The resort is beautiful. Between the multiple pools, beautiful beach, and well kept amenities, it is a wonderful place to relax and have a good time. There are multiple restaurants around the resort with cuisine ranging from Mexican, Italian, Asian, French, and a steakhouse. The resort is all inclusive, so we also took advantage of the poolside bars and grills that served appetizers, pizza, and small plates. Overall it's a wonderful experience, although the non-Mexican food wasn't as good as the Mexican food and I do think the resort is quite expensive even though it is all inclusive.

Unico has a very elegant modern Boho vibe. It is a midsize resort, but gives you a boutique feel. Some of the restaurants had some of the best food I've had at a resort, including sushi and some of the steak options that we had we got home and gained 10 pounds from our trip, that's our fault because they also offered many activities that would've helped with our fitness. The staff was really warm and welcoming and always asking if there's anything else that they could do for us.

Our stay at Unico Hotel Riviera Maya was wonderful from start to finish. The staff really make the experience, everyone is so attentive and welcoming. From check-in to checkout, we felt well taken care of. The bartenders by the pool were some of our favorites, always smiling, quick to make a drink, and fun to chat with. The activities team also deserves credit, they kept things entertaining with games and music but never made it feel overwhelming. The food was good throughout the restaurants, with a nice variety of options, and the service during meals was excellent. Everything felt fresh. We especially appreciated how the staff went out of their way to remember little details and check in to see if we needed anything. The beach was honestly our favorite part. It's beautiful, clean, and perfect for relaxing. Walking along the shore in the morning was such a peaceful way to start the day. The pools were also great, clean, well-maintained, and we never had an issue finding chairs or a good spot to relax. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, with thoughtful touches that make you feel at home. Everything was kept very clean, and housekeeping did a great job. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is stylish but still very warm. We'll definitely come back!

Flew the husband to Mexico for his 40th birthday! Airport transfer was a little sketch when our driver asked to pull off to grab drink BUT it was fine . From the moment we arrived at the hotel the service was 100% focused on us. Our personal assistant was able to book our dinners and events. He even helped me decorate the room to surprise by husband on his actual birthday. Beautiful resort.

This was one of my favorite vacations. I went on a ladies trip with friends in June 2025. It wss an adults only resort and all-inclusive. The service was impeccable. Our room wss beautiful and very clean. Our swim up pool room was great. The food was outstanding. Even room service wss delicious. We experienced wonderful hospitality at the resort.

Who doesn't want to feel like royalty? We had a fabulous 6 night stay in at Unico. The staff is extremely friendly. They all speak amazing English, communicating is never a problem. Poolside drinks go swimmingly. The resort has several pools: a "quiet" pool, the louder central pool where they host games and exercise classes, and a couple others sprinkled around. The property has five or six restaurants on site that are included. My favorite was the Italian one, the breakfast buffet hits the spot, but the sushi place is a skip for me. The ANIMALS! There's lots of iguanas hanging around, and these little lemur-like monkey guys that WILL try to steal some french fries. The beach was kinda rough and had lots of seaweed when we were there in June, the staff told us that the beach is prettiest in winter, around February. I didn't spend much time on the beach, as it was simply too hot and too far from the bar. There are some characters that hang out around the entrance to the beach. Some guys selling weed and maybe some other stuff (I don't know?) and a couple people offer massages on the beach who are not part of the resort. I heard the beach massages are better than the Unico Spa ones! Although I don't have much other resort experience to compare this to, I think Unico is a great option. It is quite a far drive from the Cancún airport. Keep that in mind when making travel arrangements.

A great place for a family trip, essentially a land cruise. The customer service is incredible though at times a little aggressive, obviously incentivized to sell up. Beautifully manicured and comfortable to plush accommodations. Three or four days here is optimal, while it offers a variety of restaurants options, despite differing cuisines, starts to all taste the same by day three.

