I'm usually a very loyal guy, and when it comes to my local barber that I had been going to for the past 10 years or so, I wasn't' sure if going to Tim was gonna sway me away. Then he blew my mind. The level of professionalism, add the extra attention to detail was superb. Tim (@juniorsparadise) gave me one of the freshest cuts I had, and he completely redefined my hairline and aligned it accordingly to my head shape. Is it a little more than other barbers? Perhaps. First off, if you needed a sign to book an appointment at 12 Pell then here it is! I was in NYC for my own destination wedding and was going to spend a substantial amount of time in NYC prior to the wedding. I wanted to make sure I had a fresh cut right before the big day but not sure if it made sense to cut before I flew into NYC.... so I took a leap of faith and booked an hair consultation with Tim literally the day before my wedding. And Man, did Tim deliver!! As soon as I entered the shop, I was immediately greeted by Peter/Tim and offered water. He knows exactly how to cut my hair to bring out the best of my thick, Asian hair by giving it modern and sophisticated look- the skin fade. They go above and beyond to maintain high standards. All patrons are required to wear masks at all times and have their temperature taken along with sanitizing their hands. The chairs are separated by dividers. All barbers wear masks and gloves at all times as well, which they change for each customer. In addition to disinfecting routinely with barbercide, they have installed a UV Sterilizer and humidifiers. You are also provided with a disposable cape during your cut. His barber was Larry, which he cannot stop complimenting. He took the time to make sure you were comfortable. Great attention to details and very meticulous in getting the hair cut you wanted. A haircut here may run you about $45, but definitely worth every penny when you get the freshest cut and best customer service. Fantastic barbershop! As an Asian American, it's tough finding a new barber (in a new city) who knows how to cut and style our hair. Tim was my barber but the entire crew makes you feel warm and welcome. It really felt like I was just hanging out with some old friends. I had planned to get a haircut before performing at Carnegie hall at a high school level Wind Ensemble. So I booked the day before my grand performce. Like many others I've found them from youtube (or tiktok). This was supposed to be my first getting a haircut from them so I booked for a consultation (Highly Recommended For First Time Clients) but I was not able to make the appointment on time as the group tour I was with was 3 hrs behind schedule, which on the iternary, it clearly said 12-6pm lunch and dinner on own on Friday. I was later charged for a no show fee. I was not informed that there would be a no-show fee when makings the appointment and the after fact that I was not able to decline and reschedule the appointment within 12hrs which was very frustrating as this was only popped up on the day of the appointment. So, lesson learned, make sure to matter what is to get your butt there on time and to be weary when making an appointment and make sure you have the whole day off! I'm just really mad that they didn't informed me before making an appointment and the lack of information when making an appointment from them. Ps. I would highly recommend getting the squire app as I didn't know that getting it was much more user-friendly for canceling/rescheduling the appointments. Maybe it's PTSD from childhood bowl cuts or obsessing over my perfectly placed spiky hair in high school but I got more Trust Issues than Drake on this matter. I've had an undercut since watching Brad Pitt in Fury (2014 if you're curious) and I was committed to keeping my hair that way until Franky suggested a fade and more blended cut.
