8/2/22 First time dining here, and it won't be the last. Being a restaurant that primarily caters to the Lyman's Golf Course crowd, it's understandably located alongside their clubhouse in a relatively obscure location. I'm having lunch here with an old buddy and I checked Yelp to find a place more or less midway between our homes. The 1741 Pub fit the bill. Upon entering I was greeted by a sweet young woman that let me pick the table I liked. I found one that had very nice views overlooking not only the golf course, but had a commanding view of the surrounding countryside on this beautiful early August day. Lunch was with my old friend Ron D. today, and he selected a Caesar Salad with grilled chicken that looked very fresh and crisp (both the salad & the chicken LOL). He said it was very good. I started with a bowl of their chili that came with nice slices of fresh Jalapeño peppers, a good helping of melted cheddar cheese, & a big dollop of sour cream. I put the pepper slices off to the side because I'm just not crazy about 'em. The chili however was a much larger portion than I expected and was really good. Thick and meaty with just the right proportion of beans. When our server placed the bowl in front of me I said, "I don't think I needed to order a burger too"! It was excellent chili. My cheeseburger was a solid 1/2 pound and cooked just as I prefer them, pink in the middle. A great lunch with a great guy, with spot on service from our adorable server. Cute pub on Lyman Orchard's property. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside where we enjoyed some delicious drinks (pictured Dreamsicle, Mango Razz Margarita, and Lyman Orchard Hard Cider). For food, we had the Smoke House Burger and Chicken Salad which were fantastic. They also had live music which was fun. read more

We first came to the 1741 Pub & Grill to play cards, but the bonus was the food and drinks. It's located right next to the golf course and has lots of windows in the dining room that overlook the course. We've been here a few times now and the food is absolutely better than you would expect from a golf course pub, but seriously, it's good! We've had salads, burgers, and other sandwiches, and they have good fries. Their bar has lots of local beer choices on tap as well as options in cans. Would definitely recommend checking it out! Lyman and the Pub have tons of activities going on so check out the website for live music, cards, and other choices. read more

The food here was amazing. Went on a Friday night around 630 (reservations recommened) and it was fairly busy. The live music was good if not q bit loud for the small interior. Outdoor seating has gold course views. Server was attentive and friendly. Salad and burgers were great, will definitely be back. read more

I had the Smokehouse burger and my wife had the 1741 burger. Both were outstanding. You can tell that this was a quality piece of meat...hand pressed burgers and not just out of the freezer. I had the truffle fries and my wife had the Brussels sprouts. Both were really good. Happened to show up and a band was playing. It made for a great ambiance. After completing the corn maze at Lyman Orchards on a chilly Sunday morning, my boyfriend and I decided to eat lunch here. We started with drinks, beer for him and the Apple Jack cocktail for myself. I was very happy with my drink, it tasted like cinnamon apple with a slight sour aftertaste...very fitting for Fall. We decided to order the Crispy Parmesan Brussel Sprouts for an appetizer. I had high hopes for these, but unfortunately they were not my favorite. They were overcooked that the burntness was very overpowering. For entrees, my boyfriend went with the Honey Roasted Salmon and I had the Classic BLT with grilled chicken and a side of sweet potato fries. We both liked our meals, the only negative part about my sandwich was that the bread was toasted more than I preferred, but the flavors of the other ingredients made it good enough for me to still enjoy. After my next trip to Lyman Orchards, I look forward to giving this place another try. read more

We came here for a little bite and a drink with some music, the musician was great and the beer cold we got the bone in canna wings and they were fabulous and crispy. We also got their "nachos" it's potato chips with cheese sauce so if you're feeling Mexican nachos this is not the dish but these were really yummy the cheese sauce was very creamy and delicious. Excellent drinks from the bar. Espresso martini and orange dreamsicle were both wonderful. We enjoyed the panini, cheeseburger, and pulled pork special that we ordered. We will absolutely be back for the food, however all aspects of service were extremely slow. read more

My wife and I ate recently at the 1741 PUb & Grill and we had a very nice meal. My burger was perfectly cooked and delicious. My wife had a chicken wrap and she throughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere is nice and open with a good vibe and they had a guitar player to provide entertainment. read more

For the end of my birthday weekend my wife brought me to 1741. The views are absolutely amazing. We shared the sprouts and pretzel sticks as appetizers. The sticks were great but I found the sprouts had a pool of oil in the ramekin in which they were served. I had the bacon blue burger my wife the 1741 burger. Both Cooked exactly to order. We split the gooey grilled cheese it had cooled by the time I got to it but still very tasty. The fries with everything were truffle parm fries, not over powered by the truffle oil. For dessert we split the apple pie mad with their own orchards apples. What made the evening stand out was 2 people. A lady who kept wandering out of the back checking and things ensuring everything was just so. But more so than that was out waitress Irene, she just had this lovely bubbly bouncy personality that made the evening more special. read more

Wish I could rate more than 5 stars! Food was incredible and service was great. Emma was a great waitress.

