OMG! What a wonderful find. The people who live nearby are so lucky. I was traveling for a conference in the area and needed a treat. I went in for a facial and massage and both were outstanding. It doesn't look like much from the street, but the inside is warm and inviting. They have two floors which are nicely decorated and comfortable. I don't remember who my esthetician was, but she worked wonders on my dehydrated face. The massage therapist was Bobby who was excellent and completely professional. This was my first visit to ètant to get a facial with Taylor and wow what an amazing experience I had. The atmosphere was really good, I felt the coziness right away. Very welcoming and great customer service. Let me say my aesthetician Taylor had an awesome hands, I think she did a hydrating facial that she recommended for my face and she did an amazing job; never felt good about my face this much for long time. I adore Etant. I can't often afford to get a massage, but when I feel like a special treat, this is where I go. The staff really is SUPER nice, not fake at all - I'm not sure why someone would get that impression...perhaps we just aren't used to friendliness in Boston! The first massage I had was when I was pregnant and they took such good care of me. I recently went back and treated my sister to her first massage. She was very nervous about it, but they put her at ease, everything was so quiet and peaceful. Scott (the owner) did my massage and it was heavenly - the hour went by waaaaaay too quickly. I've been here for massages a few times (every time I visit Boston) and Fatima is amazing! This time, I tried it with Hailey and she was super too. Very attentive, adjusts to your pressure needs and pain points without interrupting your relaxation experience, overall friendly. I recommend this place to everyone. Excellent massage. The place is serene and beatiful and not at all pretentious. You get the sense that the staff actually like each other and enjoy working there. I found it to me a more relaxing and more professional experience compared to other spas in the area (such as Belle Sante). The masseuse also spends a few minutes talking with you at the end of the session, giving you suggestions as to how to keep yourself relaxed and then gives you a bottle of water -- a nice touch. read more

Discovering étant several years ago changed my life! I go for a massage every other week, and it's the best thing I've done for myself in ages. When you walk in, Jeannie greets you with her wonderful smile. And the massage therapists are highly professional, amazingly talented and imminently certified! (I won't tell you who I see; selfishly I don't want to have to share his magical hands with too many people!) The space is immaculate, quiet and soothing. Etant was phenomenal! My wife and I came here last weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We had a couple's massage with Katie and Fatima, who were both wonderful. The room was comfortable (slightly warm for my taste, but I'm probably in the minority) and dimly lit, with relaxing music. The therapists were very professional--attentive to our needs, while still letting us quietly relax. Our 60-minute massages were perfect - we both felt like jelly afterwards, and didn't want to leave! (Emerging into the bright sun and noon heat on Tremont St. was a shock!) The oil/lotion they used smelled amazing, as well - I really wish we had bought some, or at least asked what it was. I highly recommend Etant to anyone -- the environment is warm and welcoming. I chose Etant from the Yelp reviews. Today I went in for a body scrub and a facial Body scrub was excellent. I felt the layers of reptile skin peeling off! Almost like a mini-massage, too. Facial: Grade B+. This was possibly my fault, as I had selected the "Age Management" one. Not nearly enough exfoliating, and too much moisturizing on top of scaly skin. Again, mostly my fault for not inquiring beforehand. However, also got a neck/arm/shoulder massage and a warm, moisturizing hand treatment that I wasn't expecting. Super, super nice place and staff. Would DEFINITELY go back, especially as there was not one mention of "you should buy X product." Oh, and HUGE perk - they will feed your meter for you! I was ready to get dressed and run across the street in between my treatments, and they said NO! No, just tell us where your car is and we will take care of it. I felt awful for the nice front desk woman who had to go outside in 10 degree temps, but it was pretty fantastic not to go running across the street in between! Prices seemed on par with everywhere else. It was a huge splurge for me but maybe people who do this sort of thing more often would find it reasonable. read more

Etant would get five stars, but they are so darn pricey! I've had several good massages here, but the best was from Johnny. His hands are magical. I also recently had the pleasure of getting a gift certificate for a facial- it was pretty awesome (unfortunately it cannot compare to the most awesomest facial ever, but I'd have to fly to Rhodos, Greece to get that one, so Etant will have to do). My skin felt and looked fab. My experiences at Etant have always been refreshing and can relax me even on the stressiest of days (read: day before bar exam). read more

