First visit to this 131 Main location, but same great service and great food that I found at the other location. Party of 2 was seated immediately upon arriving and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Deinks were excellent. Great experience, will be back.

Came here for dinner on a friday night. Had about a 40 minute wait without a reservation but that was expected. Once seated, our waiter was very nice and gave us a run down of the specials of the day. The menu had a little bit of everything. My family and i all enjoyed our meals. It was a little pricey, but it was a really nice spot for a dinner.

Dinner - excellent as ALWAYS! Service is consistently stellar. Crab cakes are THE BEST you will find anywhere. "Nothin but crabmeat" and a side of deviled eggs. Ribeye and peanut coleslaw is a favorite. Shrimp cocktail can't go wrong!!

Can I rate a place 4.5 stars? 131 was a great experience overall, but it wasn't until I got the check that I got a bit of disappointment- a bit of deception that makes me hesitant to return. And it's not the ambience. The place is beautiful on the inside. It seems wildly popular. Nice, cozy, intimate. A great place to take a date. Perhaps. And it's not the service. The wait staff did a great job with its duties - from describing the items on the menu to keeping up with refills to clearing empty plates. And it's not the food. The rainbow trout I ordered was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I don't know if I've ever eaten a better fish entree. So what then was the problem? One small deception. Not wanting the kale salad that the menu mentions as the side for the entree, I asked if I could substitute another side for it. "Absolutely!" my waiter responded confidently. All was good in the world at that point, right? Then the check arrived and I discovered I was being charged $2 extra for subbing the side dish. The waiter never mentioned it. The menu didn't mention an upcharge for making a substitute. Nothing. Anyhoo, I paid it. Everything else was top notch. However, trust is an important thing for me. And even in this seemingly small issue, I would have pause before considering returning.

131 was fantastic from beginning to end. Let's start with the service. Top notch from the time we sat till we left. Didn't wait long to order, server was attentive and consistently made sure things were going well. I decided to try the Rainbow Trout and substituted the kale and quinoa salad for white cheddar grits. The food arrived quickly and it was great. Fish was cooked well. Pulled easily from the skin yet was firm. Very well cooked and seasoned perfectly. The grits were also cooked well and very tasty. All in all...no complaints. This place can get busy fast so might want to make a reservation to be sure you get in. Looking forward to coming back and trying other menu items.

We went here for our anniversary and the service was great our server Nathaniel was very pleasant and attentive. The ambiance was nice and chill. We went on a Monday night. The food was good we got the corn bread for an appetizer and it came with honey. I got the ribs and it came with 2 sides. I got the asparagus and deviled eggs for the sides. My Fiance got the crab cake and it came with one side and he got the deviled eggs. He enjoyed his crab crake. He said everything f was seasoned very well. My rack of ribs were nice and tender. This place was nice and we will be coming back.

Food is amazing! Staff is so great! And you feel like you are in a high-end restaurant, which you are but without the cost! Great environment!

The absolute BEST VEGGIE BURGER ever .
    Arnie L.

It had been a little while since dining here. I was in the mood for a Veggie Burger, in fact, the BEST VEGGIE BURGER EVER! Which comes with Kale and Quinoa Salad. My wife had the Lightly Blackened Halibut Tacos. As always the Service is OVER THE TOP! When my I Iced Tea glass was nearly empty, a fresh one magically appeared. My only issue with 131 Main, and almost every other restaurant we dine at, is the cost of Iced Tea and Coffee. Yes the cost has increased but to charge $3.50 for a glass of Iced Tea is ridiculous. Many of the restaurants we eat at, especially at lunch, do not charge for it. I'm sure that at $1.25 for Iced Tea you'd still be profitable. Just my take on what I feel is an OVERCHARGE.

Classy, Delightful and Delicious restaurant ! Service is top notch! -- Group wait staff so you are never left waiting for a server. Food is excellent - all made in house . Smoked Salmon is the best in Charlotte ! Missing the Artichokes till Spring ! Did have the. jumbo grilled Asparagus- it was perfect, my husband's favorite is the Corn Bread which he devoured ! You have to try it ! Outstanding !

131 Main is my favorite place. I have celebrated two birthdays at this restaurant in ordered something different each time. This time I got the crabcakes and they were out of this world. The servers are always lovely and friendly and happy to make suggestions.

We celebrated my birthday alongside my daughter and son-in-law's 1st wedding anniversary, and 131 Main did not disappoint! All four of us started with the grilled artichoke...a must-order. Charred just right, tender, and full of flavor. Absolutely delicious! I had the filet mignon...cooked to perfection and melt-in-your-mouth good. My husband loved his prime rib sandwich, packed with flavor. My daughter, a loyal fan of their shrimp & grits, was in heaven. Her husband had the grilled chicken pasta and polished off every bite. Our server was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. We requested our favorite table in the back, and they made it happen without a hitch. We were surprised how busy it was for a 4pm reservation, but it didn't affect the quality or atmosphere at all. Cozy, bustling, and still relaxed. Sadly, I forgot to snap pics of our entrees...but the dessert? Oh my. I order it every time, and it's always the cherry on top of a perfect evening. Highly recommend 131 Main for any special occasion... or just because you want an unforgettable meal.

