He was very friendly and was quick to recommend me trying all of the IPA's so I could have a better understanding of what I wanted. There was no pushiness at all which is very much appreciated because that is something that turns me off right away. He was patient and did not mind me trying the beers. I ordered the New England IPA (forget the name) but it was very good and fit the description perfectly. I also enjoyed watching the NBA finals they had playing on a couple of the flat screens. The place is very chill and dim lighting allow for a relaxing time to just sit back and enjoy a cool one. First time visiting. First impressions was a great staff, very friendly. It is an extremely small place and seems to be a hot spot for the for families.... A lot of kids. Very limited seating. It took my wife and I a good minute to find the place at night from the parking lot, but, after walking through the long building full of artisanal businesses, we finally found it and weren't disappointed. They have a creative list of original beers on tap. I'm not sure if the actual beers are original or if the descriptions ingeniously make each one sound unique, but it will make you will want to try each one to find out for yourself. Such a cool concept! 12 West is housed in the co-op Barnone building with several other small local businesses, and is literally "just" a brewery, meaning they do not serve food at all. The neighboring Fire & Brimstone pizza place is a great option, and I've heard you can also bring in outside food (have never done this myself though, so can't confirm). The beers themselves are always realllllly good and inventive. They had a strawberry vanilla triple IPA not too long ago that was to die for, and they always have some amazing nitro stout on tap also. The space is very low-key and has a great vibe also. Absolutely love the atmosphere here. Did not feel overly cramped or busy for a Saturday night. The outdoor seating is open and combined with a pizza place and a wine place right next door. Went on a Saturday night and there was live music outside. Tried a few of the IPA's and they were great. Since there's 4 kids, a few old people, and your in-law that's never happy you need somewhere accommodating. You decide on Joe's. Everyone loves Joe's. Your food is good but by the end of the meal you want to bury all of these people in Joe's farm under the kale. That's when you see it. About 200 yards west of where the kids are screaming and running around there's Barnone. You tell everyone you're going for a walk and discover XII West in this very cool structure. Along with woodworkers, machinists, a wine bar, and a pizza place sits the brewery. The space isn't big but there's plenty of room to spread out either indoors or out. You get a flight and try 6 5-oz pours including the excellent K-Lax IPA. You look at your phone and see 2 missed calls from your spouse while the bartender asks if you'd like a pint. Tranquility is on draft and chaos is beyond the entryway. "Head out without me" you text and "absolutely" you say. read more

Stopped by after playing Top Golf, as it was just around the corner. There was a small group of us (5) and we all tasted different beers. I had the K-LAX IPA and I must say it was pretty nice. Other beers that flowed were the 'SUH DUDE, CHILL-LAX WITH CHERRIES, MIJO (which got the thumbs down from us all - not a flavorful beer - just was missing something), BLAP! BLAP! and another I can't remember. Overall, this is a great place to stop by have a different experience. The beers are good, the waitresses are really nice and I wish the pizza place opposite (in the communal area) was open beyond 10pm.. Pizza and beer is always a good mix.. read more

We held our sons rehearsal dinner at 22 West and everyone was amazing! From the first time when we met Matt and had a tour of the restaurant to paying the bill the night of the event we were completely impressed. We met with Matt to look at the possible rooms to hold our event. He was so patient in answering every question we had and letting us know options for sound. The restaurant has a cool vibe. There is an underground area we could use for the dinner or an outdoor mezzanine which is where we chose to do the dinner. We went two times before the event to have dinner and try the food. The food was so yummy both times we went and I had high hopes for the event! The day of the event we met Sean who was the manager on duty that day. He was so helpful and so very nice and patient as I asked more questions about the evening and trying to figure out last minute details. The food was served buffet style and once again the food was amazing! Their Chef certainly deserves kudos for doing a catering menu and a restaurant menu and doing a fabulous job! Every one at 12 West was so professional, helpful and so kind! If I have another event to do I would most definitely go back to 12 West! The beer is phenomenal! This is one of a very few breweries that I have been too and ordered a flight and really enjoyed all of them. Honestly I don't believe I have had a bad beer at all this evening. The service is top notch and pizza is right across from the brewery. Best of both worlds! Ok, off for Good Friday so Alley is making the most of her time off by hitting the local craft brew scene. Brian was the first to greet us. He was awesome and brought Alley a fresh bowl of water, which was perfect because she left the house in such a rush she left her bowl at home. The beer selection is good and we got a flight of 6. The alcohol content is high compared other local breweries but Brian's awesome care of Alley earned the establishment that extra star which pushed it to 5. I always want to point out we walked in (ok Alley ran in) at 30 minutes before closing and were treated like we came in with hours to spare. She again is chilling on the patio but that's by choice. All the patrons are cool with her and she is enjoying her staycation. The average alcohol content of their beer is 7 with some going as high as 10.4. Considering the alcohol content the beers were suprisingly smooth. The growler prices from $13-$20, which seems like a great value to us. The decor is unique as is the entire center. If in the Phoenix area this craft breweries is worth the drive. read more

