    Christmas Decor
    Beth A.

We went to the Union Square location during Christmas, and this place is absolutely worth visiting for the holiday ambiance alone. They decorate beautifully and feel just as festive as other well known Christmas spots in NYC, but without charging an entrance fee. It was a really charming setting for a holiday meal. Reservations do seem to be required, but they were not difficult to get. We discovered this place on our last full day in New York and I was still able to snag a brunch reservation the morning of without any issues. The food was fine, which honestly felt expected since you are clearly paying for the atmosphere. I ordered the Caesar salad, and it tasted like a very standard Caesar you might get at a chain restaurant. Nothing exciting, but not bad either. My mom ordered the avocado toast and it was surprisingly generous. It was a massive piece of toast topped with an egg and came with a side of fries, which made it feel like a really good value for the price. She enjoyed it a lot more than we expected. The staff was attentive and the overall experience was pleasant. I think this is probably an especially fun place to visit for drinks, particularly around the holidays. If we had planned ahead more or if my mom drank, I probably would have stopped in just for cocktails. I would recommend Lillie's if you want a festive, beautifully decorated spot with solid food and an easy reservation process, especially during Christmas season.

We went at lunch and the kitchen was unable to serve anything but salads and charcuterie boards-which would have been ok if the fruit in the board weren't moldy. The place smelled and looked dirty. The drinks were very good. Maybe go for drinks and avoid the food.

omg this is such a fun place! It's like christmas threw up inside but im the best way possible. As soon as you step in, it feels magical. The staff are very kind and willing to chat. The food was pretty average, but the whole atmosphere is why you go to Lillie's! For two meals, it was $50 which is very reasonable for NYC. Reservations are highly recommended and to make them as soon as possible. The bar is first come first serve.

I haven't eaten here, but I've had drinks a couple of times and they were all good. Sitting at the bar is a fun time. But there are also lots of tables to have a more intimate experience. The charming decor feels authentically 19th century. The bartenders are friendly.

Drinks weren't the best but the festive decorations make it worth the trips. If you plan on going during the holidays, be prepared to stand in line to get in. Bar seats are not guaranteed but if you time it right with someone about it leave, you're in it! The bartenders are super knowledgeable and the security is actually very friendly folks. It's the season! Check out the Christmas ambiance for yourself to get in the spirit!

There are view bars that go as all out for Christmas as Lillies. Every inch is covered with a decoration. It is fun; it is festive. The Santa Sangria was very good and the bartenders added some rosemary which was a nice twist. Service is friendly and efficient. The place can get very crowded so I recommend you go early. And for sure this place will put you in the holiday spirit. Five stars for the decorations.

Yummy food and great mocktails. We had the sliders, Shepard pie and gnocchi, all good. The place was packed and took some time for service but the server was very nice and professional. Very festive with great holiday decorations. Not such a big place so it's conducive to speaking over the noise.

Amazing vibe from the moment you walk in the door . The hostess is so welcoming . We went to see the Xmas decor and it is simply beautiful , they also have some great holiday cocktails for sure . great atmosphere and some great people at the bar as well . We I'll have to go back at some point to try the food .

Came during the holidays for the holiday vibes it's like Christmas threw up everywhere and I mean that in the best way. Brunch was good and not insanely expensive. Menu is small and service was lacking but not the servers fault just a bit understaffed and I don't fault the establishment maybe someone called out. They were absolutely slammed.

Wow. Every time I come here the drinks are great and the decor is over the top. As a Halloween buff, I basically lived here in October. they had a green Halloween drink. I also enjoy coming during Christmas time. The food is also good and fresh. The staff is amazing. They will let you come in just to take photos and sometimes if you're standing at the bar and not opting for table service, they let you cut the (sometimes massive) lines. I recommend the jasmine pearl tea pot. The cups are gorgeous.

Had high hopes but unfortunately was disappointed. The Christmas decorations were nice, but a bit way too much and felt like a Christmas vomit. The holiday drinks were also not great at all. The very artificial colors of The Grinch drink made it look not appetizing. Service was also subpar. We had to asked for regular water 3 times before we were brought any.