I meannnnnn it looks great on the surface level. The staff are nice, the backdrop is beautiful, it's right on the beach, the rooms are esthetically beautiful in a warm brutalist style, the bed is very comfortable and drinks are flowing. My issues are really starting after this with quality, value, accessibility and the food. I'll preface this by saying the rooms aren't cheap. It's $800 a night for the standard swim up room we were in and it was a three day minimum through a travel agency. Quality: you are supposed to have a concierge dedicated to your room and stay. I never heard from anybody and didn't get a single check in like my neighbors did. They ask as part of the pre screening what type of pillows do you want, the signature mixed drink in your room, the scent you want and so on. We didn't get the pillows until ordering them again, we didn't get the liquor for the mixed drink even after following up, the in room scent lasted for all of 15 mins, the turndown service didn't come until the 3rd day and we were leaving the next day. If you are sitting too close to the swim up bar (30ft away) you don't get service. We moved the next day and Euginio took care of us, which one of the two stars this review is getting for him being the only attentive one Rooms falling apart around with rotting some of the doors, tiles coming off the walls in the pool, resurfacing of all the public pools is needed with noticeable wear from foot traffic. Hot water in the room and across the resort was basically nonexistent which after a day of traveling or being in the pool you feel like you can't get clean Value: The drinks are a bait and switch in large part. All the bottles on the walls aren't used unless you specifically call for a liquor. If you don't say tanqueri, you are getting a bargain bin gin and so on. The frozen drink also didn't have really any alcohol in them and we watched them separate to see if there was liquor that would float to the top. A good portion of the swim up rooms face the lawn and main pool so you have virtually no privacy in it and you may have a room that doesn't get any afternoon sun from the building shadow. God forbid you got one of the rooms with the private bathtub. Those are virtually unusable as all of the balcony's are glass so everyone can see you. A Massage is $600 for a couple at the resort which is nuts. Noise from hallways and other people at all hours even on the edge of the resort. Accessibility: Who puts a Members only pools when you are already dropping $3k for a 3 night stay? There are reserved Lounges that no one tells you how to book by the pool. Lack of open restaurants at certain periods during the day and can't even supplement it as there is an Extremely limited room service menu. The entire beach unusable so mark that off your list Food: Food is my favorite part of any vacation but at this point there's not much more to say. Everything was just off slightly with variations. Cinnamon in sushi, donuts that weren't sweet, hard pancakes, menus only with qr codes. The heat lamps didn't work at the buffet, every sit down meal was 2 hours minimum but when they wanted you to leave they would come over with an iPad and ask you for a survey. Overall a 2/5 would not recommend to a friend for a vacation.

Three couples went to this hotel for 4 nights, and had two different experiences. I can only speak from my experience and overall it definitely met our expectations. I did keep a running total and saw 81 iguanas, 6 coati's, 5 agouti's and lots of beautiful king yellow birds over the four days. Eddie at the pool bar was everyone's favorite, Astrid in the Unico 2087 grill was perfection, and our "host" janet was MIA never saw her only got a text 1x but never again. The food at the 3 restaurants definitely had incredible flavors. (Pro tip: we would order every appetizer, multiple mains and multiple desserts all to share and the staff didnt bat an eye) I wish there was some kind of snack spot where you could get crackers or bars, but the only option is meals or breakfast pastries/smoothies (inez cafe). Room service is not a good idea- at least for breakfast, took 1.5 hours, we eventually left the room to get breakfast. Mexico is having a major seaweed problem, but UNICO had a tractor out there every day cleaning up the beach. The white sand is velvety. The turquoise waters were incredible, perfect temperature & sea-thru! We went kayaking twice right off the beach, unfortunately, the snorkeling was canceled due to bad visibility. We did the shared (included) Transportation to and from airport, no problems just another 1-1.5 hours before your long flight home. But was AC and kind driver Would we go again, Probably not but did we have a great experience, yes.

