Super friendly staff with lots of different drinks to choose from. I love how innovative their drinks are and it's interesting how some of them have durian! I tried out the coco Pandan this time and I really enjoyed the unique coconut water jelly inside which added subtle coconut flavours that weren't artificial! The interior of the cafe was spacious and great to hang out in

This cute cafe is ran by a very sweet lady who greeted us with a bow. We ordered the strawberry cheese cake and the Oreo toast which were both divine. The strawberry cheesecake is one the best cheesecakes I've had. It's nice fluffy and creamy. It's not too sweet so it's easy to just keep on eating. It was perfect. The jam tasted so fresh and not artificial at all, so that also helps to make it not as sweet. The Oreo toast had toasted marshmallows on it and it made it taste SO good. It was like a giant s'more. Again, not too sweet at all. We also opted for a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top which I definitely recommend doing because it helps balance out the bread. The toast was also super fluffy and it tore away so nicely. Definitely recommend coming here. Two people were able to enjoy this dessert without feeling too stuffed. It was just the right amount after dinner!~

Went to this place to grab some dessert in the early evening. I realized that they are only offering take-out now due to COVID. The store is ran by a husband/wife couple, in which one took my order while the other started preparing the food. We ordered a matcha red bean toast that came with A LOT of mochi bits and matcha powder. They really didn't skimp on the ingredients. We also ordered a mango smoothie, which tasted great. Strong mango flavor, very smooth, and no chunks. It's been really sad to see so many smaller stores not having much business due to COVID. Their prices are very reasonable for a store in Steveston, and the food quality is amazing. I don't think there are places that sell dessert toast for the price that we paid and for the amount of ingredients that were on it. I would definitely give it a try if you're in the area. Next time, I'd come back to try the Injeolmi toast!

This is the first time I tried this place. This sweet shop only do take-out, no dine in during current covid 19 period. They set up a table in front of the door and take your order in person. I think the owners are Taiwanese. I ordered... 1) Mango Frappe (Shaved Ice) I love this shaved ice. The shaved ice is very fine texture with milk ingredients. So it tastes like ice-cream sorbet and melt in your mouth. It has lot of mango chunks, a mango icecream, mango puree, some baked sliced almond. I was surprised that they put some crispy cereal Kellogg flakes at the bottom of the shaved ice. It definitely brought me back the memory of Taiwan night market's shaved ice. I definitely will order this again if I pass by this area in the future. 2) Matcha Red Bean Cheesecake The cheesecake was covered with matcha powder and lots of red bean paste. It's average imo. I had a hot Hojicha Tea while eating these something sweet. Taste: Price: $$$

A sweet dessert place in Steveston They are only taking orders for Take Out. We got 10% off checking in on Yelp The menu is posted on the window and inside But we could only place our order at the door We wanted to try everything on the menu, but settled on Ice cream (milk tea and the chai tea), Oreo Dessert Toast, and Mango Sago dessert. The ice cream was icy and not very smooth The Mango Sago tasted okay, nothing special It take about 5-10 min for the Dessert toast to be made but worth the wait! This was my favorite!

This place is located near the Fraser River on the South side of Richmond. The owners are very nice people and they make delicious Korean bingsoos. I tried their mango bingsoo, and loved it! Currently, they are only offering take-out due to COVID. There is usually ample parking along the street.

Finally tried this place last night, on a rainy Saturday night. We had an early dinner, so we were able to get dessert early as well. Timing worked out well for us because this place is small, so there aren't a lot of tables. However, it was super clean and even had some toys for the little kids so they were entertained while we dined. Tried the salted caramel toast and it was delish! I'm not a big fan of marshmallows and this toast has roasted marshmallows in between the 2 slices of toast. However, I couldn't even really taste the marshmallows and the whole thing was really good! Hubby tried the taro coconut cold soup -- wasn't anything memorable about it. It was good, just as good as any other place if you've had it before. But I'm still giving this place a good rating because we really enjoyed our desserts.

