Wonderful organic sourdough bakery and cafe. Not only do they sell great drinks, bread, and sandwiches/snacks, but they also sell a variety of great organic products, and everything is organic and done with care for the planet and your health. The ambiance is wonderful - open, spacious, welcoming, warm and high class. They said they actually mill their own flour which is amazing. I had samples of their bread and also got sourdough egg tart and waffle. You can taste the quality of the sourdough. The egg tart has the wonderful chewiness of sourdough as the crust but the custard is done well too. The waffle has the same great texture and flavour of the sourdough and the maple sweetness is also done very well. Definitely recommend a stop by.

It was my first time doing a matcha workshop and I enjoyed my experience here at 123Dough Organic Cafe in downtown. The experience consisted of a guided tutorial on how to whisk & make your own authentic matcha. We got the black matcha powder to try out and a full set of tools to make your matcha. A scoop of icecream came at the end so we could make an affacado drink :)) Beyond the workshop itself, the cafe overall is really spacious with plenty of seats & tables. Nice atmosphere for tea talk and studying maybe. I would definitely come here again whenever I'm in Yaletown as I do love to support independent businesses over large franchises

Thank you, Ethan, for reading my review and inviting me back. And thank you, Daniel, for such a thoughtful explanation of the matcha's origins and the café's vision; it's clear that you genuinely care about the quality of what you serve. I tried both the green matcha and black matcha today. Both teas were rich and full with bold flavours. The green matcha had a stronger bitterness than the ones I usually drink, thanks to its unique preparation process. The black matcha offered a contrasting profile--herbal, earthy, and even a little chocolatey. I also tried the maple waffle. The texture was on the denser side and it was covered with the most amazing (and not too sweet) maple glaze. The cafe also offers monthly workshops and events!

I came here for a matcha workshop and it was such a fun experience! I don't know many places in Vancouver that do this, but what really stood out was being able to try black matcha. It has a completely different flavor profile from green matcha and Julia, who was hosting the workshop did a great job at explaining everything. We were able to try a green matcha latte, green matcha affogato, and iced black matcha. The interior of the cafe is well designed and looks super cozy and cute! The entire team at 123Dough is also some of the sweetest people I know.

Spacious cafe. I tried the frosted black matcha and thought it was a tad on the sweeter side but overall enjoyable. Staff was friendly.

This placed opened 14 June. Spring opening for organic food in no other than hippy Yaletown. There's specials for opening week. 50% off açai bowls or smoothies. The owner mentioned that there is another store in NY and they're co-owned by another restaurant that does afternoon tea - Wild Orchard/ 8 Corners Tearoom. As you walk in, the place is airy with lots of space. Açai bowls are delicious and hearty.

We came here for the tea omakase. It was quite a unique and fun experience! We tasted 4 different types of teas and the accompanying snacks and pastries. I loved the variety of the tea flavours. Each tasted so fresh and delicate. Each little snack also tasted very fresh and made with good quality ingredients. Overall, I feel this cafe serves high quality tea and food. All made fresh, not stale like big chain coffee shops. The cafe's ambiance is modern and chill. Prices are quite reasonable for Yaletown. The staff are friendly and low key.

i'll admit, i was impressed when the owner personally replied and offered to make things right, mentioning they'd made some updates to their drinks. they absolutely didn't have to; most places might offer a polite apology, if anything. but instead, they reached out with genuine care, and it made me feel like my feedback mattered. i won't lie, i debated whether to take them up on their offer, it felt a little awkward to bring it up in person, but i'm glad i did. they explained that they used to make their own oat milk from scratch and that everything here is done organically. they explained that were probably out of oat milk when i was there three months ago and re made it again. they're currently sourcing premium oat milk. in addition, i was also offered a sourdough cookie, a thoughtful gesture that showed just how far they were willing to go to stand behind their products and make me feel welcomed back. that kind of professionalism and service is rare, and it genuinely sets them apart from so many other cafés that never go beyond lip service. this time, the matcha was properly whisked, no gritty residue at the bottom or sides and the drink had a much smoother finish. that said, the matcha itself was still a bit weak in flavour. the orange confit earl grey cookie was a little too sweet and dense for my taste, but the effort and care that went into it were clear. the space remains beautiful, calm, and polished, but what really stood out this time was the commitment to customer service. when a business not only listens but responds with sincerity, it elevates the entire experience.

They were showing each other the flavors, and shapes, and designs. Sweet plus savory. Cutting them in half and sharing. It was the least we could do to bring these high quality goodies, made by high quality bakers, to these high quality nurses in the cardiac unit for my mother-in-law. We were so impressed with the staff at L'atelier. They know their stuff and their recommendations are top notch. The bakery itself is so cute and modern and fun. I loved that you could sit outside even in the rain because they have stellar permanent awnings.

Unfortunately, this one was a bit disappointing. The interior was overly moist, the caramelized crust lacked the crispness I was hoping for, and the honeycomb structure wasn't very well developed. Overall, it was just average. We also ordered the Strawberry Pistachio Tart. The strawberries were fresh with a nice balance of sweetness, and there was a good amount of pistachio chunks. However, it lacked the layers of flavor that make a tart memorable. On the bright side, the coffee was excellent and easily my favorite part of the visit. I'd happily come back for a coffee, but I'd probably try different pastries next time.

It was a huge hit with everyone! The 6 inch cake was $69 and I added a customized birthday message on chocolate for an extra $3 which was a nice personal touch. They also offer a gluten free option for an additional $10 which is great for accommodating different dietary needs. One thing to keep in mind is that you'll want to order online well in advance because their cakes sell out quickly. I can definitely see why. They're fantastic! I'll be ordering from Gary's Patisserie again for future celebrations.

Have seen Gary's fresh mango cakes all over IG and with my Dad's recent birthday I convinced my…read moresister to order one, instead of our usual mango cake from Saint Germaine bakery. Gary's only allows to order the fresh mango cakes up to one week ahead to ensure they have enough ripe mangos, which I admire their dedication. We ordered the 6 inch cake for 9 people (7 adults and 2 kids) and everyone got a thin to average slice. The cake is definitely prettier than the other fresh mango cakes on the market, has a lot more mangos that are perfectly ripe and sweet, there is less wipped cream, and the sponge cake is softer. The family agreed that Gary's has the best fresh mango cake but at $69 for a 6 inch cake, versus $43 for a 6 inch mango cake from Saint Germaine, a cake from Gary's is definitely a treat and for special occasions. Is Gary's worth the premium price? I think so but not everyone in my family agreed. One thing to note: Gary's do offer cake in a jar that's $8.50 each. When we went, they had a BOGO deal with the mango cake jars. My nephew asked my sister to buy the BOGO deal knowing that the 6 inch cake was not going to be enough, as the kids like having a second slice of cake.
