These grocery carts are not to be used! Says the staff inside
    George C.

I came here as part of the Dragon Boat Festival celebration. It was an interesting contrast. All the workers giving out the samples and promotions were quite nice. They were informative, answered questions and patient. Contrast that to the workers inside. I had multiple staff telling me various things that did not make sense. The most annoying was that I was not supposed to use the rolling basket carts. I tried to explain to them that I would return the cart after using it but they would not listen, saying I shoild take a shopping cart instead. Well, this isn't the first grocery store with a similar rule but def9nitely the first to go out of their way to inconvenience me and refuse to listen. I have to say that this soured what was a completely positive experience otherwise. My guess is that they put all the friendly and helpful staff in the samples and celebration areas. They put the rest who hate their lives or enjoy wielding their power over the average grocery store patron.

I grab some of those to quench my thirst. There are 3 other flavors - Yuzu, Strawberry and Cherry.

I like swinging by 99 Ranch Market. If you're used to standard American grocery stores, stepping into 99 Ranch Market might feel like you've taken a sharp turn --and honestly, that's the best part. The 99 Ranch market isn't just a standard grocery store -- sort of like a melting pot for Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and other East Asian specialties products. I mean the instant noodles & sauce aisles alone could give you a headache. :) I've been reading some reviews (and couldn't discern it's an isolated incident or something else), for newcomers, a few things might stand out. The seafood section, for example, is a trying to replicate a "wet market"--think fresh fish on ice, tanks with live crab and lobster, and a certain oceanic aroma in the air. Some may find it overwhelming or unexpected, especially if you're used to pre-packaged fillets behind glass. But for others, this is a sign of freshness and authenticity. Then, a food court is equally aromatic, with regional Chinese dishes, roasted ducks, and pre-packed meals and snacks (like roasted chestnuts). you usually need a passport to find. :))). I guess might also point out the bakery to grab some pastries. It is sensory overload. It may feel a feel a bit chaotic or foreign. The aisles are jammed packed with products so maneuvering is a tad tricky. But be nice and smile, and all will be well. So, if you're open-minded--and hungry, it's a detour worth taking. The cashiers are usually a little slow but hey, we grocery shopping. :)

Great selection of seafood at amazing prices

Love the seafood department and the great sale they offer! Plus, the people working here are very friendly. They also have great deals on produce if you come at the right time. Plenty of spacious parking. Also, my favorite place to get Dungeness crab.

Quality of their service is just like their paper-thin grocery bags that were cheaply made. Probably the cost of the bag is under a penny which can't hold anything. Don't buy milk from this market too. It's not even fully refrigerated.

Haven't been here in a while. Lobby looks so different. Big planters gone. So spacious and clean. Used restrooms and it's a lot cleaner compared to what it use to be. Market itself is one my favorite place to shop. Pretty much everything you would need is here. Fresh vegetables, fruits, poultry, meat, and seafood even live ones. Got a Hawaiian papaya. A little pricey for a tiny fruit but I know flavor is the best in its variety. Competitive price and I would say you get what you paid for. Place even have cooked food fast food style and bakery too. Service is nothing special but you'll get what you need. Got Hainan chicken box. Chicken cold dish style but good and even better with sauce (can't figure out what's in it?). Liked the pickled radish/carrot that came with it. Will surely try BBQ pork and tofu next time.

This place isn't the same as the other 99 ranch markets I've been to. It's new and has several other store inside (not just its outer surroundings like an indoor mall). Upon entering, you can smell the fish and meat market right away, and then a mask of freshly baked goods near the entrance (which you have to pay at the cashier first THEN you can pick some up from the stall). We walked starting left to right, they had lots of sample stations out, mostly noodles and dumplings. The staff are very nice, they will give you freebies and advice on how to cook them properly or make it better for your taste. Their selection of goods are very diverse, they do seem bigger once you stroll a bit more. The key differences are the bbq station with roasted ducks. I have seen some 99 ranch markets with to go food stations but not roasted ducks. They still have the usual bakery, but this one also had a sushi station to buy boxed freshly made sushi rolls. After walking a bit more, the issue I had was the cashier lines, it's pretty much all across the entrance but the long lines can also block incoming and passing by customers. Overall, pretty good market inside an indoor spacious center with other stores which I hope they get more!