    Mango frappe

Something Sweet is only open for takeout during covid and their desserts are delicious! We got the mango frappe to go and was an instant fan of the big mango chunks we got. The ice was just the right consistency and we particularly liked the cornflakes that we found at the bottom. Will definitely be back to try more of the things on their menu!

This place is almost too good to share because I want to keep it all to myself - but I'll do something sweet and share about Something Sweet with you. A cozy, dessert shop in the quaint Steveston community, Something Sweet is run by the same owners as the famous bbt shop Peanuts! Coming from Taiwan, the owners wanted to share their love of sweets - especially of fluffy, shaved ice! Even though the shop is narrow, the seating area has great options for small and larger groups with wooden tables and benches. Clean, bright and fresh vibes. We ordered a few desserts to share - to start, we had the Brown Sugar Pearl Frappe. The bed of fluffy ice was creamy, milky and melt in your mouth, topped with sweet brown sugar drizzle and smooth brown sugar ice cream, the first bites were delicious! And then you add in some chewy pearls, it was heavenly! But wait, it gets even better at the bottom because there are corn flakes! It blew our mind and tastebuds - that crisp and crunch with the silky, flluffy icee was a taste and texture masterpiece! This is a dessert I would order again and again and again! Next was the Matcha Red Bean Dessert Toast. Semi-sweet red bean with chewy, gooey mochi sandwiched between perfectly toasted white toast then dusted with matcha powder and a drizzle of condensed milk - it was a delicious balance of sweet, bitter, savoury and mouthfeels! Finally we had to try some of their made in-store ice cream. Hojicha had a pleasant roasted flavour. Oolong Tea had so much tea flavour it was like I was drinking the real thing. Passionfruit was so rich it was incredible. All of the ice creams had a nice smoothness but not overly creamy texture. Alicia was super nice and checked up on us while topping up our waters, the water offered was flavoured with lemon. Everything was served and presented with care - you can feel and taste the effort and thought they put into everything. If you want to find something sweet, come to Something Sweet!!!

    Ali mountain tea

Small dessert shop with delicious and unique ice cream flavors. My family had just finished a big dinner so unfortunately we didn't have room for their toasts which looked decadent. Instead we opted for ice cream and tapioca. The mango tapioca had chunks of mango and pieces of pomelo. The tartness of the pomelo brought out the sweetness of the mango flavor. It was nice and light, not too sweet. I could certainly taste the mango fruit and it was not artificial. For the ice creams, we ordered one tea flavor (Ali mountain) and one floral (osthmanthus). The tea flavor was light and refreshing, like drinking an actual cup of Ali mountain tea. My favorite out of the two was the floral osthmanthus flavor. It was slightly sweet and the ice cream texture was perfectly smooth. Although it was a cold night, these cold desserts hit the spot. Can't wait to come back and try their toasts and frappes!

    Injeolmi frappe
    Melody Z.

So excited that to learn that this dessert shop is owned by the same people of Peanuts in Richmond Public Market... the OG of bubbletea shops. We went for pre-dinner dessert: the Injeolmi frappe and a double scoop of osmanthus honey and Ali Mountain Tea. The injeolmi frappe is like a cross between a Taiwanese shaved ice and the Korean bingsoo "milk ice". It was very nice and the peanut powder was great. The mochi is a more Taiwanese style that's softer to chew. The ice cream scoop that came with it tasted like condensed milk flavour. The honey drizzle was a nice touch. The osmanthus honey was sweet and had a strong honey taste. The Ali Mountain Tea was a bit lighter on the tea flavour than I would've expected. Nonetheless we enjoyed both. You could taste that everything was homemade and made with time and care. The shop is very cute as well. Nice clean decor with lots of seating. Also we appreciated that they had air con.

