the carpet don't match the drapes. let me explain. 1010 Midtown is a bit of a unicorn in that it's a gorgeous building of a common type in Midtown: glass and steel. the interiors are just breathtaking, truly, being situated right in the middle of the city--complete with spectacular, panoramic views in all directions. the pool area is wonderful, if a bit small, and the other common areas are neat as well. where 1010 falls short is the lobby. when you design a building with signature architecture from the street you want to be wowed upon walking in, and that's just not the case here. the lobby is small, the entry is clunky with 2 sets of doors, and there's not enough opulence in accordance with how objectively swanky some of the units are. if I lived there, I would push the association to renovate and make it a statement piece in the company of Loews Hotel. all in all, a signature building with room for improvement. read more

Firstly, I live at the Viewpoint so I am to some degree biased. That said, 1010 is at the center of the Atlanta "Miracle Mile". You know the mile that sometimes it feels like it will take a miracle to get up to snuff? Anyways, slow but steady (the Loews opens this month) Midtown is taking hold in Atlanta. 1010 has great open common areas, the gym is prime and the view over lower midtown from the pool is prime. This building recently dropped some of the their 1 bedrooms to below 190k, and two bedrooms under $300k, so that is a pretty good price for this level of quality. I have taken several clients here and have one purchase contract here. Anyways this is the "self proclaimed" center of the Midtown mile, and it is 2 blocks from the park. That is easily enough for four stars. Give it a few more years for the midtown mile to fill in and this is a 5 star residence dead in the center of it all. read more

I took a tour of this amazing condo building last week. I was surprised to see no reviews on Yelp! at all so I might as well tell you about my impressions. 1010 Midtown has probably the best location in midtown (between 11th and 12th on Peachtree). They're very close to Piedmont Park, all the bars and restaurants on Crescent, as well as all the bars and restaurants between 10th and the Fox Theatre. All within easy walking distance. Inside almost every place we went was super swank. The lobby is beautiful and on lock-down which is what I'd prefer. The gym is brand new and has great equipment (ipod hookups, TVs, etc.). The pool area is the best part of the building. It's up on a midlevel floor and has a southern view down Peachtree. Great views of all the skyscrapers. There are cabanas, a bar area, and a TV for partying in the summer. We checked out the club room, which is free to reserve for residents, and I was impressed. Full kitchen, a huge TV, and a cool outside area with a view down Peachtree. We saw a lot of condos, both 1 and 2 bedrooms. The amenities and build quality is very high. The kitchens and bathrooms are gorgeous! Floor to ceiling windows are the norm in all the places I had seen. Some of the bedrooms had this windows as well, which means you'll need to put up huge curtains to block out the street light and sun. Some of the facts you'll need to even consider living here: Prices: 1Br/1Ba Mostly between $250-300K and were about 800-900 sq ft. 2Ba/2Ba The cheapest one they currently have is $330K and they go well up over $400K starting at about 1100 sq ft I assume, but don't know, that HOA fees here are high. Probably between $400-600. A pool and full time concierge are expensive after all. They're currently at about 25% sold which makes me a little weary in this economy because who knows what they'll have to do to sell the rest of the units. Atlantic Station also started high and now prices are rock bottom. Those people that bought in early are probably kicking themselves. I don't think that will happen here because of the prime location, but who knows. The Loews hotel, office building, and convention center is across the street and when it opens will instantly make this area better as more restaurants will open, as well as some flagship stores. Currently there are no stores or restaurants in the Peachtree side of 1010 (except maybe Bank of America, but that's on the corner). This place is currently out of my budget for what I want (2BA/2BR), but if you have the money this place really is amazing. Great amenities, as well as close proximity to what I feel is the best part of Atlanta (that is only going to get better). The only downside is the price. Viewpoint has some 2BRs that start at $240K, which is the starting point here for 1BRs. I'm just not sure they can compete in a condo market that is super-saturated with units. Viewpoint, Spire, LUXE, and Metropolis are all in the area, and all aren't sold out or have lots of cheaper-than-1010 units for sale. read more

great building and restaurants but I would stay away if you need to park in the deck. I had a manager come to visit and we spent two hours at the sushi restaurant and then returned to the car parked in the deck for retailers. The car was booted and they were absolutely not interested in hearing that we just spent $200 at dinner with one of the restaurants in the building. We offered a receipt and questioned the reasoning for the boot. The deck is a pay parking deck and no signage indicates any potential reasons for booting. The reason they claimed was because the restaurant had already closed. When we demanded the boot be taken off of the car there were 7 security people ready to pounce. We called the cops but paid the $75 fee plus the parking charge to leave. Do not park in this building and I would encourage others that have had similar problems to speak out. I intend to let the restaurant know of the situation but as many times as I have frequented the shops at this place. It will most likely be my last. Complete lack of integrity!!! read more
