I would call and speak to the manager to confirm but I'm sure it would be ok as long as you're ordering from the menu.

What COVID precautions does your restaurant have? Do all of your employees wear masks?

We were just there Sunday evening and not all staff wear masks. As best I can tell those in the kitchen were masked and gloved up but more than half of the waitstaff and hostesses are not donning a mask!

They have a large portion dessert menu, but we just wanted a small bite to finish our dinner with. If you ask, they can do some mini desserts for you. We tried the mini crème brûlée cheesecake. It is two squares of cheesecake with a bit of whipped cream, raspberry syrup and berries. Perfect size for two if you are quite full but just want a little something sweet. Overall, the service was good. We had to wait a bit for bread, but not a big deal. We enjoyed our night out before Valentine's Day. I still would like to come in for their weekend brunch. For the second course, we tried the sautéed shrimp with Cajun spice and charred bread as well as bacon wrapped scallops with Calabrian tomato jam. Finally, for the third course, we had the hanger steak with blue cheese butter and new potatoes. I love blue cheese, and I really loved it as an addition to this dish. After checking earlier in the year, I tried to schedule our rotating lunch group here this month. Originally told they'll reserve 12/table, yesterday I was told they can only reserve 8/table inside. Please check with manager to be sure we can't do 12; why was I told that before? Answer: "we'll let you reserve a 7/table." Now it's SEVEN? Ok I'll take 2 of those. "Let me talk to a manager to see if we can do that". What??? Ok, I'd like to talk directly to the manager now. After more waiting, the answer: "ok, we'll book 2 tables of 7 for you." Manager couldn't be bothered to take the call, apparently. New to NC, I hadn't made it to 131 yet, and now I won't bother. I booked our May lunch group elsewhere. There are many terrific restaurants in the Charlotte area. Kindred is still my favorite. I don't need to waste my time going where management feels THEIR time is wasted taking a customer inquiry for 12 or more people, filling tables on a non-busy day. read more

131 main You could describe this place as- a place I go to not often at all. Maybe twice or three times a year. I highly recommend that if you go there as an appetizer you order the artichokes which are the best I have ever had. As I said I don't go here often so just about every time I go I order the 8 oz steak and garlic mashed potatoes. There menu has probably been updated recently but from what I remember there burger is really great. It's not that I don't like this place so I don't come here often its that I just.. Don't come here often. I could go more. The reason I am describing this place do well and you would think that it would be a 5 star restaraunt. I gave it four stars because it is a long (emphasize the word long) amount of time. Everyone is friendly and waitress' are also very attentive just again that long wait kills me. Long-time 131 customer. Very disappointed that no one had masks on, despite recommendations from the state. I asked for reasoning on the website and got the standard legalese ("we comply with all ...requirements...."). Hopefully, they will realize wearing a mask, even if it's not required, is a courtesy to their patrons and change their minds. Regretfully, I have to recommend that if you have anyone in your life (or interact with anyone who has a loved one) who is over 65, diabetic, struggles with weight, or is otherwise at risk for complications of Covid-19 infections, then you should avoid this establishment. read more

Once upon a time I would have given this place a 5-star review. Once upon a time it had everything that you could want in a restaurant, great food, amazing service, nice atmosphere, and appropriate prices, however, now the atmosphere feels bland (needs an update), the prices keep rising every, I don't know week, and the service which was once brag worthy has just fallen apart. I've been a few times this year and each time it seems to keep getting worse and worse. The one positive I can say is that the food is still good, but with the rising prices soon I won't be able to say it is worth it either. read more

We had a fantastic experience at 131 Main, especially on Mother's Day--which is no small feat considering how busy restaurants get! The service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made the day feel extra special. The food was just as impressive. The shrimp and grits were absolutely delicious--rich and flavorful. And the shrimp cocktail was fresh and packed with flavor.... and absolutely huge shrimp. All around, it was a memorable meal with great service and even better food. My dining partner and I enjoyed the Pork Osso Bucco Special and the Flounder Special. The pork was so tender it fell off the bone and the flounder melted in your mouth. Our server Courtney was fantastic. She helped us with our wine selection and I was salivating as she described the daily specials. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be revisiting very soon.

We split a Caesar salad because it was so large followed by our entrees. She had scallops, creamed corn jalapeño and asparagus.