Came here to stay for a day at Unico. Although not there for long, we enjoyed every second of our trip here! The food here is fantastic! The drinks are wonderfully made, and the staff here is seriously some of the best in Mexico! Everyone who stays at Unico is extremely friendly and I can see why, when you take care of the guests, they will be in the best mood. This magical place in Riviera Maya brings the best out of people! A few people I want to mention that made our day trip here memorable: Coni, HOF pool server Marco, pool bartender Alejandro, butler at Unico

A bullet review: Expect 30 minutes getting thru customs Expect 30 minutes picking up checked luggage Expect 30 minutes waiting for van ($175 round trip) no water or beverage offered-buy a bottled water for the one hour+van ride to Unico Bring $1 bills to tip great service Bring bug spray Staff incredibly gracious and helpful Check in was crowded and slow Room was immaculate and hotel was the same Swim up pool king room was awesome and would reserve the same style again If you like quiet ask for your room to be located away from pool with music There is a quiet pool available with bar and food! Loved it! There's not a beverage the bar can't prepare Expect room service to take 30-45 minutes Concierge was a joke, didn't get any call until day two-I learned all of the processes from friends and other staff. Not a 5 star hotel. Blackout curtains are awesome if you need a nap No microwave Pepsi only products Bring sunscreen it's pricey at the resort Bring a floaty if you don't want to purchase An insulated mug is a great benefit to keep your beverages cold-the bar will fill Wicker hats are in your room and can be painted Limited snack basket-if you enjoy sugary teats (licorice, M&M, sweet tarts...) bring a couple Beach towels are available The power went out several times for short periods of time. Don't forget to bring your phone charger. QR codes are popular-the WiFi is poor don't hesitate to ask for a menu Last comment: concierge put an incredible negative aspect on our stay. Learning the ropes on your own when paying $500+ a night, after two talks with management, hearing "we're busy with a lot of customers ", was unprofessional, and caused stress on vacation. Tip the staff that do their jobs happily. Put a tip under the pillow for housekeeping (they are amazing), tip at each meal and don't forget the bar staff.

Absolutely incredible resort! My wife and I stayed 6 amazing nights at this place, for our honeymoon and it won't be our last visit. Room: absolutely incredible. You really feel like you're staying at a 5 star hotel (and I've stayed at a few Four Season Hotels and this is right up there). The bed was also super comfy and the AC always kept the room ice cold. Our room also had a swim up pool which was awesome and super relaxing. Food and Beverages: food wise, this place is incredible. I honestly had so of the best things I've ever had at Unico. By far the best part of Unico! That said.. the alcohol is watered down which isn't too bad since it's free and super hot outside (alcohol and heat aren't the best combos). For stronger drinks, go to the bar adjacent to the main lobby - really cool place to hang out, as well. The rest of the resort: the architecture, styling and atmosphere are also ace - and the resort also smells incredible, from this amazing and peaceful scent in the main lobby to the toilet paper (yes, the toilet paper is also scented). It's the little details that makes this place a true 5 star hotel. Staff and local host: incredible. Everyone acts with kindness at urgency. They're always smiling and greeting you, even when walking by. Our local host, Alberto was also incredible - highly recommend his services. Overall, this place is so much bang for the buck - highly highly recommend it!

Christmas in Mexico! So far it's a great experience. Not sure the low reviews. I think I little bit more research goes a long way. Personally we enjoy the place. Thank you for all staff who worked during the Holiday!

Each building has a concierge that is able to handle bookings or notify you of upcoming activities. My concierge was very helpful and communicated with me through whatsapp. You can also use the hyatt app to find this information. The resort offered many things to do throughout the day. There is also a beautiful beach, and the resort is a short walk to the town of Akumal. Activities were endless (in the morning). There are also some activities that have a limit on participants, so you may need to reserve early such as midnight for paddleboarding, or get to them at least an hour early to have a spot. Unfortunately pools were shutdown by 7. There were multiple restaurant/food options. Drinks were everywhere! There was also drink service at the pools. Room service was included and mini fridge restocked everyday. Tipping was not expected here, but they did accept pesos / US dollars. Overall an amazing experience. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, this is a great place to start.

