Amazing service. Rear windshield was broken by a vandal on my leased car so I needed to replace it with dealer glass. The install price was $50 dollars cheaper than the dealership and he picked up the glass from the dealer and repaired it at my house which was awesome. Also the glass was broken Thursday night and the replacement glass wouldn't arrive until Monday so he stopped by and covered up the broken window so it wouldn't be open all weekend. I had two car windows smashed the other evening and wanted them fixed as soon as possible. I called around and landed on Chantos and could not have gotten better service! He responded immediately and within 2-3 hours from my call he had found the glass for my car and had replaced the two windows. He has replaced or repaired four windows on my partner's and my cars now, all expertly done, all within a day, at our house, and all much less expensively than the other guys. (Not including the one time he told me very honestly that he couldn't match another shop's price and I should just go there. That impressed me as much as anything else.) It's that time of the year again where the roads suck and a rock kicked up causing a ding to my windshield; not even 4 months back I had replaced my windshield due to the same road hazard. Update: On a different car I needed a new windshield. Chantos was again great. He rolled up in his customized van, with solar panels for the vacuum and air compressor, and a banzai tree and bamboo plants to make it nice. His work was perfect, and he explained each step to my curious kids. Old review: Chantos was great. The "other guys" all said a a ten inch crack was unrepairable - not what I wanted to hear for an old car worth maybe $500 . Chantos does not have that fear. He arrived in 20 minutes, showed me exactly his technique, collected his $60 and was off. And if it the crack does grow, he'll refund the $60. If you have a chip, call him today. WOW. Amazing service. I called for a quote and he was able to give me a price that was more affordable than my insurance recommended partner( not a big surprise there). He was also more affordable than the other places I called. He also was able to fit me in the same day I called, which was very appreciative. Now to the service: the service was great. I needed the back glass replaced after a break in. He disassembled the rear hatch and cleaned all the glass. He was very diligent to make sure there was no glass in my rear hatch panel that would rattle around even reaching in for that single last piece. He was very professional and quick. I was really annoyed when I noticed a crack in my windshield and was told it would need to be replaced. I thought the replacement would take a whole day and cost at least $500. I searched around and noticed this company had really good reviews. I called and quickly got a quote (amazing price!), and was told that they could come out to me today. Chantos is THE MAN! Had my car broken into recently that left me with a smashed front driver's side window. Too bad whoever was trying to steal something from my car didn't get anything, they didn't even bother to take my copy of the latest Beyonce CD (how dare they!). But anyway, a broken window is always a bummer. Chantos, however, was the silver lining. I called a lot of different places and they weren't able to have me come in till the next day. Chantos was there in an instant, but he found out that his glass supplier mislabeled the glass he got for my car. No worries though because Chantos went and got the correct glass shortly thereafter. The BEST! Chantos way exceeded my expectations, eventhough I had high expectations because of his perfect Yelp score. He was able to swing by my house and fix my car window the same morning I called. He was on time (early even) and worked quickly. He gave me a great price (I had called around to a few places). He also gave me some advice on how to avoid having my car broken into in the future. What can I say that everyone has not said?! Chantos did a fantastic job and offers really friendly customer service. He was the first person to respond to my request for a quote and offered the best price. I made an appointment and found out that he would come to my home to change the windshield of my 2013 Subaru Outback. On a road trip a rock hit the glass and a crack started to form. He's a one man shop; answers his own class, and has very little overhead so the prices he offers to his customers is the best price you can get. Use him, you would be supporting a local business and family man. Also found out that he can stop cracks, if you're ok with the aesthetic of a small crack. He's apparently the only guy in the state able to do that, and he offers a life time guarantee. And he, like other businesses, can fix chips. He accepts credit cards but checks are best so that he doesn't have to pay the fees. He has two kids under two and those fees could pay for diapers! Pay with a check please! read more

Chantos provides the best and most personable customer service I have ever experienced. He's fixed my auto glass twice now (once to fix a chipped windshield and once to replace a whole quarter window) and each time he was prompt and ultra efficient. He's done in under an hour. He also saved us 50% by finding an original Colorlite autoglass from a used vehicle of the same make and model - in just 10 minutes. His labor costs are also by far the lowest I've found in the area and, unlike some auto shops, he is willing to give you a quote up front over the phone. Amazing value. I got hold of Chantos in the late afternoon the night before I was going out of town. It didn't work for him to come out and fix my window that afternoon, so I told him I would call him in a few days when I got back into town. He had no idea whether I was going to really call him back or not. I did call him when I returned and he remembered me and told me that he had looked into the specific window I needed and that the only place he could get it was from the dealer. I was impressed that he had done that without knowing that I would ever call him back or not. He then said he would call the dealer to see if they had the window in stock. He called me back a short while later to tell me that the Oakland VW dealer wasn't answering their phones (no surprise there as they are the worst), so he was going to go there in person himself to see about the window. I couldn't believe it, but he called me back a short while later to say that they had to order the window but if I wanted to work with him, he would order it, pay for it, go back and pick it up in Oakland the next day, and then drive out to my work in Richmond to install it. And he did all of this. I give 101 Auto Glass my highest recommendation. What incredible customer service and dedication. All of the five star reviews are there for a reason: 101 Auto Glass and Chantos are the real deal. I called him first based on the Yelp reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I have a 1989 Ford F150 that needed a rear sliding window and a new windshield. I found the replacement rear window online and ordered it and had Chantos come to my house to replace both windows. He was on time (actually he was early!) and he immediately struck me as a very friendly, sweet man. He showed me the replacement windshield, pointing out that it was a factory Ford windshield. I gave him the box with the rear window and he immediately commented on the company that made the rear window, telling me that it is a good product. I don't think that it took him more than an hour and a half to complete the entire job. When I went to check on him he stepped back and pointed to the truck, telling me proudly that it was all done. And done to perfection, I might add. On top of all of that, I was fiddling with the windshield wipers while Chantos was writing up the receipt. He proceeded to show me a quick and easy way to remove the wiper arms to replace the blades. When he gave me the invoice for the job I was even more impressed. He was more than reasonable for the job that he did. I was so happy that I gave him a $20 tip, which he politely refused until I insisted. There may be better mobile window repair companies in the Santa Rosa area but I'll never know because this is the only place and person that I will deal with if I need auto glass. read more

