We tried 16C for the first time tonight. We arrived a bit after 7 and the place was packed. We had to wait ~30+ minutes. Crowded is a good sign, right? We eventually got a seat at the kitchen bar where we had a full view of the open kitchen. We ordered the beat salad which was solid, french fries (very good fries, okay sauces), and an awesome (DELICIOUS) mushroom, cheese, and onion pizza. The pizza was truly amazing. Good beers, good wine selection, and a solid mixed drink menu. The atmosphere in 16C was hip, clean, modern, and felt like a fancy night out. We have two toddlers, it was a special night :-) We look forward to going back to 16C! read more

Some of my favorite pizza in the area. Docking a star because service can be hit or miss. We've had great waitresses, and then we've had waitresses that seem to wander off for 20 minutes without checking in. But go for half meatball/half pepperoni - you won't be disappointed. And try to save room for the salted caramel brownie sundae ;). Beer & cocktail selection are also very solid. read more

Just tried 16C for the first time today. After a long search for parking, I was pleasantly surprised at the interior design. Nice, trendy but a bit loud and it wasn't crowed. Our waitress, was not the most pleasant person I have met. She neglected to give us bread dishes. After trying to get her attention, and she wasn't that busy, my wife got up to ask her for dishes. The food was presented well, but the quality of my burger was less than average. My burger was greasy rather than moist. Not how I like them or how a burger should be served. When the waitress asked how everything was, I told her what I though and she just walked away. Needless to say I didn't finish my burger, but I am finished with visiting 16C. I would rate this restaurant very overpriced for the quality and service I received. read more

I've been here a couple times now and the service has always been great. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. I would recommended any of their pizzas and the steak tips are pretty good too! It's a smaller place, but I haven't had to wait too long to be seated yet (either at a table or at the bar). read more

I guess Asians are not welcome at this place. I had one of the worst restaurant experience in my life here at this place. First the service was just awful! I came in here tonight for dessert and wine, and the bartender was so rude. When he handed me the menu he didn't say anything nor did he make eye contact. At first I thought he was just probably having a bad day, but then I noticed that he apparently treats all the white customers completely different and so much better. I won't ever step foot in this place ever again, and I'll tell all my friends to stay away from this place. Pizza is great... love that you can order half and half pizza. Highly recommend the cheeseburger pizza and the sausage pizza. Broccoli Caesar is amazing as is the beet salad. All of the homemade ice creams are amazing and the homemade bread is delicious! read more

Wanted to love this place but actually walked out before even ordering. The restaurant was not that busy and we stood at the hostess desk while she told us "wait a minute and answered the phone"she kept us standing there while she talked. I could get over that no biggie but then she brought us to a table threw some menus at us and said very unenthusiastically said "have a good meal". I looked at the menu with the $20.00 pizzas and the average decor and decided to go to Novara. My husband did try to help her on how to greet customers but I don't think she got it or really cared probably just went and laughed with her friends about it. We went to Novara and spent $80.00. These restaurants are so stupid if you are going to charge those kind of prices you have to spend some money hiring great staff and the hostess gives the first impression of the place. I think they are so use to having people line up and wait for a seat that they just don't care but that will wear off real fast especially with all these new restaurants popping up all over. read more

Steak tips are NOT anything like the Quite Man. Four small tips and fries for $20. No thank you. If they were anywhere near as good as the Quite Man, maybe. The tips I got were bland tasting and tough. For the price, I would expect a MUCH better quality tip and a salad with it. Give it a yuppie name and overcharge everyone seems to be the way at new (or remodeled) places in Quincy. At least for the ones close to Quincy Center. The only reason for the two stars is service was great. We didn't have the pizza, so I can't rate that, but if I want a good pizza I'd go to ________! read more