I got a foot and hand parrafin and moisturizing facial and a full body massage, and let me tell you that this was the best day off of work I've ever had. This place is very chill, the staff is incredibly friendly and the prices are pretty much what I was willing to pay for everything I got. The very beautiful and down to earth Dina gave me my facial and foot and hand parrafin and it was all incredible. My face feels awesome and clean and is glowing and I don't want to touch my face or hands ever again. I made reservations for a Sunday massage treatment for my wife and I. Once we entered we were treated very nicely by the staff. They asked questions to make sure that they focused on the appropriate areas. An hour later I felt wonderful. I need to make sure to not take so long in between my treatments though. The prices are not expensive at all. If you have any questions about that, you can visit their site ahead of time. It is well worth the cost though! My husband decided to book a get away to Boston for a day. We live in "Woostah" (worcester) and I was a bit hesitant that my husband ( a big macho infantry Marine) booked this romantic day because this is something he is not used to doing. My husband told me as soon as he called Ms. Olivier was friendly, compassionate and attentive to what my husband needed. She was kind and welcoming. To be honest my husband said he has never met someone more eager to help him out in his life. (Remember he has traveled around the world more than once so he knows what he is talking about) Fast Forward to our arrival : We met the beautiful and amazing Ms.Olivier and she introduced us to John Koran and Keelon Andrews they were very professional and caring. As for the massages I can not speak much on my husbands experience except, that at times he was surprised by Keelons strength (lets be honest deep tissue can be a little painful) he was also happy that Keelon was able to communicate effectively with him. Now as for me. John Koran was a magic man! I mean I just had a baby 4 months ago and broke a leg while 5 months pregnant! I also am breastfeeding and had the most awkward bra on but didn't want to take it off for obvious reasons and he worked around it. During the massage I felt like I was on clouds! Amazing. He knew my broken leg and knew what needed to be done. I would absolutely recommend everyone I know to John. It wasn't painful, it wasn't monotonous. It was perfect! Honestly I think because of John I would drive the 45 minutes to go back. The massage I received was amazing-I really liked the massage therapist and it was a great experience. I am rating this as a two because I scheduled a follow up appointment and canceled via email (in response to an email they sent to me) because I was sick. They charged me for the full price of the massage and after calling to inquire about this, they insisted that I was required to call (which I don't recall being in the cancellation policy). $130 for an appointment that I canceled is a bit unreasonable. I just got a body polish at etant yesterday and am still basking in my skin's ultimate softness. I was torn between the polish and the salt scrub, and my therapist, Carrie, was awesome - she did both options on my arms so I could compare the two. I ended up going with the body polish because it was even more exfoliating than the salt scrub and easier because I didn't have to get it rinsed off. If I lived in Boston, I would definitely go again...only downside is that there's no cushy waiting room with bath robes and cucumber water...but hey, my skin feels great! read more

I must have walked by the place a dozen times before I even realized there was a spa in there. But once you walk in to your treatment room, you will know you are in for something very nice. Very nice indeed! I have had many massages from the amazing Chuck Ray. HE IS INCREDIBLE. I have never had a better massage anywhere. Confident hands, respectful, not too chatty, and knows when to beat the hell out of a nasty knot and when to use more relaxing techniques. So one of my favorite things ever is to get a good massage. I had one once a while ago, and since then have only experienced sub par massages. Kinda like crack, it's never as good as the first time. well, that all changed today. I went to Randy Sue who seriously gave me the best massage I have ever had. I have never felt better during or after a massage. Personally I like it deep, I mean at home I'll take a hammer to my back, but when I get a deep massage elsewhere they either do it too hard where it's more painful than beneficial, or too light where it doesn't do anything. Randy Sue did it PERFECTLY! It wasn't painful, but had enough pressure to work out all the kinks. She had a very soothing touch and rhythm and used a lot of interesting techniques I have never experienced before. I have had foot reflexology in the past at LePli and it was good, but compared to what she did during the massage it was not even close to how amazing she is. I have been to LePli a few times and had mixed experiences, their prices are about the same but the masseuses have not been on the same level as this place. same goes for Newbury St Day Spa, Daryl Christopher, and Bella Sante. they all pale in comparison! just make an appointment with Randy Sue and get the best damn massage you will ever have in your lifetime. hands down worth every penny and moment of your life! read more

I was given the "Wrap it Up" specialty package here for an anniversary gift and let me tell you, it was one of the most relaxing massages I've ever had. The Wrap It Up comes with a full body massage, paraffin wax hand and feet treatment, and a soothing herbal wrap. By the time I was put into the wrap, I was already halfway to la-la land. I can't remember who my therapist was, but she was simply amazing and so responsive to my needs. I love how real everyone is, how friendly and inviting the atmosphere is, and frankly, how the guests leave so relaxed. I was also given the Wrap it Up package for my anniversary. I changed it to be a facial and a massage, and had to pay the difference. The massage, unfortunately, was pretty terrible. Everything was clean and beautiful, but it literally felt like the masseuse pet me a little and that was it - it was not in the least bit therapeutic. I was totally bummed. The facial was a lot better, but definitely not worth the money. Extractions were also, unfortunately, sub-par. Staff was very very nice, the place was nice looking (but not out of the world) and everything was extremely clean - hence the two stars. read more
