I've eaten broken rice dish and grilled meats and vermicelli noodle there. If I am in the area and in need of a yummy traditional supreme plate of broken rice with a huge prawn/lobster like, the old school cm tm Thanh Tho, in South Seattle. The price point is less than $15 for their most expensive plate. It is some what very affordable. No wait time is needed. It is a great place for family gathering. I really, really had a pho craving during COVID. This place was on the way from the errand I was running and hit the spot. I got it to-go and took it home to reheat the broth. The quality and cuts of the toppings were just OK, as was the broth. I thought the price of the pho was on the expensive side for where it was located. The return to 108, initiated by an "out of the blue" message from the one and only Alanna M, was a risky move seeing as she had different opinions on what I normally like. Taking that leap of faith and with her credibility on the line, I set on a journey to "no man's land" within hours of her recommendation. A visit many years ago, almost five to be exact, left a sour taste in my mouth & I vowed never to come back. It's ironic that this time, I ordered the sour tamarind soup (haha). Anyway, a whole new look & feel of the dining area - clean, open, bright and with a new crew. I browsed through the menu and saw many dishes I wanted to try but ended up with my usual favorites. The bad news: Goi Du Du Kho Bo - Papaya salad topped with beef jerky. I voiced my opinion to the owners about their version: the overall soggy taste could be blamed on thinness of the papaya cuts and adding to it was the unconventionally soft and sweet jerky. Nevertheless, I ate less than half of it. Banh khot: Improper techniques used. Batter poured heavy into the mold so interior not cooked through. Nem nuong: While juicy, it does not have much flavor. Bo luc lac: For some reason they used the wrong type of beef cut that day..so chewy and sinewy. Steamed rice - strange how the rice grains are larger than normal with yellowish tint. Tasted okay though but something to note. On the other hand: Ca Chien ($9.99) - Fried Fish with ginger sauce on the side. The container of hot chilis add a welcome kick to the sauce. Great choice so will order this again. A side note: Comes with slices of tomatoes and cucumbers. One thing that could be improved here is how they place the fish on the dish; the top's very crispy but the lettuce placed underneath causes a steaming effect thus softening up the bottom side. Canh Chua Tom ($12.95?) - Pricier than most places in Kent, I still went ahead with this. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how well made it was. It included okra, bamboo and basically all of the ingredients that make a tamarind soup what I should be. Plenty of shrimp in the mix also so kudos to the chef. 108 Restaurant is my Vietnamese "Food To Go" place, conveniently located close to Valley Medical and Great Wall Shopping Center. It has taken me a long time to write a review about this place, as I haven't taken pictures of food, not the best rendition when food is boxed. They are fast, efficient and reasonable, always answering any questions I may have, the owner has such a cheerful personally, you must stop by if you had a stressful day, have some pho, and relax before going home. Prices are on the higher side, on the other hand I have always been very pleased with the food. Oh and they deliver too (only for parties of 7 or more). Been trying to find a decent Pho restaurant in the Kent/Federal Way area for a while now and I have to say this one might be it for now. It was a slow day, no other customers were inside and we were seated immediately. The portions were just right and they give a decent amount of meat. The soup tasted authentic and I was very satisfied after I finished my bowl. Customer service was good but could've been better. The only thing that held me back from giving five stars was when the lady brought out the sauces including the chili oil, I noticed that the chili oil was nearly empty which I thought was inappropriate. So I asked her to give us a different one. She looked at me and then pointed at the jar which I did not like. But besides that, I will be returning one of these days to try it again. read more

