Decide to try here because of the great reviews and the fish sandwich was delicious and the fillet for the fish was a good portion. Located in a small town district with some restaurants and other beer establishments. The tartar sauce was good and the fish sandwich was served with potatoes chips or for an additional charge you can get fries. Service was okay and restroom was clean. Parking in front on the street and it is 2 hours parking no meter or charge it is free in Bend Oregon

Jon's Ale House - Bend, Oregon This place was packed when we went, but the staff was still super friendly and attentive. The vibe was fun and welcoming! Food portions were huge (like... come hungry fr), and everything was delicious. I added a pic and video because it was that good. Definitely a must-try if you're in Bend!

They had a great menu, staff were very friendly with the regulars, seems like a local hangout. I was traeling thru and stopped by for a snack. Onion soup was ok, the steak bites were good. Generous portion of meat. Would have enjoyed a few more dipping sauce options but otherwise a nice stop.

Downtown Bend is a haven for beer lovers. We went to as many breweries and taprooms as we could; Brother Jon's was one of our only beer bars as we were in need of an afternoon snack. The place feels like an old diner, with booths around the outside, a big bar, tables filling the main space, and beer kitsch all over the walls. The taplist was great, with many local options. I opted for an IPA from a nearby brewery that happened to be closed that day. We also had soft pretzels and other snacks. Everything was alright - service was just okay, it didn't feel welcoming but it wasn't bad either. It was the kind of place we knew we were done after one drink. Prices were reasonable as well.

I had a wonderful salmon sandwich at Brother Jon's Alehouse last night. The bun was really fresh and the salmon was perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed the chips and guacamole, and a bite of my friend's perfectly cooked soft huge pretzel. The servers were friendly and efficient, although I got the sense that they were very overworked. I could have done without the really loud atmosphere, but that is to be expected at a sports bar. We were glad that we ate here, as our vegan friend found a good quinoa bowl, and the rest of us found range other good options. It was also reasonably priced compared to some other restaurants.

Delicious! And the strawberry lemonade is out of this world! And the best tasting pretzel I've ever had. The French onion and the cobb salad were very tasty.

This is one of the 1st restaurants I went to years ago after moving here and one I've been to more than a lot of others. What can I say? Great service and great food. I typically order their French Dip (prob 90% of the time). The sandwich itself is generously portioned on that Sparrow hoagie and their Au Jus has a great flavor. This is probably tied with Broken Top for the best dip in town (although BTBS's is very different). The other day, I went with the Steak Sandwich, which I don't remember seeing that particular version before. It was the Garlic-soy marinated flank steak with chimmichurri, havarti, arugula, tomato, and onion. Wow! So many fantastic flavors and textures packed into that sandwich!! As usual, the meat on the sandwich was plentiful, with steak stretching from one edge, non-stop, to the other. Look at my pic, see the juices glistening in the steak! The way the chimmichurri soaked into the bun was just awesome. The havarti was just softened and not overly melted. And a Sparrow hoagie...? Just about perfection. I may have found a new fave. It's a little expensive at $17, but add some fries and you could prob split with someone for a reasonable lunch. Brother John's does it right across the board. If you haven't been, you need to check it out today!

    Couple fancy drinks.
    Jeremy N.

Ended up here after walking downtown. Nice location and very friendly waitress. Only a short wait and they texted when ready. We split the tot-chos and the fish and chips. Way to much food for the two of us. Everything was good. Fish was the best part. Drinks were good but I was hopping for a little more fancy. Kind of reminded me of apple bees drinks, but they were tasty and effective.

I wanna start off by saying the service was amazing, I came here with my girlfriend visiting from California and she saw this place and decided to give it a shot and I'm happy I did! The lady Dani was super friendly and checked in multiple times and made sure everything was great! The food was delicious and I highly recommend the blacked salmon and pesto Mac and cheese! We also got the moonlight which was amazing, I would definitely recommend you to give it a try!

The pepper wasn't the problem, and being snide to a customer who hadn't complained or asked for anything despite my disappointment in the dish was unnecessary and rude. On the plus side, the beer was good and what I expect from Deschutes. Given that there are a bunch of brewery restaurants within a few blocks, I would have expected more flavorful food and absolutely a better experience with the staff.

Unfortunately, our main courses came out much, much later and lukewarm. Luckily, the food was good enough that it made up for the temperature. I had the NY strip steak. The steak and the Boursin mashed potatoes alone were very good. The pickled onions and chimichurri complemented the meat very well. The meal was supposed to include brussel sprouts but came with a grilled broccoli cauliflower assortment instead. My wife had the Scallop Risotto which was also a great recommendation from the server. In reality, The Hook & Plow deserved 3 1/2 stars but that's not an option on Yelp. Verdict: Zydeco is an outstanding restaurant in virtually every way. No negatives to report. The place is popular - arriving just before opening on a weekday, there was a line to get in. Reservations are definitely a good idea here. Our early arrival in line allowed us to choose a good table in the back, where it wouldn't be too hectic. That too was a good idea as the place gets loud with conversation when it fills up. Music wasn't loud, just the people. The menu isn't huge but there are quite a few, varied choices. Given the meal was a bit of a splurge for us, I essentially ignored the prices, which are not trivial by any means. Fine dining entails spending money. Zydeco has a ton of reviews and as the menu apparently doesn't change, I'll just say everything we ordered was great. Cocktails too. The Bramble Down is exquisite. Service was top tier as well. Timely, attentive, professional without being stiff. The capstone to our experience involved the bill. We actually had a gift card from 2017 - nine years ago. While it certainly didn't cover the whole bill, or even half, it was a nice way to defray costs. Unfortunately, when the server ran the gift card, it showed no balance. Not sure why but perhaps over the years, the card had been erased by stray EMF. Despite that and given we provided the card receipt, the restaurant honored the card for the full amount anyway. Well done. Highly recommended.