Pretty good. This supermarket looks a lot bigger on the outside than it is on the inside. They have a lot of items, but not the specific ones we were looking for which was a disappointment. There are also a couple of shops one the sides before you get to the actual market which is fun. We also noticed that the workers were all pretty old and didn't speak English which made it difficult to ask for help. Nevertheless, they seemed to have a large stock of various items as well as a small bakery inside. Decent.

Hot dog bun and California rolls

I come here to always get some affordable sushi! I love it so much I cannot stress it enough. So easy to just grab and go right? I take it to work or if I'm going on a little trip but I don't wanna cook the night prior or meal prep a full week in advance. The service here though in the separate cafe they have is awful. I paid for my sushi and I go in line again cause I wanted a few hot dog buns they had available in their café I believe. While I'm in line again I asked this much older woman if they have any chop sticks she literally screams at me and says "NO HAVE." Meanwhile I took note that they have a plentiful amount right behind her, I don't know what her name is but she looked a bit important. She had a blue samue on which looked a bit different from everyone else's uniform in that Cafe. It was super upsetting. I looked forward to eating a nice meal on the go and get yelled at for asking for some chopsticks. I'm not saying don't go! Or to let a mean lady shoo anyone away from going to this market or the little cafe just beware cause it's a little ridiculous to be treated this way at an establishment. Especially when the ambiance is so quaint. Anyways here's the sushi and hotdog buns!

I always shop here because the store is clean, well-maintained, and always has everything I need for everyday meals, holidays, and parties. The last time I visited, they even had the siu mai and soup I like. Highly recommend!

3/23/24 Not my favorite 99 Ranch branch. Maybe my very least one. At first I thought, hey, this looks organized & neat but as I went further, it's not worth the visit. Maybe I was immediately put off when I went to the meat dept to get some meats sliced. It's about 2 pm snd the staff told me, "no more slicing". No apologies, no reason, just "no more slicing". It's the main reason I visited this store. I would understand if it was near closing time but, really? It's 2 pm!!! I had dishes in mind to cook that required meat sliced a certain way and this deterred my plans. In any case, I bought the other ingredients and now I would have to visit another store for the meats. Well, it's one store I'm not going to visit again.

Stopped by on Saturday, 02/24/24. This review is particularly for the Bakery located inside the 99 Ranch Market and adjacent to the sushi area. I ordered the following: - 1 Matcha Latte (hot) = $3.49 - 1 House Coffee (hot) = $2.49 TOTAL = $5.98 The matcha latte was sooo delicious and you can definitely taste the heaviness of the matcha; definitely worth the price. The house coffee was mediocre. I originally wanted to purchase their specialty coffee (charcoal baked oolang latte and the vietnamese iced coffee) but they didn't have any.

I've ordered takeout from here twice, and both times the chow mein noodles tasted spoiled.

    Our beautiful fruits and vegetables!

The layout of the store was very interesting because it looked like a mini market, and they sell fresh exotic fruits and snacks. Ordering a yogurt was a bit confusing because I did not see any pricing, but they had some instructions on how to order. Step 1: Choose dry Greek yogurt. Step 2: Pick up your fresh fruits (limit 3 items). Step 3: Choose Topping (Oats, coconut chips, or boom boom pearl). Step 4: Honey or Dark Chocolate My daughter picked a small jar of Organic blue spirulina with coconut dry yogurt. Then she picked green grapes, mangos, and strawberries for her yogurt bowl. And we also picked boom boom pearl for topping, and chose honey at the end. Then the lady told me that the price was $24.08. It was pricey. I don't understand their pricing or explanation, even though I have the receipt. She told me that it took about 10-15 minutes to make it. Honestly, for the small jar of organic blue spirulina with coconut dry yogurt, it tasted a bit sour, and I was not a fan of it. The presentation of the yogurt was nice; however, for the price that we paid, it was still a bit ripped off. The fruits were fresh, and the boom boom pearl tasted like popping boba was interesting. The Greek Yogurt was a bit too thick. I would rather go to the Açaí bowl place to have more fresh fruit and a bigger portion. The lady was friendly and helpful. But I would rather go to Açaí bowl and Yogurtland combined next time. P.S. I forgot to mention that they were out of honey, so no honey in the yogurt bowl.
