Always a solid choice, though it could have been a bit colder. The bartenders were very nice and attentive, and the place clearly has a strong group of regulars. There was a friendly, familiar energy in the room that made it feel welcoming right away. Once my friend arrived, I tried "The Greatest Espresso Martini" and asked to swap the vodka for bourbon. They were very accommodating, and the drink turned out delicious. Rich, smooth, and good enough that I ordered a second. My friends and I came for brunch last weekend and were sorely disappointed. We were seated right away, and all decided to get the afternoon tea. Unfortunately, our server only heard that 5 of us wanted afternoon tea, and one of the tiers of food was smaller than the others. We also had to pay extra for additional tea, which we were fine with, but service was severely lacking throughout. Our server didn't check up on us, and seemed to want us to leave quickly after dropping off the check. We would have been happy to pay the $65 each for afternoon tea, but it wasn't worth it and frankly, I was agitated by the whole ordeal by the time I left. We were also disappointed by the food items (as they were lacking) and nothing about this was like other experiences we had with other afternoon teas. Hello, I recently visited Lillie's Victorian in Union Square on 3/7/26 for a 5:45 PM reservation with my husband to celebrate my birthday after hearing so many wonderful things about the restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Our waiter, Nicolas L., was largely inattentive throughout the meal. When ordering, we had to repeat our order twice because it did not seem to be acknowledged the first time. Additionally, when it was my husband's turn to order, Nicolas did not acknowledge him and instead stood looking down or appeared focused on other tables nearby while we were speaking, which made the interaction uncomfortable. I ordered the strip steak, which unfortunately arrived undercooked and extremely fatty. Our waiter did not return to check on our table, and by the time we finally saw him again, well after we had finished eating, I was too frustrated to send the meal back. We went nearly 30 minutes without a check-in. Since we ordered from the prix fixe menu, I had hoped dessert might help salvage the evening. However, even ordering cocktails required flagging the waiter down because he was not checking on our table. Throughout the evening we spent a significant amount of time simply waiting or trying to get his attention. I understand that delays can happen when a restaurant is busy, but that did not appear to be the case during our visit. I even took photos of the dining room that evening showing the level of activity. When we finally paid and tapped our card, Nicolas asked how everything was. We kindly explained the issues we had experienced, but no effort was made to address the situation or offer any kind of remedy. At that point I was honestly so deflated and exhausted from the experience that I did not feel up to seeking out a manager. He mentioned that he had been working the front and that his partner had just returned. However, during the evening we did see him socializing with coworkers multiple times while we were waiting for service. This was meant to be a special birthday dinner, and I'm saddened that the experience fell so far short of expectations. Lillie's has such a beautiful atmosphere and strong online presence, which is what originally drew me in. I only wish that the same care reflected in the restaurant's presentation and social media extended to the food and customer service. We got a reservation for a large party with ease and we all had the bottomless brunch, which included your choice of mimosas, Bellinis, Bloody Marys, and maybe a few more. We went to the Union Square location during Christmas, and this place is absolutely worth visiting for the holiday ambiance alone. They decorate beautifully and feel just as festive as other well known Christmas spots in NYC, but without charging an entrance fee. It was a really charming setting for a holiday meal. Reservations do seem to be required, but they were not difficult to get. We discovered this place on our last full day in New York and I was still able to snag a brunch reservation the morning of without any issues. The food was fine, which honestly felt expected since you are clearly paying for the atmosphere. I ordered the Caesar salad, and it tasted like a very standard Caesar you might get at a chain restaurant. Nothing exciting, but not bad either. My mom ordered the avocado toast and it was surprisingly generous. It was a massive piece of toast topped with an egg and came with a side of fries, which made it feel like a really good value for the price. She enjoyed it a lot more than we expected. The staff was attentive and the overall experience was pleasant. I think this is probably an especially fun place to visit for drinks, particularly around the holidays. If we had planned ahead more or if my mom drank, I probably would have stopped in just for cocktails. Wow. Every time I come here the drinks are great and the decor is over the top. As a Halloween buff, I basically lived here in October. they had a green Halloween drink. I also enjoy coming during Christmas time. The food is also good and fresh. The staff is amazing. They will let you come in just to take photos and sometimes if you're standing at the bar and not opting for table service, they let you cut the (sometimes massive) lines. Finally got myself to Lillie's. Been wanting to for a while! First thing first. Make sure you reserve a spot. We got there on a Saturday approximately 2pm and it was pure chaos. There was an issue with our reservation but we got it sorted, thankfully. The place literally looks like Christmas exploded. It was fun! Loved the decor. Would like to see how it's done for all other holidays/seasons. There were no complaints from anyone in our party of 8. I got a salad and it was probably one of the greatest salads I've ever had. I ate everything right down to my last blue cheese crumble. So good. The Winter Sangria was delightful. Full of delicious tropical flavor. Probably one of the best white sangrias I have ever had. Definitely give it a try. My only gripe is that the place is super packed. Very chaotic and almost anxiety inducing. Table on top of tables while patrons hang at the bar causing major traffic blockages. If that is my only gripe, I suppose I should come back during a weekday/off peak hours. I love how festive Lillie's gets for major holidays. It's super decked out with Christmas decor all over the walls, pieces hanging from the ceiling, moving decor, the works. They were booked until Jan 5th so I decided to walk in early evening on Monday. The hostess told me to come back in 30 minutes. My bf and I browsed the Union Square holiday market then came back and hostess said we can hang out by the bar. It was tough figuring out a good place to be. Eventually we found a seat at the bar but my bf stood the entire time. It was so packed the servers had to ask patrons to create a path for them. There had two drinks on their holiday drink menu. We ordered one, I forget the name- something about jingle bells I think. They toasted a marshmallow in front of us and set it on top of a chocolate wafer. The drink was okay but the marshmallow was delicious haha. They have two old fashions on their menu: smoked cedar and smoked cinnamon. I couldn't decide between the two but we ended up deciding on cinnamon. Not long after, I overhead the gentleman next to us tell his friends that the cedar smoked one is great and he always gets it so I ordered it too. My bf and I both like the cinnamon one more, it's a little sweeter than the cedar one but both are good! Would order again if I came back. Our bartender was pleasant despite how crazy busy it was. It took her awhile to get to us but she was composed through my entire interaction with her. Tip your bartenders more when it's crazy busy! It was a lovely time even though it was really crowded. It was a busy night and a private event when my friend and I got there. The bouncer told us to come back in an hour, so we went to another place then came back. We were so lucky to get a table and enjoy wonderful drinks and foods. We loved Classic Caeser Salad: crunchy Half Heart Of Romaine Lettuce with lots of cheese. Wishing we didn't eat from another place before so we could order more food here. Even it was super crowded, but service was still very good. We talked to different people make more friends. Overall the experience was really good. This location is a bit smaller than the Times Square locale but it was just as festive. There were issues with the kitchen, staffing, and several dishes were sold out, including dessert. That definitely put a damper on the experience because it was some of the most popular dishes. A great place to come for drinks! I would recommend making a reservation, however there is a lot of bar seating available. I got there at 5pm and wanted a table for 2 and didn't have to wait but by 5:30 the place got super busy. My friend and I came for happy hour which is Monday-Friday from 2-6pm and 10pm-close. The cocktails are $10, wine is $8 and beer is $7 during this time. I got the Lillian Bland and it was not at all sweet, it was perfect! I highly recommend it & it was really pretty. My friend got the Helena Molonia and said it's definitely got a kick to it being that it's on the spicier side but enjoyed her drink a lot.