I am not sure what happened to the kitchen staff since the last time we went (last year in the winter) but the food is not what I remembered. They really have an awesome marketing person and a great location but the food is sub-par. I suppose it's great for families who can only spend about $10 on each item. But the burger was so small and the bun so big that I had to tear pieces off of the bread to actually make it work. Again, I was on their email list and it really looks like they have fun stuff going on, but maybe that is Lyman Orchard marketing and not really 1741 pub and grill. We won't be going back because it just wasn't even worth the $10 for that food. read more

Hidden gem in Middlefield! A little difficult to find as the business lacks signage from the main road, but worth it once found! Menu contains a mix of classic pub foods, as well as homemade specials, which are all family friendly, and affordable. Surprisingly huge choice of local craft beers, unique cocktails, and other drink selections for a smaller place. Awesome assortment of evening events on the website for fun things to do, such as music bingo, karaoke, setback, and trivia. Restaurant also offers a Sunday brunch as well. Highly recommend giving this great spot a try as they do not disappoint! read more

We went here to try the beer and food. We sat at the bar which is pretty small and the air conditioning definitely wasn't working well at 97 degrees outside. There must of been 5 people behind the bar that never wiped down the bar space from the previous people that sat there and there were tons of flies in the restaurant. We changed our mind about eating there because I'm telling between the fruit flies and regular flies that were landing on us while we sipped our beers were insane. Put a fly strip up in the kitchen and better cleaning is necessary. Hopefully we will be back to give it another try read more

Came here on a recommendation from a friend and everything lived up to what he said . I ordered a drink from the Holiday cocktail menu and it was amazing ! It had peppermint and Godiva chocolate in it . Wow ! I also ordered the lobster cornbread fritters and the Parmesan brussel sprouts and they were so tasty. You can tell they take great pride in all their dishes. The place is super clean and I felt comfortable dining in . Not only was the food delicious, the serving size was generous, the burgers were not messy and mushy by the time they came out of the boxes. They know what they do, and they do it well. I see this place as a burger bar with a handful of dishes to satisfy others in your party who (wrongfully) don't want a burger. There are a few different choices for the burgers and for different kinds of fries to choose from as your side. The burgers are of a good size and are juicy. The rolls are also good and toppings are portioned correctly to provide the right amount of flavor. Overall, a very good blend together with each bite. They have a variety of local beer on tap to choose from. The good: burger and fries options are all very tasty. Local beer options are good and prices reasonably. The bad: The beer menu seems overly heavy on IPA choices and the actual menu seems to not include all of the actual choices. It's also extremely loud in the restaurant and very difficult to carry a conversation with others at your table. Live music nights make this tougher. Price: $55 for two burgers and three beers, before tip, is a bit more than it probably should be, but everything was very good and our server was good as well. We will go back, but will likely do so when we can sit outside and enjoy the scenery of the golf course and reduced amount of noise. read more

The 1742 grill has great food and a great atmosphere. The downside is the weird, foul smell that hits you as soon as you walk in. It smells like "Bombao" once you enter the grill spot at Lyman orchards. What I mean is that it smells like the cleaning crew has been using the same rag, mop head and cleaning bucket for the last 20 years. The floor being extremely slippery throughout the facility gives it away. The utensils that were given were also not cleaned properly and served to us that way. The food was fantastic as everyone ate their plates fully. They just need to change the mop head every once in a while. read more

We made reservations for a Saturday evening dinner through open table and received a confirmation. Upon arriving, the restaurant was completely full, and a Disney themed trivia night was in high gear, which seemed strange for something to have on the weekend. I informed one of the waitresses we had a dinner reservation and she looked worried and replied with "I know" but she needed to "figure out where to put us." After waiting around for too long, it was apparent there was no room, and we left. What's the point in having reservations as an option if they cannot commit? While we didn't have the opportunity to eat, the food appeared to be cafeteria style with red plastic cups to boot. Waste of time. read more

Had a reservation last night for their Valentine's Day meal .. to say amazing is an understatement! The shrimp and oyster salad was delicious, pieces perfectly cooked! My husband and I had filet .. cooked exactly as I asked and so tender, cut like butter! The red bliss and beet mashed were so smooth and rich! Flourless chocolate torte .. well what a way to end a meal! All staff were extremely attentive and the Chef came out to check on us and make sure everything was done to our liking .. very professional in our opinion! Will definitely be going back! Literally just went here with my husband and daughter because we wanted to get dinner after spending the day over at the corn maze and the menu looked amazing. We walked in at 4:30 and were told the kitchen was closed until 5pm but we could sit and get drinks. We ordered a couple of hard ciders and my daughter got a water and then we never saw our waiter again. We finished our drinks and watched people get seated and get handed silverware and menus which we never got and they were having there orders taken. Multiple staff walked by us never looking in our direction or to see if we wanted to order another round of drinks or place a food order after sitting there until 5:20. We left cash on the table to cover our two drinks and the water and no one said anything to us as we left or tried to see if we needed anything. First and last time we will ever go here. Absolutely disgusting how the service was. How do you completely ignore a table of 3 people but continue to serve everyone else around them? read more

The atmosphere was nice and the burger was good but it was way too loud. They are only open to 9pm and I booked a res for 6 at 5:30. They had live music and the space was not set up for it. We had to shout at each other and the waitress struggled to hear us when taking our order. My friends And I love live music but as a later in the evening event, not with the blue plate special. Good experience here, arrive on Thursday evening, was Trivia night so pretty busy. Was greeted promptly by Frank. He stated it would be about 15 minute wait, and asked if we objected to sit out side, not a problem. I guess the party outside was staying longer then anticipated so he set us up with a separate table near, the bar. Awesome. He greeted us again and explained a few items and mentioned that it was still happy hour and few specials. We had the Brussels sprouts, excellent. Wife had Caesar salad and asked for chicken on the side,no problem. I had buffalo chicken wrap, very good also. Frank also mentioned to us things happening this summer, they are expanding their outside deck, and will be have live music. Was so glad to see this local restaurant doing so well and so many people out and about. Looking forward to going back.