I am here at least once a week having dinner. One of the few spots on the South Shore where everything on the menu is fantastic. The service and the manager running the place couldn't be nicer. This is my first Yelp review I've written. But I felt like I had to after my experience here. I feel bad writing this because I am a former server, but this was the worst customer service I've received at a restaurant in my life. It was about 15 min that no one came over to our table (pretty small dining room with 5 waitresses so not sure how no one noticed us). So after the 15 min I went up to hostess and said I'm not sure if anyone knows they have the table because no one has been over. 10 min later... Still nothing. We were trying to make eye contact with every waitress that came by but they just continued to walk by us, it was literally like we were invisible. I was finally able to flag down a waitress and said no one has seen us. It was almost 30 min before anyone even brought us over a water. You may have thought we were just the one table that slipped through the cracks but after talking to another table of people that we happened to know, we were told that at least two other tables had gotten up and left during the time that they were there. Working at a restaurant for years I stayed patient because I wanted to give 16C a chance. My boyfriend and I actually tried to come the night before and they were out of steak tips (why we wanted to go after reading a featured article in the Herald) at 8pm so we left. Finally the food and drink - I got served the wrong cocktail but I didn't care at that point, we had waited so long I would have drank anything you put in front of me. The pizza was a bit doughy and undercooked (Id recommend getting them well done) but tasty otherwise. The steak tips were pretty good but marinade was kind of overpowering (heavy on the soy I believe). After we ordered I was told they were all out of french fries (Who runs out of french fries?) so had to settle for the rice. Once the food came out... I had to flag someone down because we did not have utensils, plates, or napkins. The waitress brought over one set of utensils and one napkin for my boyfriend and I, I guess we were supposed to share. The biggest problem I couldn't understand is that when I was a server if it was busy I would have been so apologetic. There was just no sense of urgency or chemistry with the servers and I'm still not sure if it is supposed to be a waitress by committee type situation or if each has their own table but whatever it is, it wasn't working. There's no excuse for someone to run by and not notice that someone doesn't have utensils, side plates or even water...that should just be a given right when you sit down. As far as the atmosphere goes, the decor was actually very nice and the scene at the bar seemed to be casual and fun (Celtics Playoffs were on). I feel like one of those annoying people on Yelp but I'm writing this in an effort that hopefully management can make the necessary staffing changes or retraining necessary to make 16C as good as I think it has the potential to be. 2 Stars for now. I'll be back to give it a second chance, but like the service tonight, I just won't be in a rush to do so. read more

Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the more honest reviews on here. After letting the initial hype in local media after the grand opening settle, I came here with a friend and an open mind. The place was packed with an elegant after-work crowd at 7 PM on a Wednesday night, so we figured there's gotta be something to it. Started off with the Four antipasto app which didn't impress. Bland creamy cheeses, hummus and some very oily olives. The drinks were done well though. We settled on the Bianco "sheet" as it is called here, aka flatbread pizza. It consists of white pizza with potatoes, rosemary and straciatella cheese, but was entirely lacking of flavor. I wonder if they ran out of salt that day. The rosemary was very overpowering. Might be a better idea to add it after baking the pizza, and not letting it burn in the oven. The service was very friendly and attentive, absolutely no issues there. The decor is tasteful and modern, the drink list up to standard. But none of the served dishes were anything I'd rave to my friends about. Unlikely to return. read more

Very plain, noisey, crowded, small restaurant. We orderd the antipasti first....it was served on a teeny square plate, ....seriously, itty bitty portions. Approx, a tablespoon of white beans, ..3 sugary grape tomatoes, a tablespoon of Baratta cheese, 1/4 cup of olives, three crouton sized pieces of bread, and two teeny artichokes, $20. Seriously....I almost laughed. My wine was $10.... And I received the tiniest glass of wine I've ever been served. The people next to us also orderd wine, and they looked shocked as well. I looked around at what other people ordered ...and their portions were minimal, and dry looking too..... We had also orderd pizza, which, was a small rectangle of very Dry bubbled bread....with minimal topping. With so many other choices to dine at in Quincy,....why eat dry food, with tiny portions,..that are very overpriced?? Not to mention a very grumpy, non sociable bar tender. We've been there several times including last Friday night and it's always busy. It is a special place with a simple menu where everything is delicious including the cocktails, wine and local brews. For appetizers try the calamari, house made potato chips with real onion dip, the chicken wings, or homemade meatballs just to name a few. Their burgers, chicken, steak tips and other tavern fare are really good but the pizza sheets are incredible. There are several toppings including the special mozzarella cheese they use make them a meal for two or more. Leave room for the many desserts which are also great. The owner is out on the floor talking to customers and helping the staff make it a fun relaxing time. She took the time to speak to us twice and you can tell she really wants feedback. We can't wait to try the weekend brunch service next. read more

