I went to storehouse NYC yesterday on a first date it was a great sports bar to catch a game. I caught the Michigan college football game. The service was friendly and pretty quick. I went around 6:30 pm we had a beer each and then ordered chicken wings and quesadillas to share. We went at a great time because I was able to hear him well and have a solid conversation without the background noise of the restaurant conversations being too loud. 10/10 sports bar recommendation. read more

Great experience here getting cold beer, ice-cold water, a hot juicy burger and much-needed time off our feet. Staff either talk to you or don't, your choice really, which makes for a fantastic experience based on whatever mood you're in. This sports bar is located right next door to a 2 Bros Pizza. From the outside, it looks like an old dive bar but that was not the case at all. It is actually a very clean and modern sports bar. It seems like it was renovated not that long ago. They could use more more TVs though. There are only 4 TVs on the smaller side for watching sports. Everything else was great though. The food is typical bar food with some Irish pub choices (fish and chips, chicken pot pie) but done well. The burger in particular was very juicy. Plenty of tables. Bars on both sides of a fairly large space. Flat screen TVs up and down both sides, with 2 larger projections at each end. Guy running the place struggled to find the Mets game. Wasn't on SNY. We told him it was PIX 11. Told us they didn't get that station. Minor struggle when we insisted that their DirecTV would have. A few moments later, he got it on. Sports bar in Manhattan should know how to get the local games on. Wasn't streaming on Roku or some nonsense. It was on local TV. Mind-boggling. Didn't try any of the food. They didn't have the brand of beer or hard liquor we wanted (Modelo and Belvedere vodka) but we settled on Stella Artois and Grey Goose. It was a little noisy at first. This is the first time I've actually felt so inspired that I am writing my review while I am still sitting at my table, but not for all the wrong reasons. This place had the makings for a four or five-ish star review. But that was more than an hour ago, and a lot has (not) happened in an hour. I preface this by saying that the bar area is very busy, and the dining area where I am seated (5 feet away) is relatively not busy with barely five tables seated, two of which were here when I arrived ad are pretty much just women who are drinking and long done with their food. And, they only have one server on. But when I got here, it took 10 minutes before the waiter came to me, which wouldn't have been as annoying had the manager not been just standing there watching everything. He did manage to get a bottle of water for me when I had finished off the first bottle that I was given by the host when I got seated, which tells you how long I sat there with no one coming over. Oh, and the manager said not a word. Not welcome. Not your server will be here in a minute. Nothing. The waiter, who clearly seemed overwhelmed, finally came over and took my order. That would be the last time I saw him until an hour later. Well, actually that's not true. He was active with the table to my right and to my left (as was the manager) because they were drinking alcohol. I guess since I wasn't, I didn't rank as worth attending to, even once to ask how things were because had they asked they'd know that the salad I got was so drenched in dressing that it was vile and disgusting and I could even eat it. So, I'm stuck paying for a salad I couldn't eat because it was rancid. I absolutely hate with a passion when servers (and managers) only give service to the tables who drink. I'm married to a server. I know that often, guys like me tip much better (in the 30% range) when we get good service. This is INEXCUSABLE. And as I'm writing this, the manager sat and attended a couple who got seated, right away. This is beyond outrageous, and makes this meal now just a terrible experience. I came here because I was craving a burger and wanted to work a bit. What I got was a good burger that I was all excited to review which I couldn't enjoy because I was so distracted by the lack of service I was getting. As a result, it ended up being an unpleasant experience. I thought I found a new place to come to. Instead I've now got a new one to avoid.m (Side note: I decided to ask the manager to tahr the salad off the check and he did without any issue. And I did leave 30% because I'm still that kind of guy.) read more

Flew in around midnight and this was the only bar around with an open kitchen. Really grateful for that. Had the Reuben sandwich. Came with a serving of fries. Overall delicious. Not a huge fan of the bun, toasted rye slices are generally better in flavor and texture. Meat and good and plentiful. Fries perfectly seasoned. Just the right amount of pickled vegetables. Beer selection okay. Whiskey selection and bartender far above average. Had the special Laphroaig scotch, McCallen 10 and plenty of engaging conversation about the state of the bourbon industry. JJ Kinahan's has a huge open space with 2 floors, mega TV screens and a lively atmosphere. It's a great spot for after work HH or to watch a game. Let's talk about the JJ Burger, it's absolutely phenomenal - we're talking delicious beef, caramelized onions, perfectly melted cheese and we got the truffle fries are an added bonus.
