Hidden gem in a strip mall off of Sheridan Ave. I went on a Saturday afternoon and the place wasn't too busy. I was greeted and seated right away, and given a lunch menu with a glass of water. I'd initially heard of this place when I had first moved to Denver and hadn't purchased a car yet, so was using Doordash a lot. I remember commenting on DD that the portions were huge and, well, they still are! One order of pork fried rice basically made two meals for me, forcing me to request a to-go box for leftovers. The lunch version comes with your choice of soup, some fried wonton wrappers with duck sauce, and an egg roll. The decor gives a cozy feel with traditional Chinese style designs. The couple who, I assume run the place, were extremely kind and even let me practice my horrible Chinese a little bit! Amazingly delicious! First time at this restaurant and the food was delicious! We ordered the crab cheese wontons, chicken egg drop soup, pork Thai fried rice, beef with broccoli, strawberry mochi, and vanilla mochi. We got to get pictures of the wontons, soup, and mochi (I was so hungry). The waitress was quick to serve us! Very polite. We hardly waited for our food! It was steaming hot and delicious! The pork Thai fried rice has a small after kick to to but the taste over all was amazing! Very generous on the pork portions as well! The dish itself was piled high! We took home the leftovers! The beef with broccoli came with rice. I selected fried rice. The sauce on the beef with broccoli was amazing! So tasteful. The portion for both the broccoli and beef was evenly spread and the dish itself was amazingly portioned. I took a lot home for lunch tomorrow! Over all I loved our find! Ah... NOW i remember why we don't order from them regularly. At least not on their website - they get too busy and lose orders. Waited 1.5hrs for delivery and when I called "oh, were so busy we didn't see the order." Shouldn't offer so many different ways to order if you can't track them all. This place is surprisingly delicious. It's in a pretty rundown building in a strip mall off of Sheridan. It's easy to miss and not a restaurant I would try if I hadn't looked it up prior to going. The interior could use some work, but the food and staff make up for it. We went in rather early: 5pm on a Friday. We were the only it table in there. It was awkwardly silent, except for the loudness of one of the drivers saying how this was the best Chinese food restaurant. He then went on to talk negatively about other restaurants in the area. I wished he would be mindful about how loud he was. It created such a weird vibe. The woman that greeted us and took our order was extremely pleasant. The younger gentleman taking orders over the phone was also kind and pleasant. It felt like a family restaurant (except for the one driver who stuck out like a sore thumb). We ordered the cashew chicken and sesame beef. Both came out piping hot and full of flavor. The fried rice was ok, but I didn't expect it to be the star of the show. In the future, we'll opt for takeout so we can enjoy the full flavor of everything without being disrupted by the overly loud driver. read more

It had been too long since we visited Imperial Dragon.  Approximately 7 years?  We were having a craving for Asian food this last weekend and with the weather being cold and dreary, we decided to order Imperial Dragon to enjoy at home.  I ordered the Mongolian Beef and while this dish is so seemingly simple, so many places don't execute it properly.  Imperial Dragon's rendition is so mouth watering and flavorful.  My wife got curry chicken and it too was tasty.  The crab cheese wontons are average, the pork egg rolls are pretty tasty. Their delivery time was super quick and the driver seemingly friendly (I could hear his banter at the front door while I was in our backyard).  It was refreshing to have an establishment maintain the same level of quality so many years later.  Be sure to check out or order from Imperial Dragon if you're in the neighborhood! read more

First and last experience at the imperial garden on Sheridan. The place is filthy, and the food gave me the worst stomach ache of my life. A grease slick leads you into the establishment. The windows are filthy. The door knob is filthy and yet there's a sign on the window that says if you're sick, please don't enter. What a laugh - never again. If you're in the area, go a little further south to Dartmouth and Sheridan to Jade cafe. The food is great. The place is clean and you won't get sick. read more

This place is only doing takeout or delivery just FYI if you are thinking of trying it out. Also has GREAT pricing, we bought 3 dishes and an appetizer for about $40. It is a very surprising hole in the wall. We did a takeout order and were very impressed with the portion sizes. As for the food...the sesame chicken was phenomenal it was actually chicken not just breading, it had just the right amount of sweet and spicy. The beef lo mein was one of my favorite dishes the flavoring was strong and savory. The crab cheese wantons were alittle small, but weren't greasy like usual Chinese restaurants. They were delicious. As for the chicken fried rice, it was absolutely terrible. It wasn't fried rice at all, definitely more like white rice with some peas and chicken. It definitely didn't taste right. The meal arrived in less time then was told so that was a plus. No soup at all. Call restaurant and was told that they gave us 2 extra egg rolls instead of soup. I said, no, we want the soup. He said to come and pick it up then. I said no, you screwed up, you deliver it to us. Half hour later, the soup was delivered. The shrimp entree was pretty bad. Fried to a crisp. 1.5 stars. I almost turned away when I didn't see any other diners in the restaurant, I mean, it was completely empty! We were the first ones for the night. At least the place is clean and the decors are nice, so that earned 1 star. I'm really fed up with the waiter all night long, excuse my language but I can't think of any other word but "stupid" to describe him. He spoke both broken English and Cantonese so it was kind of difficult to communicate with him. When we requested password for wi-fi, he gave us two random numbers that of course lead to nowhere. What kind of places give out fake wifi passwords?!!? When I inquired about substitutions, he said no, either the restaurant doesn't do it (but it's unconsiderate not to do it to accomadate people with food allergies!) or he refuses because it'll make his job easier! I do not like him! Then came the food, portion wise it was good and the Pan Fried dumplings were probably the only average thing for the night, thus earning the other half star. We also ordered Curry Shrimp and Twice Cooked Pork, both contain some stinky smelling bamboo shoots, making the food taste un-fresh. Talking about freshness, we're Chinese, and it's stupid for them to think they can fool us with some BBQ pork in place of real, twice cooked pork! I'm sure they just used the leftover BBQ pork for the dish because they didn't sell out. That's unethical, and I'm totally disgusted at the end of the night. Best Chinese in Denver! We've been customers at Imperial Dragon since 2012 and I realized I've never done a review for them, shame on me. Sesame Chicken and Orange Chicken are always meaty and scrumptious. Not that soggy, all breading-no meat stuff you get at other places. Shrimp Fried Rice is always delish and never greasy. Ours always automatically comes with peas & carrots and onions so we don't ever have to ask to add in. Not sure if that's automatic for all fried rice orders, so be sure to ask if you don't like those ads-ins. Seafood Soup is always delish, filled with shrimp, scallops, imitation crab meat, and loads of vegetables. I like my food spicy so we always ask for extra hot oil and dunk the container in the soup! It's the best if you're feeling under the weather but yummy and warm soup to warm your tummy and soul. We also try to get other dishes such as Shrimp or Chicken with Vegetables in white garlic sauce which never disappoints. This is one of the best Chinese food places around! My fiancé and I absolutely love the food here. We've been ordering from here for over 3 years and let me say, they rarely disappoint. Every now and again someone will say they don't deliver to our area (Lakewood) even with the promise of a "nice tip" which is a major disappointment. The food here is sooooo good!