It was a really nice adult vacation where all you do is eat and drink. Also, the resort offers activities you can join, but some require advance sign-up, which you can do through the app or your building's concierge. There were a good number of restaurants that you could go to. And there was a good number of bars as well. The staff was really nice and frendly always greeting you and making sure that you are okay. One downside is that if you want to lie at the beach, you will need to get there early to get a chair. A majority of the time, we were at the quiet pool, where people would just be doing their own thing, such as reading a book, on their phone, or just taking a nap. Some people would go into the pool from time to time. But definitely more relaxing.

Bali Beds: 10/10 -- free, first-come-first-serve, and perfect for a lazy beach or pool day. No need to pay extra like at some of the fancier resorts. We stayed in October 2025. I was BEYOND nervous about staying here due to some of these reviews,…read morebut we enjoyed our five day stay here and would 100% come back. We were looking for a five day relaxing trip and that's exactly what we got here. Check-in and check out were both extremely easy/quick despite being pressured to upgrade and listening to the sales pitch in the beginning. We declined both of these and just did the basic all-inclusive with no shows or spa services. We were just looking to relax, drink, and eat so this was perfectly fine for us. Entertainment(1/5): I'll start with the bad. Zero entertainment unless you wanted to book an outside excursion or pay extra to see the heavily marketed cabaret show. We weren't looking for a party resort, but there could have at least been music or something by the pool area. Sometimes it felt a little quiet. Room(3/5): We had a jacuzzi suite in villa 71 which was the perfect location; right across from the pool/bar that is open late, and only a five minute walk to the infinity pool or TRS lobby. Our suite came with the basic amenities as well as good quality shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. The suite layout gave the bathroom SOME level of privacy. Our A.C. Worked well despite being on a motion sensor. It would be humid after coming back but would cool down and we were able to sleep comfortably. My only real complaint with the room is that the balcony doors do not have handles to get back inside. We had to leave the doors slightly opened in order to utilize the balconies which meant that the A.C would turn off, and at night mosquitoes would fly into our room. Due to this reason, we didn't really use our jacuzzi and I would probably go with a basic suite next time. Butler(2/5): The "E-Butler" prior to arriving gave us our requested alcohol which was nice, but did not make any dinner reservations for us. Our actual butler was very nice and always available. He did help us secure a dinner reservation on a night where our app said everything was full and always called a cart for us. Our requests for a couple extra waters and our Nespresso pods refilled were either forgotten or ignored despite asking twice. We ended up bumping into our housekeeper and he ended up taking care of us. Grounds(5/5): This resort is beautiful, clean, and MASSIVE. Thankfully there was a cart service that would take us where ever we wanted to go, and all employees were happy to call one for us. We never waited more than five minutes for a cart. We didn't have time to check out all of the other resorts that we had access to, but we had everything we needed on the TRS side anyway. We did venture to the White Sands pool to check out the swim-up bar (a bit odd that they don't have one on the adults side) but the drinks weren't as good. We loved the infinity pool overlooking the ocean and the TRS beach was clean despite the fact that is was a 10 minute cart ride away. The saltwater pool was murky and felt like bath water. There is also plenty of wildlife which I personally LOVED, but everyday around lunchtime dozens and dozens of coatis would come out of the bushes looking for food. Drug dealers would also come out of the bushes offering things like "vapes and blow" which was shocking at first. We politely declined and they left us alone. Food(3.5/5): I had no complaints with anything except for lunch! I would rank them as being above-average for an all-inclusive. Breakfast at Capricho was always good and my fiance loved being able to order steak and eggs every morning. The steak was decent too. Helia's had more variety for both breakfast and lunch, but their food was often cold and you never knew how long these things were sitting at room temperature. We had lunch at Helio's once and it gave me a very upset stomach. We ended up eating at the TRS beach or infinity pool where they served things like nachos, pizza, and occasionally a special. The nachos were GROSS. The pizza was low quality but was always hot, and I never worried about getting sick after eating it. TRS has zero options for dinner unless you have a reservation at one of their (or one of the other resorts) ala-carte restaurants. This is one of their biggest downfalls because the reservation system SUCKS, and if you cant get a reservation the only options were room service or going to the buffets at the family resorts. We were able to get reservations for all but our first night. We did order room service that night and it was solid. Everything was hot and arrived on time. The ala-carte restaurants that we tried were pretty good, and our favorite was El Gaucho. Skip the NY strip and order the flank steak medium rare Drinks(4/5): Definitely above average for an all-inclusive. The bartenders never had a problem adding some more alcohol if you prefer a stronger drink. Service(5/5): All of the staff that we encountered were truly exceptional. Don't be shy with tipping and you will be very well taken care of.

