My friends, husband, and I had dinner at 10 Barrel Brewing in Bend, OR after our friend's wedding. The food and drink selections were great. I really enjoyed the Pubhouse burger I ordered and also asked for additional avocado on top. The meat was super juicy and the crispy onion straws were a great addition to the burger. Those who liked beer also ordered some and enjoyed it. The atmosphere is very casual and we sat at a long wooden table. My boyfriend and I's first time to Bend and we went to a bunch of breweries. We were wondering what 10 barrel was going to be like knowing it was owned by Budweiser and going to the Portland location and it being okay but nothing special. It had the most hospitable, nicest staff that we have met yet. They were knowledgeable about the beer, willing to help and the beer selection was truly worth coming out to come get. After a day of trekking around Broken Top, we dropped into 10 Barrel after a friend claimed she had the "best pizza of her life" there. Though skeptical, our crew was facing calorie deficits all around and in no position to debate the finer nuances of a world-class pizza pie. The spot is large with tables to match. We were seated right away on a Monday at 5PM, but it grew noticeably busier and noisier as the night wore on, so plan accordingly. Our server was EXCEPTIONAL on all counts -- but especially with her recommendations. She was unbelievably attentive, just the right amount of chatty and genuinely seemed to enjoy her job and Bend and maybe also just life. It was infectious! Now for the foodstuffs. The fruity beer (Smashberry, maybe?) was the standout. Pretzel bites -- don't think, just do. The pizzas -- god, the pizzas. Exceptional topping distributions. Sauces to die for. We went to 10 Barrel with our family. Our 2 kids had shaved ice from across the street. I asked the server desk if we can sit at a table so that I can have a beer. The server said, "Oh yeah, you can grab a beer and take outdoors to your table." I grabbed my beer and went to our table. 15 minutes later.... a different server said these tables were for the waiting list. There were several tables that were vacant and NOBODY was waiting to get in to this place. I was almost done with my beer anyhow, but that was terrible service. I was previously a huge 10 barrel fan, having visited every time I was visiting Bend, but I'm planning to pass going forward. Previously the food was fresh, creative, and diverse. I loved the diversity of their menu, including salads (which I normally don't order), Indian bread pudding, and a wider array of entrees. Now the menu has been reduced to standard pub food (burgers, pizza, and a few other things). We had the steak nacho nachos and a split pizza. Neither were memorable. The other downfall of our visit was that they were out of near all their sours (same as last time), so unless you want a dark or hoppy bear, options are limited. read more

There is a 10 barrel location in my town, but I never realized that there was one in bend! I looked for their menus on the Yelp app but the website link wasn't working, so I used a photo so I could decide what I was going to eat before I got there. That ones on me. Apparently, the photo was outdated because the menu I received was totally different than the one in the photo. Anyways, I got a custom pizza with tomatoes, basil, and feta. Other than there being not that much feta, the pizza wasn't bad, not the best, but not bad. The service was pretty good and our server was nice. The only true downside was the volume. There was a Mother's Day event happening and everyone was yelling in the other room. If you are a hardcore extrovert and love that type of environment, by all means this is the place for you. Super cool atmosphere with live music. However, it is always jam packed. Our table was blocked in by random people waiting to be sat. There was also bowls of dog water under our table that we stepped in by mistake because they were hidden. Service is extremely slow. Great place to drink because of the atmosphere but I wouldn't spend the 10-12 dollars for a cocktail, obviously more of a beer place but def wouldn't get a cocktail again. Furthermore, the service was awful. No silverware. Skipped people at our table for orders for who knows why, and our food was raw. This place was a madhouse on a Saturday night. We put our name in and was told it would be a 25-45 minute wait. The inside was crowded so we decided to wait outside which was freezing. They had their fire pit going so we walked there to warm up my 84 year old mother just to be told while he was passing that we could only be there if we were seated at a bench. No other explanation. We saw a bench open which sat 2 but were we able to sit there or have to be seated by a staff member. Three staff that told us didn't seem interested in telling us so we decided to wait back inside even though there wasn't a real waiting area. The same hostess that took my husband's reservation approached him asking if he needed help. He told her he had already put our names in. We got lucky and 2 tables we gone and cleaned within 25 minutes. Our server was a doll and so helpful. We got some samples of their IPAs and settled for Joe's IPA. We had the nachos which were great and so was the pizza. Except for the incident with the outdoor and it being too cold to wait outside, this place was pretty good. read more

