Today I had the worst experience at the ABS 1.0 location on 4th street in Rancho Cucamonga. I have…read morebeen getting my haircut there by Ernesto who is the owner for that location or so he says, for 2 years. My appointment was for 10:30 am. I was there early. I walked into the shop at 10:28 and Ernesto said, "Hello" as I sat in his chair. The last time I was there was over a month ago. Instead of asking how I had been he was heavily engaged in a conversation with a barber next to him talking about movies. I sat there and listened to this banter go on for at least 5 to 6 minutes before he finally turned his attention and asked me what I would like to have done to my hair. I basically told him the usual as he has been cutting my hair now for over two years. He then continued with the banter with the barber next to us who had no client about movies and irrevelant chitchat. When he finally got around to actually picking up the clippers to cut my hair, he still did not acknowledge me but continued having this side bar conversation. This went on for at least 10-12 minutes before I finally said something. The smell of marijuana was extremely pungent coming over the back of my shoulder from Ernesto. I told him that what he was doing was extremely unprofessional and that I had paid for a service and I should be treated with respect instead of being ignored. There were three other barbers in the shop at the time engaging with their clients as barbers do when they have a client in their chair. Ernesto has never acted this way in two years but today he was a completely different person. Maybe it was because he was so high on marijuana that he forgot what professionalism is and how to treat a client. After I said something he stopped the conversation with the barber next to us that had no client. The entire time until he finished with my hair he did not say word to me. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience. You could just feel the tension. I was watching all the other barbers laughing with their clients and here I am in his chair feeling completely unwelcome and disrespected wondering what the heck is happening. When the haircut finished up, I got out of the chair and walked to the front counter to pay. I figured this was a good time to follow up on what had just happened before giving him my credit card. I said to him, "I don't know what just happened but the relationship that we had as a barber and a client has deteriorated." I said, "you haven't even apologized for what just happened." He said, "for what?!" With an attitude. I said, "you made me wait at least five to six minutes before you acknowledged me and made me listen to you talk about movies with your fellow barber.. You ignored me the whole entire time in your chair. I'm looking at the rest of the barbers engaging with their clients and you supposedly are the owner and you just acted this way and say, 'for what?'" He looked me in the eyes and said, " I don't have to talk to you." Whoa!! If this guy has a boss, he should be fired! This attitude and behavior is completely unacceptable! At that point I said, "I shouldn't have to pay for this haircut. You are completely out of line." He then said, " Don't pay! Just bounce and get the fuck out out of the shop and you are not welcome to come back --weirdo!" I said, "I don't plan on ever coming back here again." I walked outside to my car and Ernesto came out the front door and stood at the front of the shop and continued yelling at me and disrespecting me until I got in my vehicle and drove away. My advice --stay away from this location. There are plenty other Barber shops that understand what professionalism is and take pride in their craft without showing up to work "high" and belittling a client as their breathing their marijuana breath all over them.

The level of professionalism and craft here succeeded my expectations and Daniel the owner did an amazing job with my hair.