I would not stay here again. The resort is enormous. We explored most of it for fun. Walking in some of the jungly paths was neat. Be aware there are four separate lobbies (one for each "resort" in the complex) and they are not connected, even if you are right next door. So if you want to go to a restaurant or entertainment elsewhere, you need to take a cart or walk a decent bit. We checked out the "secret" pools outside TRS but they weren't really worth it. The only reason to leave the TRS section is to go to some of the other dinner restaurants and bars (Churchhill's, Sports Bar), see entertainment, or go to the far away TRS-only beach. GOOD Our garden view room was very well maintained. We were on the third floor. We liked the premium design and finishes. We liked the overall resort grounds and facilities. Breakfast at Helios, which had some a la carte options as well as an enormous buffet with sweet, savory, fruit, Mexican options, and American options. Casual Mexican food at some of the beach snack bars. The bars and liquor options. The TRS area of the beach, although it is all the way on the opposite end of the resort from TRS, on the edge of the non-Palladium resort next door. They have a small lunch stand and bar, chairs with lots of shade, palm trees, small beach (not much if any seaweed/sargassum), We didn't use the butler much, but they made dinner reservations for us. Staff generally friendly. Easy to get a ride on carts to take you around. Seeing some local animals like flamingos, lizards, and coati. TRS areas are child-free. I walked around the non-TRS lunch buffets to compare to TRS, and TRS did seem to have better lunch options. I emailed the resort in advance and they sent me a preferences sheet which was mostly unnecessary, but we picked two bottled of liquor (included) and they put the correct ones in our room. The pools were nice. We liked the infinity pool and the salt water pool. Gelato at Helios lunch, guac available in many places, BAD The dinner restaurants were all bad. I would not return to any of them by choice. A few dishes here and there were okay, but some were terrible, like the desserts at Brasio (inedible because so much gelatin), the ice cold side dishes at Goucho, and the poor excuse for a "ribeye" steak at Goucho. Just inexcusably bad, given the "premium" advertising. It can be difficult to get reservations. It's impossible on first night you arrive (we had to walk into Brasio early) and some TRS restaurants are closed on some nights. Not much variety for lunch; the two a la carte restaurants are similar, and the pool/beach spots are all similar (tacos, burgers). There was very little for activities and entertainment. There is some nightly entertainment in the non-TRS areas. We saw a Jersey Boys show there and it was awful, we walked out. Other entertainment did not appeal to us. Really bad options and quality for a "premium" resort. TRS didn't feel as premium as it should have. We should have had amazing restaurants, great entertainment, preferred reservations at all non-TRS restaurants, more available bali beds (no, you need to be PTC member), more premium liquor, slightly better mini bar. We didn't get a welcome towel or drink at check in, but some people did. Menu descriptions/translations were low quality. All the restaurant decor was really generic and lame. No hot tubs anywhere. Pools can be chilly at times.

You can snorkel around the jetty and see some big fish, and the beach is swimmable for most except when the surf was sometimes powerful. Even then we went in. The main pool was grande and with a swim up bar. The windowless internet room was a furnace. Not good. The French restaurant was unpleasantly hot inside and the gourmet "tasting" dinner was a dog and pony show. Truth be told, I wouldn't want to be "trapped here" without a car since the location is fairly remote and I would get bored. This is really a Mexican National vacation resort, so plenty of screaming kids running around. This is not the relaxation haven like Ceiba Del Mar, which we left to come here. But we had a car so no worries. Be Live was a good base to cruise all around to the area attractions: the ruins at Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, the underground cenotes and lots more. Lets be blunt: if you're too much of a pussy to drive in Mexico, stay somewhere else. With a balcony room overlooking the beach and just yards from the ocean, I have to give it five stars just for that. My pictures will show you the awesome room location.