Definitely come during their holidays like Halloween when they transform into a clown nightmare! Loved all the inch to inch decor or dolls and clowns! Sat at hr abr and the libations did not disappoint. Food was also delish!

Hello, I recently visited Lillie's Victorian in Union Square on 3/7/26 for a 5:45 PM reservation with my husband to celebrate my birthday after hearing so many wonderful things about the restaurant. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Our waiter, Nicolas L., was largely inattentive throughout the meal. When ordering, we had to repeat our order twice because it did not seem to be acknowledged the first time. Additionally, when it was my husband's turn to order, Nicolas did not acknowledge him and instead stood looking down or appeared focused on other tables nearby while we were speaking, which made the interaction uncomfortable. I ordered the strip steak, which unfortunately arrived undercooked and extremely fatty. Our waiter did not return to check on our table, and by the time we finally saw him again, well after we had finished eating, I was too frustrated to send the meal back. We went nearly 30 minutes without a check-in. Since we ordered from the prix fixe menu, I had hoped dessert might help salvage the evening. However, even ordering cocktails required flagging the waiter down because he was not checking on our table. Throughout the evening we spent a significant amount of time simply waiting or trying to get his attention. I understand that delays can happen when a restaurant is busy, but that did not appear to be the case during our visit. I even took photos of the dining room that evening showing the level of activity. When we finally paid and tapped our card, Nicolas asked how everything was. We kindly explained the issues we had experienced, but no effort was made to address the situation or offer any kind of remedy. At that point I was honestly so deflated and exhausted from the experience that I did not feel up to seeking out a manager. He mentioned that he had been working the front and that his partner had just returned. However, during the evening we did see him socializing with coworkers multiple times while we were waiting for service. This was meant to be a special birthday dinner, and I'm saddened that the experience fell so far short of expectations. Lillie's has such a beautiful atmosphere and strong online presence, which is what originally drew me in. I only wish that the same care reflected in the restaurant's presentation and social media extended to the food and customer service. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as I would have loved for this to be a place I could return to and recommend. Sincerely, Brittney Galindez

It's a very small, but cozy restaurant, and one could tell that those that own it care about the space and how well organized, clean, and put together it is. Now for the most important part: the food! The fish n' chips are deliciously superb. The cod tasted fresh. The batter was light, crispy, and spiced well. What was noteworthy was the tartar sauce. It has a unique tang to it that made the fish n' chips refreshing despite the fact that it's deep-fried. Maybe it was a usage of lime and celery? The chips were nice and crispy, but you could definitely taste the potato still. I ate the whole plate. A pleasant experience. I made a reservation for a Monday evening around 8pm. Even at this time, reservations were scarce. It's not a very large restaurant so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. I ordered the Sourdough Bread & Butter, and the Squid & Scallion Skewers to start. The bread was crispy and tasty; a solid sourdough, but wasn't anything overly unique. The skewers were herbaceous and light. The green sauce was super flavorful - especially when dipped into by that sourdough. For my main I ordered the Fish & Chips (of course). Were they extremely good? YES. Were they the best Fish & Chips I've ever eaten? No, however this accolade belongs to an actual Chippy I ate at in the UK. As far as 'restaurant' Fish & Chips go however - these are the probably the best I've eaten. The fish was expertly fried and super crispy. The chips were thick cut and well-salted. My only complaint is there wasn't more of them. An extra handful of chips and you wouldn't see the bottom of the plate in photos - just sayin! For dessert I got the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Now this WAS the best Sticky Toffee Pudding I've ever had. Extremely flavorful. Extremely sweet. Would be perfect for two to share. As a solo diner, it was pushing my sweet tooth to eat the entire thing. But naturally, I did. The service was great. Super personable and attentive. I was seated at the counter overlooking the kitchen. Watching the chefs prepare every dish was fascinating and entertaining to watch. Definitely recommend this place!