We had lunch here while visiting Bend for the first time. I had the Maple Fried Chicken "Sando", while my wife had the Israeli Cous Cous Salad. The Sando was the best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. Truly delicious and crunchy, though very drippy. The salad was also excellent, but a tiny bit too salty. While on a cross country roadtrip, we stopped in to 10 Barrel for dinner and a beer flight this past July 4th. Our meal was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the beers we tried, especially the Apocalypse IPA. Not huge fans of sour beers, these were surprisingly fruity and refreshing without an overly sour punch. Towards the end of our meal, a young man, who had to be somewhere in his 20s, came over and thanked my husband for his military service and told him he was going to pay for our tab. While more often than not prior military members are able to tell others who served, the only outwardly distinguishing characteristic was my husband's memorial bracelet. We asked him if he was prior military himself, but he declined to answer -- We're still not sure if he himself was a current or prior service member or perhaps he'd lost a friend or family member, but he seemed to be personally affected. We, as well as our waiter and the bartender, were stunned by his selfless act of kindness. We all around enjoyed the food, the beer, and the atmosphere and had planned to stop in again next time we visit Bend. However, we were extremely disappointed to hear the announcement late last year that 10 Barrel had sold out to Anheuser-Busch, a foreign based corporate giant. Unfortunately, as a result, we will never visit their establishments or drink their beer again. The craft beer world thrives on experimentation and creativity, brings people together, and fosters a sense of community, and Anheuser-Busch would gladly squash the little guys, like 10 Barrel was not too long ago without the support and enthusiasm from its local community, and stifle innovation in the name of profits. While money makes the world go 'round, we'd much rather support craft breweries that put the love of making quality beer above the pursuit of money. read more

These beers are SUPER overrated. They all lack in CO2: very watery beers with hoppy flavors.. Disappointed. **** Foods **** They have a big burger menu. Its patty was sort of rare like "Umami" burger. Unless I do know the meats were fresh, I'll cook it to medium at least. French fries: Shoe strings. Big volume. Nothing special. They gave me cold and old fries first. I do love French fries and rarely send my dish back at the restaurant. But I had to do it. Why should I give up the quality though I paid a lot more than it worth? I shouldn't. Shrimp pizza: Pizza was big, so I ordered a half & half. White sauce with lots of goat cheese, which really lacked in flavors. Shrimps were tender and medium rare. No good. The crust was American style - a little thicker than NY style and soft. It takes time to cook it, too. Mushroom pizza: It was a light pizza and had lots of mushrooms. Not bad. - Conqueror's Deduction - After I tried so many Oregon beers, these beers pretty suck to me. I have neglected to write a review about one of my favorite breweries ever!?!? I'm slightly disappointed in myself for this one. You would think that visiting an incredibly fantastic brewery, drinking tons of great beer and eating mounds of delicious food would've been one of the first reviews on my mind!! We came here during our trip to Brew fest. I've been a BIG fan of 10 Barrel's Apocalypse IPA and their OG Ale. Those 2 beers are on my top 5 favorite brews. We arrived on a Sunday and WOW, was this place packed. I'm not talking lots of people, i'm talking straight up PACKED like a can of sardines. The wait for a table was 45 minutes, and we had the option to find a seat at the patio if we liked. I guess the Birthday/Beer God's were smiling down on us, because as we walked to the outside patio to take a look, an older couple got up and offered us their seats. SCORE!!!!! Service here was spot on. Considering how busy they were, the bartenders had some mad multitasking skills. While working, the bartender was chatting us up talking to us about what beers we wanted to try. I had my first sour beer here. I can honestly say that it wasn't too bad!! For my first time, I enjoyed it!! I couldn't do a few 22's like their IPA, but it was good none the less. After a few OG Ales, I decided to try their Gorgonzola Steak Nachos. HOLLY HELL!!! This mess of food was a freaking challenge in itself. It stood about 6 inches tall and 8" in diameter, absolutely loaded to the rim with fixings. Two people can share this easily. They make it with BBQ chips, so after a while it became a little too much for me, however if I was sharing this, it would've been perfect. The setup here is great, atmosphere is awesome, service was immaculate considering the CRAZY amount of people that were all here. We recently spent just about 20 hours in Bend and definitely tried to make the most of it. And by "make the most of it" I mean we hit up three breweries, including a beer release party, to enjoy tasty brews and a lot of delicious food. 10 Barrel Brewing was our lunch choice before heading home. We walked the mile or so from the Double Tree Hotel downtown, through the beautiful Drake Park, and were seated promptly. As others have mentioned, the chairs are crazy heavy. I've been doing strength training so I didn't need help. Service was great and we had our choice of patio or inside tables. The beer samplers include 10, 3-ounce pours for $10. A delicious deal. They have a wide range of varieties available, including a few strong hoppy options. For food, we started with the fried brussels sprouts which were incredible. The big hunks of bacon were a nice touch. For my main dish, I got the tuna salad sandwich which was also very good. I especially liked the crispy beet chips on top. My honey got a steak salad which looked delicious and he confirmed that is also tasted great. read more