My question to the staff- if I am at an all inclusive hotel, the rooms are basic and so is the food ...I am paying a large amount of money for the service I am getting , so if I don't tip at every step, every cup of water , every coffee, every hello- I should be still getting a the hospitality that is aldready included in the price.

They try hard to keep the beach free of sea grass. Marco at the Portofino restaurant was great! Alex at the buffet, who recognized us in Playa del Carmen, was a personality. The poor guy my wife finally tracked down at nine at night to get towels that worked his butt off to help us out (didn't get his name). The sports fields are really nice. With that said, I had two rooms for my family of 5 (including three teenagers) for six days. We picked the hotel because it offered unlimited à la carte dinners. What they don't tell you is that they are generally booked up 2-3 days out and you can't book more than 2 days in advance. So we get there and are told me can't go to a special restaurant for the first two days. We're looking at the buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner exclusively. They're not great, and the choices never materially change. We then made a mistake by not trying to book Thursday and Friday dinner until Wednesday morning to be told... they're all booked up. I was finally able to get the concierge to get us into a dinner on Friday. Please keep in mind that most restaurants are only half-filled, but they are supposedly at capacity. We got into dinner on Thursday by visiting 7 different restaurants before we found a manager who was able to fit us in his half-empty restaurant. Housekeeping was terrible. For one room, they cleaned it on the second day. We had to escalate the issue three times, wait six hours to receive new towels, cups, and for the room to be cleaned on the 5th day. We then had to complain again on the last full day to get the room cleaned! We got comfortable going into the service corridors to get our own towels. We also grew tired of being told that certain features, pools, or drinks were "extra" for "Family Select" or "Preferred" members. I spent $5K for the hotel alone to be told that the basics and amenities were extra. Get used to waiting in lines... for the buffets, the bars, the concierge, etc. We waited an hour and a half at the sports bar (the only restaurant available between lunch and dinner) for terrible food. For example, the garlic bread was half a toasted hot dog bun. The potato skins were half a mid-sized potato. The two jalapeno poppers were roughly 2 inches long. You get the idea. At times, I waited 20-30 minutes to talk to the concierges. There would often be one on duty in each lobby for a hotel with many hundreds of rooms. Overzealous staff kept telling us what we could not do. I couldn't take drinks from the bar (soda) into the sports bar where we were waiting. My son couldn't carry an alcoholic drink for his mother (with me by his side). The entertainment was mediocre at best. Most resorts bring in travelling entertainers with good shows. Not here. The same group of hardworking dancers work all of their shows. Don't expect much variety. My teenagers got plenty of sleep. They had nothing to do at night and complained they were bored. For a family-friendly resort, it caters to young families and little kids. There's no teen club or teen parties. Activities scheduled through the resort (dive shop, excursions, massages) are ludicrously expensive. We got better options from the guys walking the beach. There were other issues, but to top it off, after complaining to the concierge *(especially about the lack of housekeeping, towels, and dinner reservations). They offered us two free hydro-therapy sessions (normally extra cost) at the spa as compensation. So... basically they offered us access to the only hot tubs we found for one-time use. That's not quite cutting it. Finally, we were never given the chance to talk to a manager or supervisor to try to make things right. THAT'S UNACCEPTABLE. Now that I've written the review, let's see if we hear anything.

We were looking for a smaller resort, not somewhere you had to take a trolley to go everywhere, you could walk across this resort in a few min. My first thoughts upon arrival were how beautiful and tropical it felt. The view from our room was amazing! I believe all rooms have waterview? We did get to try all 4 al la carts and the meals were fantastic! We really enjoyed.. the Brazilian / steakhouse! The staff were excellent, especially Alan in customer service, he went way up and beyond! German always there to help around the pool area.. and many others whose names escape me. The music at night was just right, Raymond playing for awhile and then bands would play for an hour or 2.. done by 1030 -11 so not too late, it is not a big party place, was exactly to out liking! I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a great reort to relax and can't wait to return!