Just came here because it was near by but this is the first Vietnamese place that serves a different type of free dessert then the cream puff, they serve a coconut jelly! Look like a lot of people were just there because there was a lot of empty dishes all on the tables, that was a great time to go during the week day. My husband and I shared a large combination pho. So many mixed reviews, but we went and tried it out fo dinner. Our party of four ordered pho soups, pork bahn mi, and I ordered bun bo hue. The soups were delicious and flavorful. The meat portions were plenty (yay!) and the ingredients seems fresh. The restaurant is quite hidden and located in a sketchy plaza--- but then again, most awesome food joint are located in sketchy areas! However, the restaurant was clean and inviting. Also, very kid friendly! The server was super nice and attentive as well. I wanted to take the time and praise the bahn mi sandwich. It was huge for $5! The fillings were stacked high, plus flavorful. And the bread... was on point. I've eaten so much bahn mi, that some bread were just wayyyy to hard. I mean, so hard that it'll cut the roof of my mouth! This bahn mi was almost perfect for my liking (wished there was more pâté in it though). Maybe I got lucky? This is more a 3.5 star rating, not quite yet 4. If you are lucky, you will walk in and be greeted by an older gentleman who I believe used to be a former baseball game announcer. Or a karaoke master. To say that he is enthusiastic about customer service is an understatement. This is also not meant, by any means, to be a personal jab. I do think it's worthwhile to note this because a defining characteristic of this restaurant is this gentleman and his tendency toward extreme lengthening of sounds, particularly vowels, in his speech. It made him more approachable, as well as it livened the restaurant up that was empty at the time. He gestured with his arm and told us in an animated manner, "Pick anyyy tableee!" So we frantically picked a table and looked at the menu that he handed to us. I chose the charbroiled chicken rice dish that came with a jumbo prawn, a side of salad, and two fried eggs on top. "Okayyy, gooooood," he said. After he took our orders, I forgot to mention a dietary restriction of mine. So I walked up to him and asked him if the jumbo prawn could be steamed instead of deep-fried if it were deep-fried. He responds to me with, "No problemmm! Okay. For you, anything. We do not deep-fry, okayyy, we steam and then stir-fry." I was caught between a rock and a hard place. Should I match his over-the-top demeanor in my own response? I told him my appreciation and walked back to my table. The food came out and I thought it was enough food to feed a horse. The charbroiled chicken was laid out on a very high pile of rice. I'm not kidding, it was like three filled handfuls of cooked rice scooped onto your plate. Two sunny-side up eggs was tossed on top of the chicken and the jumbo prawn. They give you generous portions for the salad, too, which contained huge slices of cucumber, salad mix, onions, and carrots. A very decent salad. The chicken breast had a great marinade and did not have the texture of a rubber band. The jumbo prawn had a weird breading/spice mixture that ended up clumping, for which I did not care to eat. I would say that was the only piece I did not like about my meal. It was also a little bit on the salty side. Overall, everything about my dish was above average. As I was eating, I noticed that the news on the small television to on the wall said that the weather was 55 degrees. No way, I thought, because I am still wearing a jacket as I am eating inside the restaurant. Then I noticed that the entire news channel was based in Massachusetts. That was the tipping point. I had to uncontrollably laugh because that's what I do when I am in an awkward place. I think that it's worthwhile to come here just for the experience. It's one-of-a-kind, for sure, and you get a decent meal while you're at it. There are other things to be aware of, which is why the place gets docked on stars. When it was time to pay, you walk up to the counter so he can calculate it. However, there was no bill for us. He calculated it in his head, which is fine if you get the calculations right, but the bill for a rice dish and a large bowl of pho came out to be $35.00. The meal was not $35.00, even if you wanted to tack on a tip to the correct bill. This concerns me a little. read more

Service is fast and friendly. The dining room is clean and comfortable. Good portion sizes at fair prices. But we have mixed feelings about the food. The veggies were very fresh and plentiful. Egg Rolls were good. The Com Tam Dac Biet looked beautiful but the flavors just weren't there, the fish sauce was lacking too. Bun Bo Hue came with all the fixings but again it was bland. Bun Rieu and Pho Dac Diet were ok. With so many good Vietnamese restaurants nearby, this would not be our first choice. But we may be back to try some of their other menu items. read more