It was a blessing in disguise I wasted a week waiting for a highly rated local body shop which didn't advertise a year-end one-week vacation (which advertises windshield replacement) only to find out they don't do windshield replacements. They were not my first choice, but I went with 101 since my first choice didn't call me back for several hours since they were busy, and 101 was available, ready, willing and able to work with my insurance provider and have excellent communication skills. The ratings are right on the spot for this service. Some jerk broke into my car right beneath my apartment unit and stole...wait for it... TOILET PAPER and paper towels. Thanks, Berkeley. I felt so angry, creeped out, and majorly upset by the whole event since someone had to walk in from the street fairly far up our driveway for this to happen. After taping some plastic bags over my window, I did a search online to see what options I had for having someone come to my location to fix it. (I had no idea this even existed; my neighbor mentioned it) I was about to order a service online, when I thought to look at Yelp on the off-chance I might find something better. I was able to schedule Chantos the next day and he gave me a very fair estimate and a very specific time-window for when he would arrive. So it turns out I gave him the wrong window size...and he arrives, assesses what the correct size would be, and rushes out to get the correct glass piece. Mind you, this is at 4:40...when most auto-related shops are closing for the day. He says he'll be right back, and sure enough, he's back quickly and goes right to work on fixing my window. None of this "too bad, so sad- you were wrong so you have to wait until tomorrow to get this fixed"- he went out of his way to get the job done quickly and correctly. He was quick, vacuumed the glass on the ground outside as well as all the shards on and under my seats, and he tuned up the window so it's working better than it did previously. Super funny guy, easy to talk to, and all in all performed the service exceeding any expectations I had. He definitely helped turn a horrible, upsetting situation around by helping me feel 'normal' again and fixing my window quickly. East Bay peeps, our Subaru was broken into on 47th & Telegraph (kinda across from Burma Superstar) on May 15, 2015. Someone busted out our passenger window, along with the window of another car parked in front of us. Whenever I'd hear about this happening to other people here, I'd say, "I'm glad this hasn't happened to us - yet." When this DOES happen to you, call this guy. He was GREAT. He arrived at our door approx. 40 min. after I called him with the correct window to install. Less than 45 minutes later, he was done with the installation. Some, although open, I had to leave messages with cause no one picked up. 101 Auto Glass picked up on the 2nd ring. This was the third year in a row I had a window broken right before the holidays. 101 showed up exactly at 9 am, covered my car with a tarp to prevent rain from getting inside, and was done with the specified 45 minute window. Chantos was able to make my life so much easier in the aftermath of my car break-in. I called around to a bunch of places trying to find someone to repair the rear door window, and got a range of prices between $250 - $330 around here. Everyone told me the same thing -- the glass for my car is weirdly expensive (two different quotes said the glass itself was $190) and everyone seemed shocked by the sticker price for a seemingly normal Toyota window. But Chantos didn't just quote a price (around $250) and leave it at that. He called back within ten minutes and said he was so struck by the price of the glass that he called his manufacturer and got him to do a price match. He came back with a total cost of $205 including labor. Add to that that Campos met me right outside my office, worked outside while I worked inside, and easily took care of the clean up and everything else -- and I would say this is the best possible outcome for a crappy situation. I'm happy that I didn't have to take a day off of work to deal with this and was able to get something that cost so much less than the competition. I hope I never have to use his services again, but if I ever have a problem with auto glass, I'm definitely calling 101. read more

My trip down 880 in Oakland left me with a quarter size crack in my windshield after one of the many flying rocks smacked my windshield. We had a smashing experience with 101 Auto Glass, Chantos is a clearly a crack technician. If you are like me and frantically searching Yelp after just having a car broken into and windows smashed, stop reading this and call them for a quote. You won't regret it. That being said, onto the review. Having unfortunately needed a number of windows replaced (ugh, Oakland. Ugh, Houston, ugh, Spokane) I always dread making the call to find out that replacing a single window will cost multiple hundreds of dollars and take half a day. Luckily, after getting quotes from 4 Auto Glass companies for replacing 2 smashed windows, Chantos was not only the friendliest, but also cheapest by almost $100! Other companies were charging additional for glass removal, but Chantos said it was included. He replaced the 2 windows and vacuumed up all the glass in under 90 minutes. He shared is sympathies with us for having the car broken into, mentioning that it had happened recently and it's always a hard thing to have happen. Really top notch, meticulous work at a good price. I literally have never been able to describe getting a window replaced as pleasant experience, but it was. I cannot recommend Chantos and 101 Auto Glass enough. I paid by card and threw him an extra $10 to help with the CC fees. Had a broken power window button on the driver side; I replaced the switch and still didn't work. Suspected broken regulator or motor and ordered the part. Repair was a bit more extensive than I thought and I called around to a few places who still wanted to charge a diagnostic fee -- called up Chantos on a whim after an overnight shift after calling around to a few places. He was able to squeeze me in the same day that and the price was more than reasonable. Amazed that he his business model was to drive out and meet me at my own place making things super convenient.