Above all, the staff are professional, courteous, and there to make sure your stay is perfect. There is live music every night and activities you can do throughout the day if the weather permits. Unfortunately, we went during high seaweed season (June and July) so we couldn't enjoy the beach much, but it did look like an awesome bay. Will def recommend for those who are craving a relaxing and quality vacation.

Between all the connecting resorts, the property was massive, and a little tricky to navigate at first. Luckily, it was pretty easy getting a golf cart to your destination, if you didn't feel like walking. We spent a lot of time at the White Sands and Colonial pools, which both had swim-up bars. The beach was also nice, although there was some seaweed, and parts were restricted due to the presence of lionfish. Our room was very spacious, and I loved the rain shower head. There was also a separate bathtub/jacuzzi, but we never got around to using that. The bed was comfortable and having a little balcony was nice. We did wake up to a leak in our ceiling one morning, but they impressively quick about getting that fixed. The food situation was hit and miss. The buffets had a huge selection, but the quality of the food really varied. They were also open/closed at odd times, and it was strangely difficult to find food at some points in the day. The Xtra Time Sports Bar was open 24 hours a day, but the food there was actually just bad. We managed to make dinner reservations for most nights, although many of the restaurants booked up very quickly. We tried Poseidon, Bahia e Brasa, Portofino, and La Paisana. Sumptori was apparently the most popular restaurant, but we ended up missing that reservation. Poseidon was nice because it was on the beach, but none of the food was all that great. My favorite of the restaurants was probably Portofino, but the pastas were a lot better than the pizzas. The best thing about the food was the availability of fresh fruit and other healthy options. The resort also had a nice gym and spa area. I got my hair done for the wedding, but I can't say I recommend this service. First off, my blowout cost $115 USD, which was insane. Once the stylist had washed and blow dried my hair, she said that curling/styling wasn't included in the price of a blowout, only a straight dry. She ended up hastily curling my hair as a favor, but it really wasn't the best. The wildlife on the resort property was one of the highlights of our stay! There were so many iguanas, coati, raccoons, agouti, etc. wandering around. I did get bitten by an iguana (my own fault entirely), and the staff was amazing about providing first aid. The medical services office was also fantastic and had a great doctor on staff. Overall, the wedding was beautiful and we enjoyed our experience at Grand Palladium White Sand.

She repeatedly left the desk to ask coworkers questions and even forgot to activate our bracelets for room access. After finally getting to our room, we had to return to the front desk to have the bracelets activated. Transportation around the resort was frustrating. Golf carts refused to give us rides when we asked, despite carts being available. Instead, we were told to wait for other rides to come. Dinner reservations were another major issue. Guests are required to wake up early and be at the desk before 8 a.m. to make reservations for the following day. Same-day reservations are not allowed. If you don't show up at exactly 8 a.m., you're told everything is fully booked--yet the restaurants were consistently about 80% empty. To make things worse, one beachfront restaurant was completely closed. Large areas of the resort were off-limits, which made the experience feel far from "all-inclusive." The resort advertises access and amenities that are actually very restricted once you arrive. The beach was very rocky and not swimmable. A lifeguard told us to move to an area with flags, only for that area to be off-limits to guests staying at White Sands. It made no sense to direct us somewhere we weren't allowed to be. Even basic purchases were frustrating. At the gift shop, they wouldn't accept USD due to lack of change, then took Mexican pesos but still claimed they had no change. We ended up leaving the change just to complete the purchase. A shop operating without change is unacceptable. Overall, staff throughout the resort came across as rude and unhelpful. For the price and expectations of an all-inclusive experience, this resort fell far short. We will continue staying at Hilton resorts instead. Not sure why we even bothered with this one, and we do not recommend it.