Talk about a consistent menu and service! For starters, you're always going to win with the double dip or cornbread! 131 is the type of restaurant you can dine in and always get great service and mouth watering dish! I love that the crab cakes are full of meat and not loaded with fillers. The zucchini is grilled to perfection! Mashed potatoes yummers! My husband got the pasta and loved every bite! We love having date night here! The pls e to get steak and not break your pockets.

Upon arrival, we curated a playlist of our favorite tunes on the Jukebox, accompanied by orders of drinks and a Fried Calamari appetizer. Opting for variety, we chose the shrimp, snow-crab, and black mussel combo shaker bag along with a fried shrimp basket. Notably, one female patron was inspired to rise from her seat and dance briefly as our selected music played, creating a convivial atmosphere that likely enhanced the experience for all Mother's Day attendees. The cuisine was outstanding, and the boiled seafood shaker bags came with a selection of seasonings and spice levels, though I don't recall ours specifically. The seafood in the shaker bag was cooked to perfection, and the fried seafood was both tasty and crispy. If I were to offer a suggestion, the corn on the cob in the shaker bag might have benefited from slightly less cooking time. We emptied the bag, save for the juices, and even ordered hush puppies to enjoy with the remaining broth. Our server was exceptional, providing unhurried service, keeping our beverages replenished, and ensuring an overall memorable Mother's Day experience.

The workers were very very busy and they were going at a fast pace -a smooth oiled machine you could tell The prices are .... Not cheap - but with prices going up so quickly all the time it's hard to know if they were re sent raised or what. That said- a great environment and very good to great food is WORTH more -to a foodie I ordered the burger - cooked medium I waited at least 30 min for it-but that's the nice thing about sitting at the bar. You can watch all the activity and look around and not be bored and get a feel for the place. When it came, it looked very nice on the plate-the brioche bun is huge-and being slightly gluten intolerant I could eat it, but I did not eat the whole bun because it is super thick. I wish I could say that about the meat! I was surprised at how thin the patty was considering the price of the burger, and especially how thick the bun was!!! It's not that it was super thin, but it was thin for that price point-and it was not cooked medium. It was completely brown throughout, but that's probably because it was thinner. I can eat well done but it's not my first choice. So to me for the price of the meal, it wasn't worth it, but I would go back and order a dish that is not a hamburger and give them another chance because I think they deserve it with everything else being a very positive experience I've got to look thru my 35,000 pictures to find more from this restaurant-cause I know I took more! I'll start at the beginning ... My friend and I spent the week of New Years in North Carolina. If you wanna know why, ask. Just know it includes trolls. On the tail end of the trip, we were looking for dinner and tried to dine at Prime Fish - even driving out to the restaurant only to find it was closed (New Years Day). But we did make it out the next night. Without reservations even (reservations not taken) - without a wait and had what I felt was the best meal of the week. Seated at the bar, we got to see the chefs in action. They were busy all night but still managed to engage with the guests - many were regulars and like the chefs, uber friendly. Conversations with the guests was just a bonus that made the evening one that I won't soon forget. But back to Prime Fish ... Service was excellent. We were tended to on the likes that is deserving of the Michelin recognition. It's not just about the food. Our server was attentive, friendly, funny and genuinely took the time and energy to make sure we had a great time. Even left us with her favorite candy - see pic. Then there's the fish. The fresh sashimi and sushi. Started off with an Toro Imperial (fatty tuna, sea urchin, sturgeon caviar, sea salt and microgreens). If not for the price tag ($50), I would have ordered more. We both opted for a premium Sashimi Tasting ($27). Each. I wasn't going to share. Not being enough, I ordered a Sushi Tasting while she ordered a Salmon Tasting. See pics - of my orders but know they won't do the fish, or the restaurant and chefs any justice. I could use all the key words used to describe an excellent Sashimi/Sushi experience but words can't and won't come close. I've had Sashimi/Sushi all over the world. I've been in places that just ooze "expensive" and had a decent experience. What I really enjoyed is that walking in, the makeshift "outdoor" patio wouldn't make you think this is a Michelin "recognized" establishment. The strip mall location or even the single counter and few tables. Made me feel like it was just a simple restaurants with excellent food and service. Just like the Michelin Guide inspectors felt.

At the time of this one star rating my friend, two lovely sisters we met at the martini paring and…read moremyself were being detained at the restaurant by the manager Sheila Hochstetler. We were accused of stealing a bottle of liquor. She and another employee blocked the door and told us the police were on the way. We attempted to show her our purses and she refused to look. None of us had what we were accused of stealing in our bags or on our person. She insisted and said "one of the 4 of you are on camera taking the bottle". We asked if that's the case, who? Which one of us? She refused. We waited for the police in order to vindicate ourselves. During this time, a male employee got in one of our faces, hands raised, yelling and aggressively using racial slurs. The manager defended HIM. Other employees then again accused us of stealing and said we are on camera. Once the police came, they said you can't tell who it is on camera. After we finished dinner, we went to the bar and ordered a drink. We sat and talked and then proceeded to leave. Who steals and then sits there and PAYS for more drinks? We each had a purse and a carry out bag with the rest of the main course. Imagine a small side salad sized container with a piece of overcooked steak they had the nerve to serve us. I'm saying this to say it is a very lightweight takeout bag and none of our purses were big enough to hold a bottle of liquor. I will be updating this thread when I have more time to get ALL of the details out. This story WILL be told. I have never experienced trauma like this!!! I don't have pictures of the food; it honestly wasn't that good anyway. Full review in the pictures. It was too long to put in the comments.