It was our server who saved the day on this our third visit, after a disastrous experience for service on our second visit amd a dicey one on the first.. Cribbing a line from a Yelp friend that goes something like this "A bad meal on occasion is understandable, but there is never a reasonable excuse for bad service." But I dried my tears and went back to 10 Barrel with hubby in tow on a lovely crisp day when lunch on the patio sounded like a good idea. This time service was great and the food was better tha in the past. Based on three visits, once as a foursome and twice as a twosome, we can recommend only three items and even they can be touch and go for kitchen consistency... ...the pulled pork sandwich on the toasted Diliusso jalapeno bun and ...the veggie burger - but ask for the jalapeno bun for that one too, ...house salad with any of the home made dressing For those who need gluten free options there are several here, including gluten free pizza. Portions are generous and prices are on par with Bend. Which is to say over priced. But that is par for Bend. Lunch of small pizza and veggie burger lu with one coffee and a lemonade was $28. As for the beer, we hear it's good although not a libation we've ever learned to appreciate for calories associated vs return delivered. For those who feel the same, note 10 Barrel has a wine menu and also a full bar. If you have a well behaved dog on a leash your canine companion is welcome on the patio. read more

Disclaimer: I am a huge nachos enthusiast. I will almost never order anything else if nachos are on the menu so I was super excited to try the steak and Gorgonzola nachos from here. However, I ended up being extremely disappointed. My brother and I both ordered the nachos and while it did look visually delicious, it was literally inedible. This is coming from a guy who thinks nachos from Taco Del Mar with nachos cheese is better The nachos were ridiculously over salted to the point where I could not keep eating if I wanted to. This is a big deal for me because I never NOT eat food that I buy in restaurants. Both my brother and I had to return the nachos and we specifically asked if we could get a less salted version. Some 40 minutes later we got our second batch of nachos and while the salt level was slightly decreased, we both tried to share the nachos with the rest of our group of 10 but none of us could enjoy it because it was still inedible and we just called it quits and left it uneaten. Server was friendly and did not hesitate to take back the nachos for us but I cannot overlook the fact that I couldn't even eat 1/5th of the dish despite being starving and having a low tolerance for eating less than average food over the years read more

Sit at the outdoor bar, order the sampler (yes, 10 beers..), enjoy the vivacious crowd of mostly locals with some visitors (like myself) and enjoy every second of it. Both places had an hour wait, however 10 Barrell has a nice tap room and cozy backyard with a fire pit so we waited at 10 Barrell. Although i don't drink beer but the 10 for 10 samplers was a great deal and the group liked it. We ordered the nachos, chips & salsa and wings. I especially liked the lime flavored wings. After our experience at Brother Jon, i wished we would have stayed for dinner as well. I can see why people complained about their service. WOW! What an amazing experience. The food here is just amazing. I have been here a few times and each time is just as amazing as the last. I had the 10 Barrel Burger the first time and it was fantastic! Juice and flavorful with topping perfect for the sandwich and the fries were just as good; crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. I had the pork tacos the next time and they were equally delicious. The cabbage slaw on top made them. Dont even get me started on the beer! Great selection, anything you like they have! My Uber driver failed to bring half my order, only bringing me the salad and not my pizza. When I called to speak with the staff to see what I could do to still get my pizza delivered,(I spoke with Adam the manager on staff), they called Uber for me to see what steps I needed to take to get refunded. Decided to go to 10 Barrel for a quick snack and a few beers after a day of traveling. It did not disappoint! We enjoyed the steak and gorgonzola nachos immensely. The ratio of toppings to chip was perfect (a definite must for nachos :) ) The combo of steak and creamy gorgonzola was perfect and filling. We split the nachos and had a few beers each - made for a wonderful evening! (My other half had two oyster shooters - I respectfully bowed out of that opportunity - but he said they were good and would recommend...for those who enjoy oysters.) Additionally, we were seated family(ish) style next to another couple that provided intermittent friendly conversation - meaning, it's definitely a laid back ambiance, perfect for us.