Came in on the day before Memorial Day. Super busy which to me meant it was going to be pretty good, so I was excited. There was about a 30 minute wait but a few people were leaving at the bar, so my girlfriend and I decided to eat there. The bartender came over right away to take drink orders. My beer came shortly afterward along with her water. Shortly afterward, the bartender took our order: steak tips medium rare and the burger medium well. We waited 50 minutes after placing our order. The bartender came over at 35 minutes afterward to apologize about the wait stating something along the line of 'I reminded the kitchen you've been waiting 35 minutes and it must be that everyone ordered the tips at the same time and there's not enough room on the grill'. At one point, a couple came in and asked for drink menus, waited 5 minutes and asked again with the bartender saying, "Didn't I give you those? What did I do with that?" followed by getting them ASAP for those customers. Another 12-15 minutes went by after our bartender visited and finally the food came out. The tips were pretty good, but not 'a 50 minute wait' good (out of rice, we subbed for broccoli rob, which was not good to me - personal opinion). The plate had the tips, a salad, and the broccoli rob all together crammed side-by-side-by-side; I didn't think twice about it but my girlfriend was offput by this. The burger, which turned out to be a double patty, was okay but to me did not taste like "wagu" (spelling should be wagyu...not sure if it was a typo in their menu or a clever way to try and price the beef higher). Regardless, not sure I'd go back unfortunately. I did notice the bartender's pours were very long which was probably awesome for those ordering liquor drinks! Overall, sadly a let down from all that I and the girlfriend had seen. May try it out again at a later date (the wait could be due to being fairly new, not sure) but probably won't be back this summer. Pros: good steak tips. Three dinners (twice at the bar, once in the dining room) and not a single mediocre entree. Antipasti appetizer is substantial and the components varied and tasty. Two different sheet pizzas, the topping on each were well considered and again delicious. The dough though, deserves special mention because it is absolutely outstanding. Tonight I had the steak tips and they are as good as the hype surrounding them out there on the foodie scene. It's almost not fair that the desserts are so good. Castle Island, Jack's Abby and Two Roads off the craft beer menu, and Miraval Rose as the dinner wine with a white pie. This place makes my happy. read more

My wife and I wanted to eat here before a friend of ours showed up for drinks. Because our friend wasn't here they wouldn't seat us until she arrived. She had already eaten and we waited 1 hour and 45 min until she arrived. We decided to sit at the bar to eat. Management needs to take notice. Ridiculous! Then to make things worse management approached us while we were entertaining our friend about my yelp review. So unprofessional. For what we paid, I thought it would have been better. It was over $100 when including the tip. We each had 2 draft beers ($7/each), and the steak tips, and we split the shrimp appetizer. The shrimp were good, 7 of them. The steak tips were also good, they were tender, but not great. From what I have been hearing they are supposed to be great. A little salty really. The service was good. There was all country music playing which seemed off for the atmosphere. The pizzas looked really good, but we did not get one. Obviously the prices are listed, I was just surprised at how much it cost when we added it up. read more

Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Both meals just ok. Chicken Parm sandwich and Meatball Panini respectively. Chicken was tough but sauce and cheese were good. Meatball Panini had very little meatballs on it. I originally came in for a burger but I will never pay $15 for a burger. I don't care that it's grass fed. That kind of pricing is obscene. My first visit to this fairly new restaurant. We had a party of four. Two of us split a pizza with carmelized onions and figs. Too sweet for me but the women enjoyed it. My friend had the meatballs and said they were great. I ordered the "Quiet Man Pub" steak tips which were like shoe leather. My jaw was so fatigued from chewing that I had to quit after eating two tips. The French fries were no better as I could only find three that were edible as the rest were skinny and overcooked or had been reheated. Mixed bag here. read more

Loved the newly opened 16C!!! The atmosphere, the bar, the decor was beautiful! And the service was fantastic...I was greeted warmly by the host the second I walked in. And the great service continued at our table. The server recommended some delicious options...we enjoyed the antipasto, the mushroom pizza and the variety of gelato. I found the menu to be very small. If you like pizza then this place is for you, otherwise, you might have a hard time finding what you want from such a small menu. The brownie desert with the sea salt caramel ice cream which they make there was great, we split it which was perfect for lunch. We decided to spontaneously go to 16C tonight, and knew from reviews to get there early. There was a line at 450pm on Sunday (they open at 5p), so you know it's stiff competition getting a table! We opted for the bar, and we're happy to find a large bar area, as well as a "chef's bar" area by the kitchen. High tables were available on the bar side as well as regular tables in the dining room. We ordered the Calamari because of good reviews and it was DELICIOUS. Arugula and a garlic-mayo type sauce (not too much).. Yum! We also split a mushroom pizza which was the perfect size for two. It was cooked PERFECTLY.. Crispy crust but not burnt, divine! We surprisingly got a free dessert because we just happened to make friends with a relative of the owner. We were granted a coconut sorbet that was scrumptious. 16C had a great tap, full of top New England beers (southie's candlepin, wormtown's be hoppy, and some CT, hingham, and New Hampshire choices). I've been here twice now and it was excellent both times. It starts with super-friendly staff and follows with great food. Th menu isn't huge (not a bad thing) and all ingredients were really fresh and well-prepared. (One time we had the bar seats looking into the kitchen and could see ho well.) The menu lends itself to sharing and the meatballs are amazing, as are the steak tips and salads. Great desserts and a small but nice selection of draft beers. I'll definitely be back.