Something Sweet is a NEW dessert house in Steveston Village! What a great opening as they have discounts on everything on the menu and a 25% off first-timers for checking-in on Yelp! The owner, also the confectioner, at the back is efficient and personable. He is patient an does the job. He always has a smile on his face and happy to serve customers. I've had the oreo frappe and I really like it. It's not too sweet and the frappe isn't icy like I've had in some places. It's quite soft and it just melts in my mouth. I've also had the mango tapioca. The servings for both desserts are fair and prices are reasonable. Lovely front cashier. Great service. Even though I've been here a few times to order the same dessert, the front lady still asks how the food is so far. :) Clean small space. Well-maintained. I'll come back again!

bright open seating with communal tables made of wood. very marines style...very steveston!

cant believe such an awesome dessert place opened up in my little fishing village... so many varieties to choose from ...they've got tea, frappes ( shaved ice and ice cream and goody toppings) , and dessert toasts. despite the chilly weather, i thought, gotta go try it as its so near me. place is brightly lit. long communal tables and eccentric designed lighting... im thinking this is a family biz as the mom was the cashier/server/order taker/ hostess and dad and daughter were in the back making the good the stuff. anyhow, wanted to split a dessert with the wife so we tried one of their signature dishes...the mango frappe! its shaved ice infused with milk, mango ice cream, whipped cream, mango chunks, and mango puree drizzled all over and topped with shaved almonds. ( now doesnt this make your mouth water already???) it was fantastic. wasnt too sweet at all. i like how they did not cheat and put condensed milk to overly saturate the sweet factor. instead, they let the mangos and ice cream do the talking, making sure we taste the mango goodness of the dish. the shaved ice was infused with plain milk. the whipped cream felt light and fluffy. the mango ice cream was rich and had the right temp making it not melt when served. now right in the middle of the dessert was a surprised that i did not anticipate....cornflakes! yes! it was packed with good ole bfast cornflakes, giving the dish more body and cruuuunch! the shaved almonds was a nice touch as well, giving more depth and class to the dish. service was amazing despite the one woman show. she worked tirelessly whilst keeping a smile on her face and trying to seat and serve everyone. place was full when i sat down. i am gonna go back again and try their other stuff. im sure my kids will love em , specially its just walking distance from us. best part: no guilty feeling after as the dish was not overly sweet! it was perfectly balanced and created. cheers! happy eating! update: tried the salted caramel toast and the strawberry frappe! - both are so good! frappe tasted fresh. not too sweet! just right to cleanse and please the palette after a ramen dinner ;) salted caramel toast blew me away. so good. marshmallow in between the bread was so soft and charred to perfection. it was like eating a smore 2.0 tip: still 20% off on all orders wow! reasonable prices but excellent quality!

The dining space is small but the decoration inside makes you feel like you transported to a different country. Marshmallow Thick Toast 4/5 The toast was about an inch thick, well toasted outside with a pillowy soft center. There's some melted chocolate on the bottom that added to the smores vibe. The marshmallows on top weren't very thick, so it melted to an even layer with perfect browning. The toast was cut into 9 pieces so it can be shared but given the portion I think 1-2 people would be fitting for this dessert. We weren't too hungry, so we shared amongst 4. Jasmine Tea Jelly 4/5 I really liked how fragrant the jelly was and that the jelly was a softer jelly that reminds you of Aiyu jelly. The after taste was a bit bitter but I feel like that tells me it was brewed and made and not just bought to serve. It's served with a splash of half and half I believe. To-Go I wanted to try and compare all the tea flavored jellies they had, Jasmine, Oolong and Earl Grey Tea Jelly. Packaged with small packets of the half and half to add later. The best was OOLONG 5/5- it had a slight roasted tea flavor that was refreshing and comforting at the same time. What you would want from a milk tea. Second best was Jasmine - fragrant and less bitter than the one I had in restaurant, typical jasmine flavor that's lightly floral and not too heavy Earl Grey 3/5 - it was good if you like earl grey like me, but it has an intensely strong fragrance and flavor that might be off-putting if you're not used to the taste. It was by far the strongest floral taste and smell of the three. I'd definitely be back to get these to go, they carry well and you can cross borders with them :)

However, it's the chunks of bean that I don't like, and this wheel cake had chunks of bean in it.
