We ordered the small assorted pancakes and received a large wooden tray of fried items. They were neatly lined up with 4 pieces of each item. They were hot and a bit crispy. The scallion salad was a little salty to me. We were offered small rice bowls for free, which was nice. It made the pancakes into a meal. It really is the perfect dish to eat with alcohol. This place is the worst. It took the waitress 15 mins before taking our order with just 2 other parties. We ordered the potato pancake, green onions pancake, la ribs, and pork belly. The potato cheese pancake came out super flat and small for $7. It probably costs them less than $2 for the ingredients. And it taste exactly like its name, potatoes with cheese. Green onions pancake was okay. Similar to other places. Nothing special here. LA ribs were okay as well. I did appreciate them not loading it with fatty pieces like other places. So thumbs up for this. Still pricey AF though. The pork belly needed to be cooked a big longer. I prefer the fat to be a bit crisper. Overall, flavor was fine. Overall, we were given 3 very tiny side dishes for 3 people. If more side dishes were given, I wouldn't be as salty with their prices. But to charge the same as other korean places and not offer the variety of side dishes is ridiculous. I would not recommend this place. read more

Most restaurants in the area had an hour long wait because it was a Saturday night, so my friend and I decided to try one of the smaller restaurants and I'm so glad we did. The owner will come out and greet everyone and they love to offer more banchan (Korean side dishes) which is some of the best I've had anywhere. If you have never tried Korean pancakes, they are delicious and come in many varieties, and usually come with a dipping sauce. You will also find traditional meals like short ribs, bulgogi, noodle soups, and fried rice so it's great for the whole family. I come here at least once a week because I'm addicted lol. read more

I was so excited to see a Korean pancake restaurant pop up in our area! We stopped by for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and were eager to try everything they have to offer. When the small pancake assortment board came out, we were blown away by the amount of food! These were not your average round green onion pancakes! They reminded me of fluffy tempura assortments, including zucchini, shrimp, brisket, and an amazing green onion salad. The spicy pork was great, too! Great kick and flavorful profile! The only reason why I didn't rate this a straight 5 star is because after awhile, the pancakes all began to taste like one another (maybe too much grease? I'm not sure)! Hubby and I enjoyed the seafood and green onion pancake. It was crunchy and full of shrimp, squid, and long pieces of green onions. Do take advantage of the pair of scissors in the condiments bucket to cut up the pancake into bite-sized pieces. We also ordered bulgogi, but slightly missed the mark. The beef was tough, hard to chew, and not as flavorful as other bulgogi's are. Service was hands off, but we were told to hit the buzzer on the table, if we needed anything rather than a servicer coming by to check on us. The small dining room can get loud, but we also noticed two private rooms for larger parties. We will be back to try the other pancake flavors. read more

We had great first time dining experience at Zzizim. This is first "Jun (korean pancake)" place in Dallas, and the food was pretty tasty. We ordered small assorted pancake, Mussels soup and Haeundae grilled pork - they were all delicious! I really liked grilled pork dish, which is also very good for kids since it is not spicy. My kids loved eating rice with grilled pork. Assorted pancakes were good - because I know it take time and effort to make these pancakes, I think the price was reasonable. A very unique restaurant. When I saw that it was a Korean pancake restaurant, I thought it would be the large Korean pancakes made of flour with seafood and veggies served at many Korean restaurants. However, it is a traditional style of frying up various items like veggies, minced meat or seafood in a thin egg batter. I was a little shocked at the prices when I saw the menu, not realizing that each item was so precious. came with a Korean friend who explained that it is a time consuming process to coat each item and fry them individually so it is often reserved for special occasions. My friend and I ordered a small mix plate to share. It came with a large selection of pancakes, including the Korean perilla leaf folded in half and stuffed with meat, stuffed shiitake mushrooms, lotus root, shrimp, scallops, beef and tons of fish. I enjoyed every single one of them. I've never had Korean perilla fried in such a way and I loved the light meat stuffing in the dishes. The minced meat was flavorful and the veggies even more so. Even though the items were fried, I did not leave feeling heavy and full. I would recommend the mixed sample plate to share. Hopefully I will be back soon with more friends to share the larger plate. read more

came here on wednesday and we ordered a couple of entrees. Surprisingly, we only got 2 side dishes. Really? usually when we go to korean restaurants, even with one entree, they gave us a bunch of side dishes including kimchi. This restaurant only gave us cucumbers and spicy radishes. No kimchi. You heard that right. A korean restaurant without any kimchi. -_____- I don't know if it's because we're chinese and they don't like that or something but the food wasn't good and the service wasn't any better. I would say, however that the food gave us food poisoning for 2 days. Yesterday, it gave me diarrhea for 10 mins, and I felt like throwing up. I ended up calling in sick and missing half of my work shift as a result. My mom had diarrhea and was throwing up at the same time till past midnight. Both of us were and still are sick as dogs. All I can say is that the food isn't really clean. It was expensive too. Only a few entrees and the total came to be $80. We won't ever be back. read more