I have been looking for a new regular Vietnamese restaurant since moving to Seattle several months ago and let me tell you why I have chose 108. First of all the service is always exceptional. I have been here with a party of 9 and even then the service was above average. The young lady who takes your order is both friendly, knowledgable and polite. I accidentally dropped something out of my pocket and she picked it up for me which was very nice. Sometimes the owner has taken my order and he is always very helpful and professional as well. What can i say except the service is great. My favorite appetizers from the menu are the fresh spring rolls. They are both tasty and beautiful. They actually have a good selection of greens in them and the pork is not just the typical thin piece of pork, it is grilled and with a great sauce on it. The balance of flavors works well. As far as the entrees go, my favorite is the grilled pork over rice vermicelli. A nice amount of pork grilled and not dry. The salad or greens they use are not the typical iceberg lettuce nonsense. They use a wonderful variety of Vietnamese greens that add both excellent flavor and color to the food. I really like this place and want to thank the owner for serving wonderful food and exceptional service. It's good to find a place I never am disappointed. The only bad thing is.... My favorite vietnamese restaurant up in NW!!!! I'm full vietnamese and have tried viet food from CA to TX from home made meals to catering meals, so my street cred is legit. The bun chai gio thit nuong dishes are my favorite, portions are HUGE. Comes with 3 eggrolls (most places give 1), and plenty of meat. Less than 2 hours ago, I made one of the best decisions, of the new year, to visit 108 for some greatly needed banh mi. $4.38 for a delicious banh mi is (quoting my cousin) BANGIN'. I surprisingly had to wait quite a while for it to come out. Around 10 minutes? (I'm used to my to-go orders of banh mi being very hurried - and I do not mind. There's a charm to it that I enjoy. I don't seek perfection in a banh mi because there is no need to. As long as cilantro, jalapeños, and the pickled radish and carrots are there, all banh mis are perfect in their own way.) Excusing my banh mi philosophy - My banh mi was nicely presented to me, and again, I was surprised with how warm it was. I started to feel tears forming because who toasts a banh mi to a temperature that warm? Someone who cares about the eater. And did I feel it when eating it? Yes, yes I did. I've never had a banh mi like this before. It had a hint of the smells at Great Wall (Ranch 99). Not a bad thing! But definitely unique. Aaaand this isn't a very good start to describing something delicious, but it left an impression on me because it tasted so different from what I'm used to. There was an even distribution of bread to fillings. The baguette was crispy and nicely toasted; not stale at all. The grilled pork was cut thinner than most places, but in a tasty way. Update: This restaurant now has new owners and they're just as nice as the old ones! The lady who works here is SO sweet and has a kind smile that's welcoming. She always remembers what we like to drink and that my daughter can't have peanuts. The rice vermicelli dishes are my favorite (especially the ones with egg rolls #37 #40) because the bed of lettuce is always crisp and fresh, the vermicelli is perfectly cooked (unlike some places that make it sticky/gooey), meat is seasoned with a slight charred flavor that I LOVE, and crispy egg rolls! I introduced my mom to this place and she always asks to eat here when she visits. The hard part about eating here is that I get so comfortable with certain dishes that it's hard to branch out but everything I've tried, I've liked. The fried rice has a nice mix of veggies and meat but you'll definitely need a to-go box and the Seafood Pho requires peeling shrimp but it's oh so worth it! I've been to this restaurant twice now. The first time, there was a strand of hair in my food. Gross, but not a game changer. The pho is broth is not good. Do not recommend getting pho here. The meat skewers are delicious though. Get the rice plate or vermicelli noodle salad bowl. The second and last time I'll be going there, I had two toddlers with me and ordered the chicken wings. I specifically said no spice. When the wings came out, they're topped with jalepenos! Seriously?! What part of no spice do they not get? I said nicely, "it's supposed to be not spicy for the kids" and the guy (same one who's always there) said "it's not spicy. It's just for decoration." I'm all about presentation, but if a customer is requesting specifically for something, you do just that. If you "top" off the wings with jalapenos, the part that touched the wings will taste a little bit of spice. If it's for me, no problem. But...it was for the kiddos! So of course, they brought it back to the kitchen and just scraped it off. It came back too fast. I know wings take 15+ minutes to fry. I could've scraped off the jalapenos myself if that's the case. Reason I didnt want it is because I wanted a new one, but...I decided to let the kids try it and guess what?! They complained it was spicy! Fucking retards.
