 15 minutes. To be fair, the staff are courteous and try to help - but the back end software system of this place really sucks ... like the Russians or the Chinese hacked it to reel havoc. The x-ray takes 3 minutes. Disappointing. read more

I came here because I had to get a mammogram. I usually hate going to huge offices because they tend to always be crowded and run behind schedule but they are conveniently located so I decided to give it a shot. Well I am glad I went there. There took care of me right away and within 20 min I was out. The office is super clean, staff was friendly and their equipment seem to be brand new. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star is because the test was a little painful...but it's a mammogram so it is a little expected. read more

My appointment is at 9:00 am and it's been 40 mins already and no one is taking me yet to do a MRI. Instead I keep hearing the employees talking about guys, food or whatever some things not related about work. I thought it's all about pt first. It's not busy at all and I don't understand the wait. It's so unprofessional. So after 50 mins they're cancelling me and sending me to other site because they don't have radiology tech. They sent me to Ozone Park and it's been 2 hours later after my real appointment and I haven't called yet. Great Job! read more

First time visit for a mammogram. One of the workers greeted upon entry. She was at round table before you go up the stairs. She did ask if I've been tested for Covid-19 and if I had any symptoms. I said 'no' and she says, ok you can go up. There was no sanitizer present throughout the facility. The room with the machines did not smell of alcohol, sanitizer, or anything. The Tech in the room did not have any cleaning supplies within eye sight. The bathroom was not clean and this is first visit of the day. I hope they get it together. read more

I brought my 94 year old neighbor here for a CT scan. Damaris greeted her and was absolutely wonderful. My neighbor was nervous. Demaris was not only kind, but professional and courteous assisting with the patient information and explaining the procedure. All the personnel here were very nice. This is an update to my previously 5 star review. Absolutely do not go here. They misread 2 of my reports. A CT that read I had ovaries and metastatic cancer AFTER having a radical hysterectomy with my ovaries removed and all cancer removed. My oncologist had to call them to tell them and told me never to use Zwanger. I stupidly didn't listen and gave them another chance, went to them for an MRI of my Cspine and Lspine. They wrote I had arthritis when I actually had a herniated disc and stenosis. My doctor treated me based on arthritis and when I asked him to reread the report he saw the herniated disc and said the report was terribly written and wouldn't use Zwanger again due to their error. I called to ask them to change the report and they said my doctor would need to call them and explain their error, instead of looking into it themselves. Terrible! read more

I absolutely hate getting MRI's. Well who doesn't!? I suffer from claustrophobia so naturally I was nervous about getting into the tube for an abdominal MRI. The wide bore MRI was definitely more comfortable than the traditional machine. As I got onto the table, the tech asked me which music I'd like to hear and piped in the rock music I requested. Unfortunately my head didn't poke out of the tube, but because I could still see the ceiling and the lights, I didn't feel nearly as claustrophobic as I have at other places. The check-in was a breeze and all of the staff was professional. The procedure took about 30 minutes. If you need an MRI, I highly recommend this location. read more

I was recently at your location in Elmhurst Queens and the staff at the front desk was very rude. I asked to speak to a manager about the issue my husband was having. When The women came out I introduced my self and asked her what's her name. She replied "Vanessa". I stayed,"Vanessa do you have a last name?" she replied, "you don't need my last name". I then asked if we can go to her office to talk in private about my issue and she said replied there is no place to talk because there are to many patients in the back. Vanessa was very unprofessional and never even took the time out to ask what happened. My husband then asked for a release of his medical records and she said he has to pay a copay. He did not want to be seen and the receptionist still wanted to bill his insurance. And denied him his results. I never been to a place where you can't sign a hippa release form to get your medical records. Everywhere you go nowadays will give you online access to your results. read more

I went for magnetic resonance imaging at the newly opened Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology facility in Elmhurst, Queens, and I was very pleased with the service I received. The website made it easy to schedule an appointment, and a telephone representative called promptly and efficiently finished the scheduling process, and followed-up with a reminder preceding the appointment date. Initially it was uncertain if the insurer would cover the MRI, and when I asked the cost if I were to have to pay cash myself, the price was exceptionally competitive. The location is on the south side of Queens Boulevard, between Grand Avenue and Woodhaven Blvd., across from the Target shopping center, and two blocks from the Grand Avenue Newtown subway station (M and R trains) and Q58, Q59, and Q60 buses. The facility itself was bright, clean, and spacious. The reception employees were uniformly friendly and courteous. While there were not many other people there when I visited, that might have been due to this location being new, and not yet being well known in Queens County (the company had long been in Nassau and Suffolk counties, and only recently opened new locations in Queens County and Brooklyn). It did not take long before I was escorted to the lower level, where the imaging is done. Again, the facilities were clean and spacious, including the dressing rooms and the washroom. The radiologist explained the procedure with great courtesy and patience, and no sense of being rushed. The MRI equipment was new and powerful, being the Siemens Magnetom Vida 3 Tesla wide bore machine, making the overall scanning time relatively short. Headphones provided pleasant music that muted the sounds of the beeping and buzzing of the machine, interrupted by the technician who provided directions on when to hold one's breath and when to breathe regularly. A panic bulb provided reassurance, but I did not feel claustrophobic or otherwise had the need to "panic." At the end of the examination I was escorted by the radiologist back upstairs and to the front door, and had a pleasant conversation with him before bidding adieu. While there is a competing radiology center within easy walking distance of my home in downtown Flushing, Queens, it was worthwhile taking the subway (or bus) to Elmhurst for the procedure at Zwanger-Pesiri.I cannot think of how the entire process could have been better, and I can only hope that more businesses follow this model. read more

after being referred for a ct angiogram, zwanger's "call center", in charge of making appointments for their many locations, i was assured that my particulars allowed for having that test done at their lynbrook location. they were wrong. the techno marvel scanners there required that my heart-rate be much lower for that test. my ineligible heart-rate had been duly recorded in my doctor's notes. as a result i was unable to take the test there, squandering hours considering alternatives. then they told me i would need to take a medication for that test, about four times the strength of the dosage my doctor had me stop taking immediately upon learning of its side-effects upon me. this too was documented in my cardiologist's notes. and yet, not a single zwanger nurse, doctor or radiologist spotted these facts....soon after, adding insult to injury, zwanger faxed the results of the calcium scoring test which i took at lynbrook instead to the wrong number/doctor's office, insisting they had confirmation my doctor had received my test results. instead of confirming the correct fax number, they again faxed the results to the wrong place..... moral of this multi-pronged medical mishap--do not trust a medical facility because of its architectural splendor or soothing, elegant decor. they can waste your time and damage your health like anyplace else. too many zwanger-pesiri "cooks spoiled the broth" of my anxiety-ridden tests, ratcheting up my anxiety rather than lessening it as the "center of excellence" they claim to be. so, patient beware--xray them before letting them xray you! a medical testing facility should never be judged by its slick cover. read more