Came here with some friends after being recommended. We ordered a beer each and were having a good time. Ordered two pizzas at the place next door and had 3 waters while we waited for the pizzas. Once the pizzas arrived we asked the waiter for three more beers and he said we couldn't have any more beer! He told us the manager said not to serve us any more beer! Thought he was joking we ate some pizza and asked him where the beers we ordered were.. he again said we couldnt have any more beer. I asked him why and he said he was just doing what he was told, he couldn't independently say why. Background: prior to coming here we were at Arizona wilderness. I had two beers and my friends had a flight each. We took a Lyft to 12 West and planned to go to another local bar afterward. We found out this is not a place to have a good time, apparently if you want to very quietly have 1 beer this is the place for you. If you want to have more fun than what's allowed here I would suggest a library or a poetry reading. Very disappointed. I live near here and will not come back. I would recommend arizona wilderness, very friendly staff (Arizona ave/Guadalupe) and great food. Try the peanut butter and jelly burger at Arizona wilderness, it's amazing! read more

He was not disappointed. He wanted a stout so he got his stout in a 32 ounce Crowler to go. We took it on our way to a tourist attraction and he ended up liking it so much that we had to stop by on our way back to my place. A good selection of beer covering most of the more popular styles and quite a few more that are a little more obscure for those who don't consider themselves to be a "beer nerd". Ordering a flight, you are able to pick 6(?) beers of your choosing from their menu and the pours are pretty nice I might add. Delicious Craft Beer- Mijo a Triple IPA my absolutely fav by far that they brew, Imperial Space Force a Double IPA and Frontside a West Coast IPA are MY go to's. It kinda seems lately they have been catering to the non "craft beer" drinkers. Please don't forget about us!! Day time durning the week is your best bet, weekend is pretty much stand where you can. The crowd doesn't have the friendly feels but oh well. Parking is bad but who cares you'll find your way. No eats except on Sunday afternoons you can catch some catering but no worries plenty of food all around the area or bring your own. Staff-never had a bad experience, ever!!!! What a great place! It's inside of a Quonset hut in Gilbert. Their beer is phenomenal. The K-Lax is a fruity IPA without too much bitter. My favorite was the Sunday Morning Saison. Cute little craft brewery that just opened inside of the new Quonset Hut building at Agritopia that houses a few other micro businesses. The music was an agreeable, mellow mix of Dirty Heads and Sublime, the prices were fair, the service was fast and friendly, and they offered board games for the patrons; we played Uno. You can bring food in from other businesses since they don't serve food, but, and this is a big important BUT you can't walk across the 4' hallway from the brewery and go into the next door pizza place with a glass of beer. One of us discovered that the hard way. Although you can bring a pizza into the brewery from 4' away. (Alcohol laws are funny things, folks.) So my boyfriend said he really liked his IPA, but his best friend didn't much care for the first beer he ordered which was described to him as being made with the leftovers from other beers and thusly like the "meatloaf" of their selection. (Odd way to sell your product.) He drank it, because he's no quitter, and then he changed out to a different beer and was very satisfied with his second choice so all was well. My only possible suggestion is to please offer something other than still water for the patrons that don't drink beer: tea, lemonade, bottled sodas, something. Otherwise, you guys are doing really well and we will absolutely be back. read more

Love the Frontside IPA and the Midnight Run Coffee Stout. Awesome keg lighting and great bar area to lean on. Just need to get some shade up on that patio and you are all set. My fiancé and I were visiting family in the area and tried 12 West at the Mesa Brew Fest. Loved the Frontside IPA, so had to come try the selection at the brewery. The setting was really cool, looks like an old airplane hanger with other small businesses inside as well. The only gentleman working greeted us fairly quick once we sat down. I did a flight, which has 6 samplers, everything I tried was good! The Frontside IPA was still my favorite, followed by the Suh Dude. I know it was a Monday, which is probably why there was only one bartender working, but when it picked up it took a while and we had to go up to the bar to ask for the tab, when we had been ready for about 10-15 mins. Overall experience was great and the beer was even better! Will definitely come back again and recommend to anyone visiting the area! read more
